Honestly I watched many videos for the same topic but this is the best one I have seen.
Glad it was helpful!
Great presentation Bench crafter.👍 Just watch you don't drop the sharpened chisel on your exposed toes😂
that’s the part which I don’t like about making videos, you become vulnerable 🙂, thx for highlighting that 🤝
Thanks much for this valuable sharing!

Thank you for the clear information on how to sharpen a chisel. As a maintenance guy i was recently given the task to do door installations. (Which i thoroughly enjoy by the way). To chisel the hole for the door lock mechanism i find that my chisels are not as sharp as i wolud like them to be. So i use a grinder....please dont crusify me😬🤦♂️. What i like to know is when you have a water stone ...at what angle is the best to sharpen knives and chisels...some say a 20° angle
Thank you for your comment, chisels are usually sharpened at 25 degrees and you can put another 5 degrees or so bevel to speed up the next sharpening, to tell you the truth I am not good at knife sharpening (my wife will crucify me now 🤗) it requires more practice than chisel sharpening, there are many videos out there teaching how to do it, 🤞
@@TheWoodCrafter1 thank you for the helpful feedback. I will most certainly let my company buy me the required water stones i need. I will make a jig in that configuration as you mentioned above. When it comes to knives ..Lets stay to the conventional knife sharpeners we get from the stores i guess😀👌
@@nevillesmith9795 😊👍
Do you have a video on making that cool box that holds your sharpening stones!
Yes I do, I mentioned a card in this video about that build, or you can check my other videos you can find it under the name of “sharpening box”
Thank you for watching 🤝
I left the link for you in the description, enjoy.
@@TheWoodCrafter1 thank you!

Fantastic teaching!
Are you a teacher?
Toby from Scandinavia
No sir I am not a teacher, a woodworker I guess :), I don't know if I am good at teaching, I hope this video was useful to you.
I can sharpen them. I just like watching other people's videos
🙂🤝
Use dawn and water on the diamonds. That's all I've ever used on them.
Maybe distilled water is a better option (less minerals) I read that rust can start forming on them by time, if you haven’t experienced that while using water then this is good to know 👍
@@TheWoodCrafter1 well if you let it set yes. But I sharpen and immediately wipe them off. Usually scrub them with a brush and dry them. I've never had a issue. The dawn helps bind the water. Makes a excellent lubricant. I get some crazy edges.
@@roughroosterknifesharpenin5531 thx for sharing this, appreciate it. I Shall give it a try sometimes.
