Background music is distracting
extremely so.
Agreed. Very.
Definitely
Peter please live the background music 😂
Don’t you notice venting brings him in THE ZONE?
Ohhh Peter! Thank you for all your knowledge!
Totally needed to see this!! Thanks so much Peter
Why not shoot with the camera vertical ? Just v wondering.
two things you need to remember...three things...five thi...many things. Hahaha. Love your work and tips as always, jokes aside.
Excellent video... Truly!
Doi" This was a good reminder. Thanks.
Hilarious and great advice!
Good morning Peter, and your classes are always very rich and fun, I used this lighting system (but I used it with dfusor umbrellas, since here in Brazil cineflex costs a car:D) which is your signature and easy to identify when it is used, even With umbrellas, this triangular way of lighting was very good, along with the other techniques used such as camera height, posture, eyes, very grateful for teaching us, a big hug from Brazil, I'm your fan
Great video. Music is a distraction.
Drop the camera (32x) Look at this angle (27x). You’re too high (16x) The body goes straight down out of frame (21x) That’s too much hair (35x). You’re welcome.
Good stuff. Thx
Hahahahaha... guilty as charged, making them bend about too much... but I shoot handheld so have been dropping and untilting automatically 😉 Great video Peter as always 👍😃
Love this! Moving into headshot work and wonder what is the ball head you’re using in the studio? Looks like a plate mounted directly to a Feisol Tripod? Thanks!
Re the lights, is the 3x1 size for the key and fill necessary for headshots, or is 2x1 fine? Cheers
"I think she's a lefty facially" is the sickest burn I have ever heard
It's not.
I'm no expert, but if you'd 86 the background noise the video would be geometrically improved and easier to endure. With your excellent content you absolutely don't need the distracting music.
Wha??? Lol
Way down front shoulders were a biggie in the '40s! :-)
Fixed in post....?
What tripod and head are you using?
It's the Arca Swiss P0 Ball Head. Love it!
Thought about stand up?
I'm wondering why you shoot horizontal for headshots. My impulse is to use Portrait orientation, while being conscious of "safe for square crop".
I'm thinking I should deliver in 4:5, which can be cropped to 1:1 (for thumbnail), and 9:16 (for address book).
Always have done it that way since I began in 2000. Visually much more appealing to me for sure and headshots by my definition don't include the chest. If clients want portrait orientation then just crop it.
@@peter_hurley I've noticed that you never focus and shoot in live view....what's the reasoning behind this?
@@cygilbert9131 I think you miss the connection between the subject and the photographer. I do use it for portraiture when I can't see the subjects expression in as much detail, but other than that I love to be in the viewfinder. Maybe from my film days when composition meant so much to me. I always liked to show the rebate so composition in camera is key.
PCSS - Pete's Common Sense Syndrome, ya'll!
Britney has a very very charming and beautiful face! Who is the guy?? :)
Kinda reminds me of Jenna Fisher
This poor girl looks so uncomfortable.
Drop the music, not just the shoulder.
Drop, saying everything 10 times.
Showing the result on the computer after making your point, would make it believable.
He is bordering on being rude to Brittney too.
ouch... I saw 2 interesting tips .. which had could be told in 2 minutes.. without the ugly noise in the background. I don't like the way you treated the model... and your audition...
completely useless headshot tips. the background music should be much louder, so as to drown out his voice
do not touch your model
