Excellent video. Really liking the new channel, I'm glad to see you doing reviews once again. Very nice watch, unfortunately, with my 6.5" wrist probably too big. If it was the. Size of an Alpinist I'd be getting one.
I tried to get info about it, but couldn't find any. It's not domed. I found this on Seiko's website - The glass is the crystal which covers the dial and protects the dial, hands and movement from dust and water. There are five types of glass used in SEIKO, PULSAR, and LORUS. They are: Acrylic Glass This is a plastic glass also known as a plexi. It is easier to scratch than Hardlex crystal, and reflects more light. Shallow scratches can be buffed out easily. Hardlex Glass This is a toughened mineral crystal glass developed by the SEIKO Watch Corporation, which is highly resistant to knocks and scratching. Hardlex glass is standard in most SEIKO, PULSAR and LORUS models. Mineral Glass A synthetic mineral crystal glass which is highly resistant to knocks and scratches Sapphire Glass A synthetic sapphire glass which is extremely hard to scratch or mark. This glass is second in hardness only to a diamond and is used mostly in the Premium Collection. Sapphlex Glass A new type of glass also developed by and unique to SEIKO. Sapphlex glass is a combination of SEIKO's superior Sapphire and Hardlex glass. The base of the glass is Hardlex and the top is Sapphlex. It is used only in SEIKO sports watches.
Amazing. However one thing about some limited edition models, is eventual parts availability in the future if major service is needed. Certain caliber movements even though the same come in different diameters and movement holder locations. Take for instance Orient calibers especially the 469. Even though same movements they come in different sizes and configurations 46942 46943 46940 or 46w40. The 469 is basically a Seiko 17 jewel 7005 which Orient took and upgraded to a 21 jewel. I have a limited edition orient Tonneau or tank serial FPAA-C2 Automatic with the 46w40 ( 46940) caliber movement. This watch isn't even fully out in the market yet. It was introduced in the market in January. Basically one can buy it but, mostly in Russian markets( limited). I was lucky. I bought mine at a pawn shop for $50 in February. The watch is just gorgeous. The only problem is for now is the service. Since it's a small diameter movement it has to be sent directly to orient for service. Some early watches ( limited supply) used this same style movement since 2011. No service data can be found on this one just a caliber guide and pictures. I like to stay away from some of the limited supply Seiko and Orient brands because sometimes it can take weeks or even months if not a year on certain limited edition items. Another example is the Girrard Perregaux 8 day constant escapement watch which a friend of mine bought in 2015. Last year a pallet jewel broke in the watch and damaged the silicon wire. He sent it away in August last year and still hasn't got it back because of calibration and service issues. Limited edition discontinued. A nightmare for a $ 60000 watch. GP hasn't made anything since about 2015 2016.
Beautiful watch, I had to pause your video and I found one for $345 and bought it on the spot, last one they had, shipping from Japan, thanks for this awesome review 😉👍🏼
Jean Claude Van Dammmme! Always been a Rolex guy, but this? Man, this video got me ordering online. Not the best movement but the legibility and lume are tops! Perhaps only Ball and Tourby could top. Great review. Seiko convert here.
Pretty cool Seiko. Now that you brought it up, I do vaguely recall seeing one person posting a wrist shot of this several months the ago on one of the Facebook groups. I think definitely a high value prop if you're looking for this style of watch and don't want to have to pay as much as some other watches that have this pilot style
These were huge when they came out. They were $300 USD. I have the exact same watch only PVD-coated. I believe that there were eight models. The real screamer is the original gray ZIMBE from Thailand.
Peter Earl I have that watch... its ok lume and it doesn't have a screw down crown like they said in the video or thats what i remember atleast... However it is COSC certified 😂
It's unfortunate to see this be limited production. I like the looks of this SCVE045 a lot better than any Seikos at Macy's stores. I already have some other Seiko automatics including a similar-looking SRP715.
This is a Japanese market only release hence it’s not widely known to the rest of the world. Seiko have been releasing quite a number of LEs with Nano Universe. Just google Seiko and Nano Universe and you will see a plethora of watches mostly military style watches with some pretty stealthy blacked out versions.
Great review! I agree it's a good watch, but maybe a bit too big. Also this watch feels like a SRPB07 when I expect it to be SARG009. Maybe if it's 40mm with 6r15 it will be more popular.
I gotta rant here like 😠 First ever youtube post.....I got the original limited edition blacked out version of this....and yet I have seen that Seiko have issued more limited editions of exactly the same watch just on different straps! Different case colour is one thing but just changing the strap!!! Piss taking bastards. Anyway rant over. These are sweet 😍 and I, like you, had been looking at the zenith pilot bronze before picking mine up to tide me over...bought the pilot less than a month later lol. Cool watch and glad your back to reviewing dunno what the whole properly wound thing was but your vids lost their soul. Welcome back 👍
10:10 Tock Cheers Adam, most likely yet Seiko usually mention this, no reviewer seems to mention the crystal material. I have no issue if it IS hardlex.
I like Seiko, but that watch doesn't add anything Hamilton didn't already do, and a 4R35 is ok, but I like the 6R15 bettter. And what is the deal with a shaded display back? Shoppinginjapan has it in stock at $278.
Why create a stampede for a Seiko watch that's readily available in other, similar iterations without the Japanese teen hysteria connected to freakin' Nano Universe? All you have to do is do a Google search to see what I mean.
I've been looking for one for a few months now but I didn't not want it enough to pay any more than USD $250 for it. I dig the pilot style and it is the only 42mm non-diver I can justify on my tiny wrist.
Bought it about a couple of years ago but got the PVD version and it is a keeper and keeps maybe the best time in my collection.
I found another one with similar look SRPC89K1
Hey Adam, it is now officially SOLD OUT!
Thanks to you and Bruce.
Hadn't seen this one but I did have the SCVE035 for awhile. Another really cool Nano Universe collaboration. Great vid:)
Hey Adam, do you still have this, and would you consider selling? Been looking everyone for one of these!
Excellent video. Really liking the new channel, I'm glad to see you doing reviews once again. Very nice watch, unfortunately, with my 6.5" wrist probably too big. If it was the. Size of an Alpinist I'd be getting one.
Never heard of it - thank for showing. There are a couple of Seikos from 2017 that were forgotten in the SLA017 and cocktail time hype.
Man I love this watch design. Unfortunately the price is inflated now on the secondary market. I love a field/pilot watch with applied indices!
I got mine from shipping in japan net a few months ago. Really like the watch, especially for the price.
Fenil Parekh What is the crystal made of as I read "glass material" in descriptions instead of hardlex.?

