After this he's gonna play a movie director directing a movie where the actor played a exorcist priest and got possessed.

For those who don’t know, this is written by the writer of The Final Girls, whose father was the priest from The Exorcist, Jason Miller, who watched his father die on film over and over again. So, this seems like a tribute to his father, Jason Miller, in a way. Plus it was originally called Georgetown Project, which is where Exorcist 1 was filmed
"Jason" is the name of the son of the other priest in The Exorcist :o
Also it was made in 2019. Years before the other two exorcist movies from last year. The average moviegoer is completely oblivious to any of that. They'd rather remain oblivious and closed-minded so they can continue to make fun of it for being similar to a bad movie they happened to see first.

This was filmed 5 years ago and was written and directed by Joshua Miller. Son of Jason Miller who was in the original Exorcist. This is his directorial debut and I am extremely interested to see what he's capable of.

Little did William Friedkin know 50 years ago that he and William Peter Blatty would inspire 500,000 more exorcism movies starting in 1974 and running all the way into 2024 and beyond. None however came close or will ever come close to the OG for many reasons. Primary among them is that none of the imitators understood how it was really Karras's story. Instead they go right for the green eyes, levitating bodies and vomit. I guess possession will always be a fascinating topic.

These movies like all horror or exorcism films if properly made are extremely profitable. You’re getting new generations watching and enjoying the overall execution of the film. I would never say this particular series are “cashing in”. Now the films of Halloween making sequel after sequel in numerous timelines , I consider that to be a cash grab. When Russell Crowe, is in a movie, the movie tends to be pretty, darn great. Also several movies today are filmed pretty close together so that they keep number one the ages appropriate for the main actors in number two and interest.

0:49 to clarify about which halloween producer, they're referring to the now former head of Miramax, Bill Block.
Why am I saying this? Is so that no one thinks they're referring to Jason Blum when they mention from the producer of Halloween. If Blum was a producer on this, his production company (Blumhouse) would've been shown at the start with the other logos.
The marketing team probably should've said from the studio behind Halloween which would've referred to Miramax.
It's also important to point out that if it was produced by Jason Blum it would basically be guaranteed to suck.

It’s funny. Pope’s Exorcist was a bad movie that thought it was getting a sequel. I figured to myself, Russell Crowe saw the success of The Conjuring movies and thought he had that with Pope’s Exorcist. I clicked on this thinking it was a sequel. Like, “They’re really making it a series?” Only to find they’re unrelated.
That being said, finding out Jason Miller’s son wrote and directed it has caught my interest.

Yeah that seems like a huge mistake. Especially considering the fact that Russell Crowe was just in another exorcism movie around the same time that David Gordon Green made that garbage sequel to the original Exorcist. If they're thinking the name will make people interested they're dead wrong. People are sick of exorcism movies. I'm sure it would be more critically received under it's original title.
