This should go down as one of the great tv interviews.

Just saw the complete interview with this wonderful individual. I don't think I have ever seen the Scifi with him in it, except for the exerts put out by the media to exemplify a particular point of view. However, I found his account of life in the USA extremely interesting, as he does not appear to have any hangouts about the whole experience in his interesting life with his parents and siblings. There is hope for all of us!

Thank you Dr. Leonard McCoy for taking such good care of Sulu that his mind is still sharp as a tack!

Ooooh I think you’re right about the location! I completely didn’t notice until I read this comment (George Takei has a way of commanding every bit of your attention!) but I skipped back through a few of the different angles and now I recognise it! Also having just googled it - did you know it’s due to re-open next spring?! I didn’t until now! 🙌

1:16 There _was_ internment of German Americans in both world wars. It wasn't as restrictive, and there were a lot more loopholes, but it happened.

I haven't been following all the new Star Trek series, I'm a fan of the original. But with his mind being as sharp as it is I'd really hope that they could find a spot for him in whatever current or future one is going on, as a decorated commodore or something.

Captain Sulu I believe, never call Captain Sulu shorty (Star Trek 3), and never under any circumstances bring up Captain Kirk's appearance numbers on the TV series and movies to Sulu's appearance numbers!
Question to Captain Sulu: what would you do if you ruled the world? answer: demote Captain Kirk to an Henson, and order Kirk to clean Captain Sulu's personal toilet on the star ship USS Excelsior, for the rest of his (Kirk's) miserable career in Star Fleet!
Question to Captain Sulu: on a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you hate Captain Kirk? answer: refer to previous answer, and take a guess!
It's been fun (Kirk, Star Trex Generations)!

Well, if you listened to his and his parents' experiences in the concentration camp, that is something worth paying attention to. I think that was the main thrust of this interview and is very interesting for those who may not have been aware of how unjust that time was for Japanese-Americans who did not support what Japan had done.