More about the watch here (10min onwards) - czcams.com/video/UENL4ThkzaY/video.html
Fenil Parekh yes I also read that, hoping it's not plexi as I just ordered one.
Thanks for your help
I am sure it's not plexi.

congrats!
I was wondering who last got the watch because I was going to order it too! Beat me off by 2 days 😭 end up getting brown color instead
Great watch been real close to picking one of these up several times locally. Probably will get this one....

Was watching Megsquats and found out you are an enthusiasts

Because it's not a diver there is no buzz
Great watch shame its limited. The Bulova military you reviewed with the high frequency movement is great too

Sweet looking watch but I wish it was in the 38-40 mm size.
Good moment for this video now that I'm looking for a daily beater to complement my SARB035
It's unfortunate to see this be limited production. I like the looks of this SCVE045 a lot better than any Seikos at Macy's stores. I already have some other Seiko automatics including a similar-looking SRP715.
I didn't miss this one.
I remember checking out some Nano collabs a while back. I don’t think they went under the radar as much as just being shunned altogether.
vdbdg lol! Fair enough. I do agree I’m not a fan of a lot of the nano uni models

ahaha awesome man - glad you ended up with both. appreciate the kind words too, this feels right :)
This watch would look awesome with a anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
Nice! Thanks for the info!
Wow definitely a beautiful watch that flew under the radar
Help... What is the crystal made of as I read "glass material" in descriptions instead of hardlex.?
Motor Enthusiasting it’s likely hardlex my friend.

Good. Not toy.
nice watch but the 4r doesnt keep time to well which is sort of the purpose to begin with :)
So cool! Why limited Seiko, why....?? 😢😥🤬
Are the numerals/indices applied ... ? or just, like, printed on ?
Kieren Moore applied
10:10 Tock - Cheers
How is it antimagnetic?
I'm 99% sure I went to high school with you in VA.
go panthers!
Haha, that's awesome! What a cool coincidence. Love the channel man!
Your videos always seem a bit over-exposed. The watch looks great, and indeed something I haven't heard of before. Thanks for the interesting find.
spookyspoots thanks for the feedback! Will try and work on the settings a bit more

Nice 👍
It's been out for a year, and there's plenty of them still around for sale ... somewhat inflated, already. Yeah, I'll pass.
Aannnd it's gone!
Zenith type 20
Copy
Changed the name again?
*see my basel video from saturday
10:10 Tock I just did! Im pretty excited to see you and Patrick back on the channel.
Boring watch
