WTD is honestly a great game, none of the main difficulties are really designed for solo though, mainly just the campaign missions since they're solo only. It takes a while to get used to, considering its a curve-ball to the usual formula but if you're willing to learn it's mechanics its fun
combining a average TD game community and the fact its not meant to be solo'ed is honestly the death combo, because honestly, good luck finding a lobby that doesnt atleast require 20 trophies to join

wtd is pretty good, you just haven’t learnt the fundamentals. wtd is different, yeah, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. the unique game style makes you actually go through the tutorial, not just dive headfirst. and it is a challenge, the reason you died on casual is because wtd is mostly meant to be played with other people, and the game is pretty challenging and hard, for people who like that stuff. there’s tons of features that make it a really interesting game, you just haven’t seen it yet.

I used to think WTD is a bs game before I started the learning experience through trial and error. Once I did, I started to appreciate the uniqueness it brought to the table and that the "bs" are actually fair once you learn how to deal with them. Clearly this is a half baked review that shouldnt be taken for any reason lol
this type if thinking is exactly what I mean when i say WTD fans will deflect ANY criticism, if you want your game or community to be more welcoming to players and want them to stay, make the game fun to play. Nobody likes artificial difficulty and nobody likes excessively drowned out grinding

With many new accessories/units, there are many ways to beat everything in the game now, although obviously the more difficult things are pretty tight for what you can and cant do. either way, goo has been trying to make the game more skill-based, as seen with some of the more recent boss changes.
Feels weird that John is really only hating on these games, like half the games don’t even have the same mechanics as tower defense simulator, like 2 of the games he mentioned don’t even have set paths that zombies take to get around the map, it’s more so a creative different type of tower defense game that has nothing to do with being a ripoff of tower defense simulator. Most of the Roblox platform (and to an extent, gaming as a whole) is ridiculed with extremely easy "click and forget" games that exist solely for profit and monetisation. If you're comparing these games with what you're referring to as a "game dev", congrats because that's exactly what you described. Hook a player in and make them dish out their wallet (or in this case, their parent's). On the other hand, when I hear game dev and good in the same sentence, I'm looking for a game that exists outside the box, that balances both visual aesthetics and gameplay topped off with actual in-depth mechanics that require critical and thoughtful thinking, and not just spam click to unlock new item. If someone doesn't like that, pet simulator X is down the corner. However unfortunately, you are correct in this scenario. This is such a low effort video. You went in with the intent of making a spectacle out of all games involved and put little to no time trying to play each of them, also if you had put more than 2 neurons to work you would notice that typical tower defense game was not only made by the same studio that made world tower defense, but also was made to look like a carbon copy of tower battles intentionally because it's a joke game, the currency buyers, low effort UI, upgrade descriptions, designs and bad animations were all done that way to parody tower battles, also what did you expect? to win by spamming snipers and soldiers? well you could have won in casual mode from world tower defense actually, if you took more than 5 seconds looking at the shop you would have noticed that the some of towers that are "unfortunately locked behind coins", which is a thing in EVERY single tower defense game and i have no idea why you felt the need of pointing out as a negative feature in world tower defense specifically, were cheap enough that you could buy with the 600 starting 'coins' you had, specifically demoman and farmer, which you could use to deal AoE damage and protect your units from getting hit, not to mention how you completely skipped the tutorial and didn't even look at the beginner campaigns

I am eternally burnt from grinding out multiple roblox TD games, but World Tower Defense will always be rated #1 because of how unique it, DESPITE the insane learning/difficulty curve. Also TTDG is made by the same WTD dev, you unlock a special unit for WTD if you beat the TTDG final boss.

In there you have to play and play boring modes and maps that arent hard at all in order to get a good tower, in wtd units are way easyer to get and to get even the most expensive ones takes way less than other games. + do you know how mush p2w tds and tdx have? You could litteraly get yourself 90% of game by just using your mother credit card, and in wtd the only game passes that you can see are purly cosmetic and dont make the game any easyer, it only has 2 gamepass es that give a little bit of somethinhg not decorative in game, first being pass that costs 3000 robux and it makes players name above his head rainbow and gives him an dealmaker accessory if he still doesnt own it. This gamepass is made purely for fun because none saint player will spend 3000 robux for Just an accessory at start of the game that doesnt actually give a lot of boost to you if you have skill issues. And second being VIP gamepass that costs 400 robux and what it does that it lets you and people who play with you earn special curency from matches that can be traded for some other main curency in game. again, its not gonna make you have as mush as normal players got after months/years of playing so if someone buyes it they will not gain a lot of advantage over other. And in tds or tdx you can spend all money from others card to have a loadout that takes plenty of time of normal playing to get. So WTD is also one of the most F2P tower defense games in roblox

