Okay so Catwalk's wires are wider but OMG THIS STAGE GOT SUPER BUFFED. The invisible walls are literally GONE, definitely raising that stage's difficulty to Expert.
Let’s take a moment to say that it was thoughtful of them to include DX’s stages at all! I can relive the adrenaline rush of falling from heights on Veer Field once again!
@@DE23 I don't think it's meant to be that much like Beginner. I think it was meant to be a harder-than-normal Beginner stage. I mean, even like Octagonal and Arc Bridges are rated higher than levels like Blocks and Exam-A. Super Monkey Ball 2's ratings don't count when comparing as obviously something is different like with how Sliders is rated an 8/10 and Spiral Bridge a 4/10. They were probably rating them within the difficulty group or something. SMB1's ratings and Deluxe's levels seem like they can be compared legitimately. Since Veer Field is rated a 5/10, I think Catwalk would have probably been rated a 7/10. Teeter probably would have been rated a 6/10. Catwalk is way harder than Diving, and it's an Expert stage. Teeter is also definitely harder than Diving. In Banana Mania, I feel like Catwalk could have been rated a 10/10, at least in Original Stage mode, as I am honestly better at Exam-C in Banana Mania 😂😂
@@ruthmcnally310 Well *technically* the bonus stage is revisited multiple times, and stage themes are revisited in bot DX's Ultimate and now Banana Mania's Marathon modes.
@@sonnitude That feature would be cool as long as people make good stages and there is a requirement where the creator has to beat it before sharing it. I play Mario Maker 2 A LOT and some people don't make the greatest levels.
Just going to say, they handled this far better than Banana Blitz HD, holy crap, Banana Blitz HD destroyed what made the original version special. The new soundtrack was crap compared to the original, the controls were whacky, and there was not a lot there to go on once the main game was beat, they reduced the mini game amount to ten. This is much better overall and even offers the original soundtrack as DLC. Why they didn't do that with Banana Blitz HD is beyond me. Glad Sega listened to the fans and did a much better job with this package.
This game practically made the developers rediscover what a Monkey Ball level should be. I have confidence that they’ll be able to make a true successor to Super Monkey Ball 2.
Hm, since Destiny isn't here in DX Mode, that pretty much confirms Nintendo (the stage) isn't in the game, unless they hid it somewhere. Which makes sense. It's not too big of a loss since they're pretty much the same stage except Destiny is copyright friendly, but still kind of sad.
There is a very small chance that they consider Destiny an altered version of Nintendo instead of a new stage and include it on Original Stage Mode along with Mixer, but I'm not counting on it.
Using the keyboard input for Catwalk is probably the easiest way to beat that stage since there's no 8-direction thumbstick like the gamecube had. Though using Accurate Controls mod + the squad deadzone makes this game play almost exactly like the gamecube games did. Use a Gamecube controller + adapter on PC and it would be perfect I think. Sad that Sega forgot about this game almost a year after release they haven't patched it or released DLC of any kind. They really don't give two f's.
Is DX Mode the only Special mode to have fully exclusive levels? Original Course, Dark Banana, Golden Banana, and Reverse Mode are just altered versions of other stages.
You didn’t use the jump function in this game, there is actually an option to jump in this game, I wonder how you can do this without the jump, I don’t think I can play the harder levels without the jump function
Is there no challenge mode from DX that has the levels from 1 2 and DX back to back? It would be cool to try and do ultimate mode again if it's in the game
@@jj78434 the fact its not the same engine pisses me off a little bit. Also the option for a jump button in this game also makes it really not fun at all to play. @@thomascarson4677 Dude just because its not exactly one to one doesn't make it bad. Also how does an Optional Jump feature make it not fun at all? It actuallys pretty fun to jump around in thes Original stages. The new soundtrack is fine and you still got the old one. So how is this gonna be like Colors ultimate? Veer Field is one of the best SMB levels hands down
@@markus8086 I love Veer Field!!!!
Okay, real talk: whose bright idea was it to put Catwalk in BEGINNER of all difficulties? I’d say that’s an Expert stage, honestly.

I think this may be the first time in Monkey Ball history where we have 2 Bonus Stages in a row.
Indeed!
