    When you make a toposurface in Revit 2023 you are actually making a spline through the points of the topo. You are getting a smooth looking surface unless you have triangulation on in visibility. If you add points to a shape edited floor, then you get a surface with sharp edges not resembling topography at all(even with interior edges or folding lines turned off.).
    So how is a toposolid different from a shape edited floor?

      Although it's a welcome addition for advanced site modeling!

    • @GrishPanosyan
      @GrishPanosyan Pƙed rokem

      I think building pads should have stayed and renamed to smth like building footprint with a type parameter to choose whether to have the actual pad or not, it might even use a floor type right away like a stacked wall uses other wall types. Now the user should repeat the line to have the actual pad set. It should even have the ability to be controled by points like floors do. Combining couple of workflows could create an intuitive solution. Massing tools should have stayed for mass model creation.
      What do you think?

      @@TheRevitKid Environment Plugin is much better than toposolids. And it uses slabs for topography. Nothing new from my point of view. Even the contours on top of toposolids are ugly because there's no smoothing parameter like in civil 3d. On the other side modelling complex walls eg plaster-insullation- brick- plaster, join them with floors, also multilayered, is a nightmare. I have tried many solutions, the only working, which is 100% manual, and need rework in every update is to model each layer as a separate wall, with auto join off, and manually join and switch join order as needed. As I said 100% manual solution, and a nightmare if you want to model everything, eg plaster on beams, plaster in openings etc. I think archicad has materia strength which prioritize the join behavior for many years. You just can't go easily in level of detail more than 3 with Revit.
