Rock has knee issues which explains why his leg training is a little wonky.
He's training more hamstrings biased I believe, maybe that's the point
I have back and leg issues, not from lifting, and had to improvise my training to compensate. I'm stronger in these areas as a result.
It's unfortunate he's missing out on the deep stretch movements as they build the best.
But I think for what he can do, like many others, no excuse is going to stop us.

I realize I'm a rando, but I wonder if people develop knee issues because they're not going deep enough. They end up putting so much weight on it that your tendons get mashed. Not sure if it's tendon or ligament related, to be fair.

@@BrofUJu You aren't really wrong for most adults. A lot of people have back, shoulder, and knee problems that are really just "I don't stretch/do enough (or any) strength training so the joint is weak"
For The Rock specifically, he has joint problems because he wrestled and played football, it's a joint destroyer.

Ignoring the “injury history gives you a free pass” bit, I always thought I was doing it wrong. I prefer a lower foot position to get a deeper stretch on the linear leg press machine, but almost everyone else at my gym seems to do it with their foot super high up. I did experiment with a higher foot position, but it never stuck because I enjoyed the stretch. I’m kinda glad I got some validation from this Short.

Love the wealth of knowledge shared, combined with the fact that you only need to look at him for a second to know that he physically backs up that knowledge. I'm going to be commenting thanks on a lot of vids, because the amount i have learned i really appreciate. The whole Full deep stretch on moves. Slow eccentric movements. Dropping the weight down and not ego lifting when you have to. Unilateral movements for even gains (and not so much unilateral leg press like in this short, although it did grab my attention, i tend to get a good burn in both hammies leg pressing in normal fashion)
Need to find a solution to my squat game, my kneecaps feel like they move about a little and feel uncomfortable whenever i do squats. Maybe need to get some decent knee supports. Been swapping for leg extensions, not ideal but better than doing nothing for my quads for now i guess.

You can produce a shit too of force through the toes and then as soon as your heel can touch again push through the whole foot it will fry the quads. But if you want heels to touch in the stretch (slightly better force production) you can buy weightlifting shoes. But it doesn’t really matter