@@BoboGangster WTD has insightful mechanics that challenged the generic "tower defense" trope. You can barely call it a TD game, yet it resembles one in so many ways. TDX on the other hand in my 2 hours of playing is a reskinned TDS. Boring grind, start with only one tower that is extremely mediocre, enemy structure is near identical to TDS (normal zombies come, fast zombies, tanky zombies, first "boss", and so on), and I'm pretty sure I know where John got the "tower death" mechanic from.
Imma talk about WTD versus TDX from a game design perspective. I'm not a pro game designer nor a top player in either game but I love game development, the TD genre and I unlocked all towers in TDX and almost all in WTD and own VIP in TDX and bunch of gamepasses in WTD. Strategizing: Let's be real, TDX is braindead, you can easily win the Expert solo and all the matches just revolve around 2 player farming and 2 defending. Both defenders just spam laser gunners early game, one of the farmer get artillery, then everyone can just put down whatever op stuffs they have and win. And this is the only strat you need because the only mode you play is Expert and you keep doing the same maps all over again bc everyone just want to do easy maps to grind. You leak something? The base has hp and the mobs just die upon walking there and you can heal the base like crazy so u can just tank stuffs u don't want / can't deal with. What if you lose? You can pay with in-game currency to rewind for up to 5 times! On the other hand, WTD has 4 base mode (casual, burdensome, rush, endless), there are other ones like Painful, Arduous, Treach, Ruined Facility, etc. Each mode comes with unique enemies, many maps have their exclusive enemies, some modes have special interaction with some modifiers or the accessory your team use. There are ton of other "gamemodes" in WTD so applying one loadout for the entire game is impossible, I bet I can easily come up with a loadout that can be used for any mode and for most maps in TDX. Unlike TDX, this game forces the player to challenge themselves through daily missions, it's nearly a must for everyone to grind daily mission for a lot of things, players have to do different challenges to unlock towers not just do the same thing all over again in tdx to unlock everything. The game difficulty in WTD is a lot higher than TDX, figuring out how to solo expert takes very little trials, but beating the easiest mode in wtd requires a lot of trials, inspection and planning ahead because there are much more different enemies in WTD and there are a lot of traits and special abilities for enemies, not just different hp levels or the same mechanics all over again like stunning or destroying towers. Progression: Like do I have to talk about how repetitive TDX is? There's only 3 modes and you spend most of your time doing expert only, you just keep meeting the same enemies and the same maps all over again to grind for levels and all the towers in the game and can we talk about the gap between getting artillery and warship? I wouldn't be surprised if I actually did like 70+ expert matches to go from artillery to warship and there's nothing to get in between those. -- i'll finish this some day.... TDX just bad, i wish I found WTD sooner and grind there instead. My top TD games on roblox ranking: 1. World Tower Defense 2. Tower Blitz 3. Pixel gun tower defense

"Casual" is incredibly hard to start out at. Clearly you and the devs don't know what casual means. Most of the Roblox platform (and to an extent, gaming as a whole) is ridiculed with extremely easy "click and forget" games that exist solely for profit and monetisation. If you're comparing these games with what you're referring to as a "game dev", congrats because that's exactly what you described. Hook a player in and make them dish out their wallet (or in this case, their parent's).
On the other hand, when I hear game dev and good in the same sentence, I'm looking for a game that exists outside the box, that balances both visual aesthetics and gameplay topped off with actual in-depth mechanics that require critical and thoughtful thinking, and not just spam click to unlock new item. If someone doesn't like that, pet simulator X is down the corner.
However unfortunately, you are correct in this scenario. Roblox is populated with like-minded people such as yourself that only look for an easy and braindead game to spew hours and possibly money into it as well to get a kick out of their sad life.

This is such a low effort video. You went in with the intent of making a spectacle out of all games involved and put little to no time trying to play each of them, also if you had put more than 2 neurons to work you would notice that typical tower defense game was not only made by the same studio that made world tower defense, but also was made to look like a carbon copy of tower battles intentionally because it's a joke game, the currency buyers, low effort UI, upgrade descriptions, designs and bad animations were all done that way to parody tower battles, also what did you expect? to win by spamming snipers and soldiers? well you could have won in casual mode from world tower defense actually, if you took more than 5 seconds looking at the shop you would have noticed that the some of towers that are "unfortunately locked behind coins", which is a thing in EVERY single tower defense game and i have no idea why you felt the need of pointing out as a negative feature in world tower defense specifically, were cheap enough that you could buy with the 600 starting 'coins' you had, specifically demoman and farmer, which you could use to deal AoE damage and protect your units from getting hit, not to mention how you completely skipped the tutorial and didn't even look at the beginner campaigns

I am eternally burnt from grinding out multiple roblox TD games, but World Tower Defense will always be rated #1 because of how unique it, DESPITE the insane learning/difficulty curve. Also TTDG is made by the same WTD dev, you unlock a special unit for WTD if you beat the TTDG final boss.

