- After almost four years, Cloud Retainer will be playable as Xianyun in Genshin Impact!
I am extremely excited about all the new Lore and Gameplay that will come with Chenyu Vale in patch 4.4, so I want to share my thoughts early on along with any details in the Trailer itself.
We are going to have a lot of stuff to cover in patch 4.4, the world quest and Xianyun's story quest seem very interesting. Furthermore, the new characters look extremely fun... You could even say, we will be Gaming 🙂

I can't believe how many people were making fun of Gaming when he was first revealed, he looks amazing in-game.

Who was making fun of him? I only saw people making jokes about his name, which isn't really all that deep, it's clearly an intentional play on words.

Chenyu Vale looks amazing
The world boss is named "solitary suanni" and it is an adeptus and they also said Man Chai (Gaming pet friend) is a suanni too. Meaning in the context of Genshin a Suanni is a race.
The real Chinese inspiration is Suanni a mythical beast half lion/half dragon. He is the 5th son of the "Great Dragon" who has 7 sons btw. They are either half carp/dragon, half Qilin/dragon, half serpent/dragon anyway lets just say the "Great dragon" didnt discriminate while choosing its partner lol
Also I dont think visions holders can walk on water. It is an ability reserved for very specific characters. As for Gaming either Xianyun help him stay afloat with Adeptus magic or its because of Man Chai his pet. His constellation is "Leonide Awakening" and skill "bestial ascent" hmmm its a very interresting choice
I bet the walk on water thing was just for the sake of the trailer, and we won't be able to do so ingame, but well, you never know
Perhaps this is the first indication we'll get of Zhongli's origins. Doubtful though.

Im adding that Chenyu vale overall vibe is inspired by Chinese fantasy light novel worlds with Wuxia and Xianxia
Xingqiu skin is linked to the Guhua Clan of Chenyu vale

9:20 Xianyun has the same vision design as Shenhe as in that red knots maybe foreshadowing that some misfortune happened with her in the past that might be reason why she give a redknot design for Shenhe to suppress her emotions. I don't remember ganyu receiving one despite being a fellow student of Xianyun. ( Copium tho )

also mighty dissapointed wiith the "artifact loadout" system it feels like our requests for qol's fall on deaf years, it took 3 whole years to add a claim all button for expeditions too, whats the point of loadouts (plural) if you can only have ONE preset for a charecter? mihoyo devs either spite their own game or like to watch us suffer 💀 mihoyo is liloupar and we are their gurabad

the mother that asks Cloud retainer to spare her child couldn't be Shenhe's mother (i don't really remember how Shenhe's backstory when).
Also this trailer kinda reminded me of the cave north west of Qingce village were a god was defeated by Zhongli, did we actually get to know who it was if not i think this patch could reveal some info about that

I liked Cloud Retainer and waited.. she could be new Kazuha, amazing grouper. or Xiao/Murderer mix, but they made her healer for the sake of supporting water jester. I detest furina more and more.

It's a shame Ganyu got powercrept in almost everyway by Neuvillette but she's still a top tier chara and I'm very happy to get to play an even more beautiful character
She was powercrept by Ayaka not Neuvillette and even then, it's not fully powercreep because Ganyu is still better at melting than Ayaka. Neuvillette is hydro DPS and has nothing to do with Ganyu's main niche as a Cryo DPS.

The Developers call him Jiaming which is a joke amongst the Chinese player base that is Jiaming (Jamming) because he is dancing. Gaming is just a joke all around.
*Edit:* I should also add that Jiaming is Mandarin for Gaming before some nerd tries to correct me when we all obviously know it.
