It drives me nuts when people don't pick up after their dogs!! 💩 They figure if it's on the grass, it won't get stepped on. 🙄 And also they assume it's okay to pet her.. Zoey doesn't like strangers trying to touch her, without putting their hand out to her to allow her to warm up to them. 😑

My little furbaby is named Zoey too!! And yes, I agree, I always let the animal decide by putting my hand out for them to smell. I do it with cats too lol. I'm not about to get my face scratched off! Lol
I’ve had my shiba for a year now, she’s a year and five months. All I can say is that breed judgement is real. I went to the dog park the other day with my friends, and people were so shocked at how social my dog was. A “friend of the world” lol and I asked multiple “why’s that?” They explained that they assumed shibas were stand off ish or anti social, and they were shocked at how friendly she was towards other dogs and people.
Hey Cody so one thing I would definitely say is the dog etiquette. One of my pain points is dogs off the leash and owners having absolutely zero recall and letting their dog approach my dog. My dog is a female just like yours she’s a Shiba and she was actually in her season at some point and as you can imagine males go absolutely crazy. So it is very important that people have immaculate recall or they just keep the dog on a leash. Unfortunately I live in the north-west of the UK where everyone is super friendly but they’re also so friendly to the point that they want all their dogs to socialise with everyone. I’ve had the dog three months now and I’ve only seen one person training the dog and keeping the dog away. The other 300? No.
When people try to force your reactive dog to meet their dog even when you tell them "my dog is NOT friendly", but then they reply "well, my dog has a way with other dogs" as they continue to approach. And after my dog predictably reacts to said other dog, other person acts surprised and tries to do it AGAIN.
Oh God yes. The response I get the most often is "Don’t worry, mine is nice" or "Mine is submissive" like ?? And then, predictably, my dog reacts, and ne their dog responds and then there’s two dogs trying to snap each other’s face off. Except mine is leashed and theirs isn’t. A mess…
I know this is awful, but if u have enough time u can tell them ur dog bites. I’ve used it a few times. I luv the kids who ask if they can meet ur dog, then it’s the time to teach how to approach ur dog, specifically.
As a dog owner of a 10 month old Toy Poodle , time management is a biggie. Having a set schedule and routines makes things easier to manage ontop of other priorities like work and etc. That way it establishes good habits and training not only for myself but also for my dog as well.
I'm happy to say that it was because of your recommendation of Sunset Ridge Puppies in Boyceville Wisconsin that I bought my shiba inu puppy as my first dog. Thank you 😊

Yep! Everyone always wants a puppy. Oh they're so cute... Yes, but... Have you ever seen the movie Beethooven? They're equally parts cute and "evil" (not in a biting sense, just destruction through playfulness potentially). Love dogs! Don't get me wrong, they're just a handful if you're not expecting it

It drives me nuts that people judge Chihuahuas not all Chihuahuas are nasty and with big ego. Exactly never meet aggressive pittbulls I really love bull breeds and rottweiler and especially Doberman but I know that I didn't have enough energy to give them exercise they need . And yes pisses me so much that people assume that it's totally ok to teke a picture of my dogs or pet them without permission! Keep your pets safe from idiotic people and their idiotic small children and orher dogs who's owners are idiotic.

Yeah I don't understand some peoples logic, if you tell me your dog is reactive I'm grateful for that heads up and will keep a safe distance!
