"It's not scary when you have Talent"
Fantastic line
Haha. Thx!!!
"just a skid plate you're good" Story of my life. 4lo and send it! Thanks for the videos, love that you share your adventures!
Haha...not the last time you will hear that in one of our videos.
Epic drone shot at the top man, nice!
Thx. It’s an epic view!!!!
Well done guys!! Awsome!!
Thank you very much!!!
Good driving! I did this trail with a 3rd gen 4Runner with 3” lift, 31s, and rear locker!
Nice man. It sure was awesome.
Love the content and rigs!
Thank you very much. Really appreciate it!!!
Great content! Thank you.
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.
Sick run fellas! This trail is on my list. Hoping to do it in 2021
Thanks man. You have to do it, it’s amazing!!!
Nice job guys 👍🏼beautiful trucks.
Thank you very much!!!
great videos this gives me more confidence in my tacoma when i get nervous around small rocks lmao
Way to go “Overlanders”! Taking one for the team. 👊
Haha it is good to do the insane stuff with a tent on your truck. Rock crawlers think you are crazy.
Very very nice !!! Amazing cars and drivers!! Regards from Costa Rica. 💪😉👊
Thank you very much. It was a total blast.
For slightly modified Tacos, u guys did really well.
Thank you very much...Overlander’s rock crawling. Haha sounds funny.
Stepping up your game!!! Intense...
Yes it certainly was. Almost too intense!!! Nahhh it was badass.
Bad ass Tacoma
Thank you very much.
Man, I haven’t been to Moab in a long time. My XJ on 33s with front and rear lockers, 4:1 t case and no sway bars had absolutely no issues out there. That’s definitely a really fun place to go! Now I’ve got a 2019 TRD OR just like yours, mine is completely stock except for 265s and a camper shell. Man I really like 35s on these things! Part of me REALLY wants to modify my truck for this but part of me loves it stock. I was actually pretty impressed what it could do stock, avoiding body damage is the limiting factor for sure. It’s nice to see a relatively simple build just go out and get used. Everyone has their own idea of what’s ideal but man, some of these “overland” rigs are just too much! It’s more like “overloading”, way too much crap and unnecessary gear just for a 72 hour weekend trip.
Thanks man. The trucks are totally capable stock but you are right. Body damage and getting stuck will kill a trip. The Tacoma is above getting to amazing places to have amazing adventures. I definitely have more planned but it’s all needed, winch bumper for self recovery, rear bumper to carry a full size spare tire, more lighting because it sucks not being able to navigate trails at night. People can defy go overboard but I’m hoping not to. Thanks for watching. Definitely take your Tacoma out and just do some trails with it. It is an Off Rod after all...hahaha!!!
You should check out the Marlin Crawler suspension, that things crazy for an IFS truck. Nothing flexes and has traction like solid axles but man their white Taco on 37s it’s awesome. I love just being able to cruise 80 in my Taco and it gets the job done. It’s the perfect family car and does better than most 4x4s so I’m super happy. You guys should run the Rubicon, I don’t think you’ll have too many issues with your truck on 35s but you’d definitely have to pick good lines. Man, now I want to build my truck.
I really like those rock lights on the runner though it’s sweet
The rock lights are really awesome.
Awesome video. Thank you. I am considering doing that trail in May in my 4Runner TRD Pro with 33’s, but was thinking about doing only the first half of the lollipop and then going back out the same way. It looks like the second half of the lollipop is much harder.
Thank you very much. And I completely agree that the second half of the lollipop is much harder. We had a 4Runner doing the same thing the day we did it. Have a great trip.
Subscribed. This was the 2nd video I watched. The 1st was the stressful hells gate video 😂 Good channel
Badass thank you so much and I’m glad you like the adventures!!!
Funny beginning 😂
Haha thank you.
The view though !!!
Yea right. Absolutely amazing!!!!
Much respect for Overlanders that have made it to the Top of the World! I'll be driving up there from Florida in July. I drive a 2004 Jeep TJ on 33's. Hopefully I won't have any issues. Since it will be a little over 2000 miles back home, I may have to use the bypasses on some of obstacles so I don't break anything. Hahahaha!
It is a kick in the ass for sure. Especially after driving cross country. The only bypass is on the big obstacle coming up. The down is where the real challenge begins. The obstacles are a lot more plentiful and the easiest way isn’t always easy. Go slow and use a spotter, and remember to have fun when you still there past dark!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Another great video Gents! Your Kingman, AZ neighbor.
Thank you very much neighbor. Truly appreciated.
You guys put out perfect content here. Great shots, great commentary and great editing. It’s rare that I watch one of these videos all the way through but I did on this. It helps that I’m a Toyota guy too. Beautiful rigs. I’m lifting my GX460 with an Ironman FCP Stage 3 and was deciding what size tires to get...sold me on at least 34s but thanks to you, gonna try to make 35s fit.