In there you have to play and play boring modes and maps that arent hard at all in order to get a good tower, in wtd units are way easyer to get and to get even the most expensive ones takes way less than other games. + do you know how mush p2w tds and tdx have? You could litteraly get yourself 90% of game by just using your mother credit card, and in wtd the only game passes that you can see are purly cosmetic and dont make the game any easyer, it only has 2 gamepass es that give a little bit of somethinhg not decorative in game, first being pass that costs 3000 robux and it makes players name above his head rainbow and gives him an dealmaker accessory if he still doesnt own it. This gamepass is made purely for fun because none saint player will spend 3000 robux for Just an accessory at start of the game that doesnt actually give a lot of boost to you if you have skill issues. And second being VIP gamepass that costs 400 robux and what it does that it lets you and people who play with you earn special curency from matches that can be traded for some other main curency in game. again, its not gonna make you have as mush as normal players got after months/years of playing so if someone buyes it they will not gain a lot of advantage over other. And in tds or tdx you can spend all money from others card to have a loadout that takes plenty of time of normal playing to get. So WTD is also one of the most F2P tower defense games in roblox

@@BoboGangster WTD has insightful mechanics that challenged the generic "tower defense" trope. You can barely call it a TD game, yet it resembles one in so many ways.
TDX on the other hand in my 2 hours of playing is a reskinned TDS. Boring grind, start with only one tower that is extremely mediocre, enemy structure is near identical to TDS (normal zombies come, fast zombies, tanky zombies, first "boss", and so on), and I'm pretty sure I know where John got the "tower death" mechanic from.

Imma talk about WTD versus TDX from a game design perspective.
I'm not a pro game designer nor a top player in either game but I love game development, the TD genre and I unlocked all towers in TDX and almost all in WTD and own VIP in TDX and bunch of gamepasses in WTD.
Strategizing:
Let's be real, TDX is braindead, you can easily win the Expert solo and all the matches just revolve around 2 player farming and 2 defending. Both defenders just spam laser gunners early game, one of the farmer get artillery, then everyone can just put down whatever op stuffs they have and win. And this is the only strat you need because the only mode you play is Expert and you keep doing the same maps all over again bc everyone just want to do easy maps to grind. You leak something? The base has hp and the mobs just die upon walking there and you can heal the base like crazy so u can just tank stuffs u don't want / can't deal with. What if you lose? You can pay with in-game currency to rewind for up to 5 times!
On the other hand, WTD has 4 base mode (casual, burdensome, rush, endless), there are other ones like Painful, Arduous, Treach, Ruined Facility, etc. Each mode comes with unique enemies, many maps have their exclusive enemies, some modes have special interaction with some modifiers or the accessory your team use. There are ton of other "gamemodes" in WTD so applying one loadout for the entire game is impossible, I bet I can easily come up with a loadout that can be used for any mode and for most maps in TDX. Unlike TDX, this game forces the player to challenge themselves through daily missions, it's nearly a must for everyone to grind daily mission for a lot of things, players have to do different challenges to unlock towers not just do the same thing all over again in tdx to unlock everything. The game difficulty in WTD is a lot higher than TDX, figuring out how to solo expert takes very little trials, but beating the easiest mode in wtd requires a lot of trials, inspection and planning ahead because there are much more different enemies in WTD and there are a lot of traits and special abilities for enemies, not just different hp levels or the same mechanics all over again like stunning or destroying towers.
Progression:
Like do I have to talk about how repetitive TDX is? There's only 3 modes and you spend most of your time doing expert only, you just keep meeting the same enemies and the same maps all over again to grind for levels and all the towers in the game and can we talk about the gap between getting artillery and warship? I wouldn't be surprised if I actually did like 70+ expert matches to go from artillery to warship and there's nothing to get in between those.

"Casual" is incredibly hard to start out at. Clearly you and the devs don't know what casual means. Typically games with 4+ difficulties like that tend to make the first one really easy, and the second one simple. WTD chose "easy, hard, more hard, etc" its their fault for making it so hard to start out.