Thank you so very much. That really means a lot. Gotta love those GX’s. Trevor is thinking about getting one. They are nice. Let me know how the lift install goes and what else you had to do to fit the 35’s. I’d love to see a pic.
@@AdventureBuilt thanks and will do! I’m diving into all of your other content. It’s really great. You guys have managed to balance informative and entertaining off roading videos with a personal touch. Love the rigs, love the builds and keep up the great content. I’m sure you guys will keep growing!
Been to Moab four times, haven’t done this yet. Looking forward to it next April.
It's nice to see someone actually show how difficult this trail is. I had someone suggest that since it's easy in their lifted Jeep with 37s that I could do it in a stock Tacoma.
Hey thank you. Yea it was definitely no picnic!!!!
I bet you could.
You are correct about Top of the World not being what people say it is. The first time I ran it in 2008 I had 31s on my XJ and it was super easy. Really all the trail was about was the view. Ran it again in 2019 with 33s, locked, 4.5" lift (XJ only has 101" wheelbase) and it was totally different. Much harder, it has really gotten torn up. So if someone says it's easy, ask them when they drove it last and what they were driving.
Haha I have gotten a bunch of those comments. “Back in 93 I did it in a stock Samurai”. Cracks me up.
I am going to downsize one day from a tundra and one of these will be my next vehicle. I just can't decide. Love the fact I can stealth camp in the 4runner but then there's that no bed thing for gross things and gear.
That 4Runner needs clearance bumpers and 35’s
That what I have been saying. Thx for the second!
For Moab, that IS just an easy scenic drive. Try the Cameo cliffs trail. That is pretty easy. It’s south of town.
Right on. That is so true. We did a bunch of trails while we were in Moab and they got harder as the week went on. Looking back it is just a nice drive. Thx for watching.
Love all the videos . The white FJ that's on your videos is he locked front and rear. he seems make it easy work on all the trails
Great guys, it’s on my bucket list....when I will have a 4WD 😂
💯 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Did that trail back in Sept on my 2wd 05 Polaris Predator. I'd say I spent less than 3 hours on it, including at the Top. But unfortunately for me, that was when the stay at Moab went south on weather and was cloudy and misting. So I could barely see the bottom of the cliff face and most of my ride I was barely able to see 300-400 feet. Did bend one of my A-arms jumping off a 3 foot ledge and hit a rock under full suspension compression. Didnt spot it until I was strapping my quad on the trailer, but I knew I hit hard when I came down
Yea that trail is no joke. Sorry you had such crap weather.
@@AdventureBuilt tried to make the best of the trip since i did drive around 1200 miles with my 97 Eclipse from the Oregon coast to go there a second time. Next time I'm only bringing my 95 Suburban that has a 6 inch lift and 35s
Toyota......nothing more to be said......3rd gen 4runner 289k and still gruntin along and I love it
Oh man that is so badass. I don’t expect to keep this Tacoma that long but maybe my younger son will. 😎😎😎😎
Awesome content as usual Kelly. Trev’s 4runner is amazing considering only 33”’s but yeah not his camera work... 😂 Kelly, do you have a way to monitor your A/T temps?
Thank you so much and he was definitely killing parts of the trail. I do t have a way to monitor my A/T temps. Trevor has a gadget that Bluetooth’s it to his tablet but I don’t.
1 Love the video 2 I Really wish I could do this trail looks like so much fun but my 01 ram wouldn't make the drive there and my tacoma is stock... 3 I was hoping I could see those victory 4x4 slider lights in use pretty sure that's the in the top 5 first things to get for the tacoma.
Thank you very much and I say make your dreams happen. Not sure the Victory 4x4 sliders and the best out there. Trevor has not been super impressed with them. They are great for Overlanding but not great for hard trails.
@@AdventureBuilt I think they should be fine for what I'll take the tacoma through. I mostly go to tuttle creek orv a few times a year. I dont get out as much as I would like to...
I made it in my old montero with 30inch tires on the steps with no problem. 🤏
Nice man. I’m sure it was awesome to watch!
Great trail... Cameras never do some of those steps justice.
Thank you very much and they sure don’t. Editing the video I’m always thinking of ways to make it look more realistic to real life. Definitely not easy.
Dang I want to do this one day!
It was pretty awesome. Set a goal and go for it!!!
Looks like you guys took the harder way down, ballsy with 33's
How much trimming did you have to do for 35s!? And what lift ?
Love your videos!!!
Thanks so much. I basically only cut what I had to. I drove around with a razor knife in my pocket. When I would hear rubbing I would go look for a scrape mark and just trim that piece. It took a while to have in not rub but better than just chopping them all off. A new blade in a razor knife cuts the plastic easy.
Fantastic video! I have a 2011 forerunner with a 3 1/2 inch lift 33 inch tires and high clearance bumpers on the front in the back. I’m planning on going out with my son in October 2023. Do you think my rig would make it? I do not have real lockers, but I do have a Track.
Thank you very much. It is a hard track with your rig. Trevor slid on his skid plates a lot to get through with 33” tires. If you go with someone that knows the track I would say yes. Otherwise the hardest part was coming down around the lollipop. I would say to come back from the overlook the way you came. It’s a bit more calm.
It is more impressive that you are doing this with less modified trucks, I love your Tacoma and 4Runner.
Thank you so much...it definitely makes it more challenging but oh so rewarding!!!
Great video! Trevor’s 33 are 285/70/17?
Thank you very much and they sure are.
Do have much rubbing with the 35’s? I know you have a cab mount relocation already
I did have a bunch of rubbing but I was able to squeeze another 1/2” out of the front and back suspension and that fixed all the rubbing. 35’s are a pain but totally worth it.
@@AdventureBuilt agreed 35's are worth it!
First time in MOAB?????????????????? NO way! Want a real fun one? try kokopelli and rose garden hill! lol
If it is any harder than Top of The World or Hells Revenge I might pass.
@@AdventureBuilt props for you guys with overlanding rigs, ill stick to my motorized 2 wheeler! Rose garden is the equivalent of black bear only steeper!
Barbie Jeeps were made for people that want to spend half their time repairing them
Haha. If Jeep ever fixed the reliability issues that is all you would see on the trails for sure.
So noone is gonna metion Ben's awesome voice with his Ukulele?
I personally loved Ben’s singing!!! But I could be bias!!!
Does that 80 series not have lockers? I feel like he's gonna break something the way he drives.
The 80 definitely has lockers but it’s just a big heavy truck and he isn’t used to the terrain. He made all the trails and had a great time in the process.
All this fuss about tire size. My mini z 4x4 with it's 1 5/8" wheels could do this entire trail. If I lived in that area, I would love to shoot a video proving that. Maybe some day.😀😀
Honestly brother the video doesn’t show the steepness of the terrain. You might get that mini through the trail but you won’t like what it looks like at the end. If you do it send me the video.
@@AdventureBuilt you are right about videos not showing the steepness. The videos I take really don't show that at all from above and behind. Only side views will do that. Would love to give it a try anyway.😃😃
What lift does Trevor's 4Runner have? Just curious how mine will compare to his next week while there.
I follow your build on IG and T4R. You'll be fine. I ran this same trail 2 years ago solo, spotting myself and made it up just fine. I had a 2-2.5" Icon lift, 32.8" tires, and stock bumpers. Group of 10 fully built Jeeps in front of me did the trail a lot quicker than I did since I spotted myself but I made it up none-the-less. They were surprised my slightly built 4R made it up there.
Trevor is running the Ironman 4x4 Stage 2 Foam Cell Pro and has about 2-2.5” of lift out of it. We just recently adjusted the kit to give him 3”. Trevor also has full aluminum skid plates underneath from Victory 4x4. He definitely dragged across his skid plates a lot on Top Of The World. The most challenging part of the trail is after the scenic overlook. I wouldn’t want to come down that spotting yourself.
hard core bro. I definitely wouldn’t want to spot myself coming down those obstacles.
@@AdventureBuilt Haha well to be clear since I was by myself I went down the way I came up, so the easier side coming down. I know that "right" side is a much harder route going down.
What’s the 4Runner’s lift/tires on that trip by chance?
Trevor is running a Ironman Stage 3 FCP with about 2.5” and is running 285/75.
@@AdventureBuilt sweet thanks! Will likely be doing that sort of lift to our 4Runner soon.
Is this a trail you can camp on when you get to the top of the world?
Yea you can absolutely camp up there. Would be really awesome.
Did you air down on the tacoma?
Yea it just makes the ride nicer. I aired down to 18psi.
So what you're saying is - is that there are no jokes found on this trail? I was looking for jokes. hahaha Do we need to comb this area for jokes? How copy on the confirmation of jokes?
Great vid of course- all jokes aside (found some) that does look rowdy for a all purpose touring rig, but at least you went as a group- which I think is key. Keep up the great work, and keep an eye out for jokes- there are always jokes.
Haha thank you very much and very true.
Are u guys leaving ur ABS on?
I’m pretty sure the ABS might turn off in 4Low. Not 100% sure.
@@AdventureBuilt if u pull the abs fuse u will have more control going down ledges. Softer landings. Lol
The “jeep country” guy is a disgrace to Toyota guys! ;)
Yea he is...I’ll let him know he is banned from the channel!!!
