    I love my Lift 29.5
    I was still shooting the V3X 29.
    My V3X is now my hunting back up bow.
    I got it Mossy Oak Bottomland camo.
    My last 3 Mathew’s bows were all solid colors.
    I needed a change.
    I always take my stock strings off my new Matthews and install rogue strings.
    But I’m giving this stock Match strings a shot this time.
    So far after 1000-1500 shots my peep hasn’t budged at all.
    Time will tell

      Agreed! After break in I had zero peep rotation but was a little out of time! No complaints though!

    I took the fat grip off and installed grip tape and the torque problem disappeared. I don’t know why Mathews would continue to put a rounded grip on these knowing people steadily complain about it.

    • @jasonbarnes3188
      @jasonbarnes3188 Před 7 měsíci +6

      Because they sell more bows than any other company and most people like it. I like the engage grip a lot myself.

      @@jasonbarnes3188 I’m glad it works for you. Unfortunately the rounded edges seem to be the main complaint because it magnifies torquing for a lot of people.

    I use the old uv grip still.. I'm sure the 2nd version is a lot better, especially with the rounded edges. My v327 still holding strong.

    We have several Matthews bows and love the handles and balance.. if you don't like it it can easily be changed.. I'm sure Matthews incorporates what sells and people that are not repeating customers don't rank high on their lists.

    • @huntncast9313
      @huntncast9313  Před 5 měsíci

      Agreed! I think that’s the great thing about Mathews. You would think they would change their grips close to what bowtech has done. But I love the uv grip so goes hand in hand lol

    If your limbs twisted in the press, then you set your fingers incorrectly.

    • @huntncast9313
      @huntncast9313  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I think I didn’t make this point very clear and it’s my fault. You are correct on that. But I think Mathews improved this bow just by not having to be so tedious with the finger adjustments! Thanks for the comment!

    • @michaelcolthart4006
      @michaelcolthart4006 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@huntncast9313 another thing to consider when pressing newer Mathews bows in a LCA press is to have the fingers all the way forward. It prevents the steel tabs from contacting the pressured limbs and splitting them. The near parallel orientation at brace puts the limbs much closer to the finger bases.

    • @huntncast9313
      @huntncast9313  Před 7 měsíci

      Agreed! Honestly wish they made fingers that went further out (they may I’ve just not looked) just to help with taking it out of the press without having to open the press so much

  • @TRC1989
    @TRC1989 Před 6 měsíci

    I shot it and it felt stupid light, like I was going to have to add a bunch of weight to it to be stable. The draw was stiff. Not smooth. Felt like at 75 with the v3x or phase 4 was equal to the 65lbs on the lift. Shoulder killer for sure. Giving up a bunch of stability to I guess walk it into the woods slightly lighter or just as heavy with the added weight just to shoot accurately. Good strings though.

    • @huntncast9313
      @huntncast9313  Před 5 měsíci

      I’ve felt after shooting thousands of arrows I’ve not needed to add more weight than usual to make it feel super stable while shooting. So I think that’s great as itself. It’s super stable as is. But at further ranges with the back bar and front it feels absolutely amazing.

  • @jasonard7227
    @jasonard7227 Před 7 měsíci +1

    sounds like you need help I work on many v3x bows with the fingers that come with the LCA press zero issues thats not a limb issue but a user issue

    • @huntncast9313
      @huntncast9313  Před 7 měsíci

      I’ve worked on both phase 4 and v3x. And if the fingers are not absolutely perfect you had problems… with this bow they eliminated that in my opinion! Probably should’ve went more into that. Thanks!

  • @malcolmjohnson5941
    @malcolmjohnson5941 Před 6 měsíci +1

    With a 27” draw there’s no real reason for you to shoot the 33” bow.

    • @huntncast9313
      @huntncast9313  Před 6 měsíci +1

      That’s debatable. If they didn’t make the bow in a 27” draw I’d understand but they do so why not? It might not be the most efficient but it definitely is the most accurate. Which is what I was going for! I loved that bow just bc I shot so good with it!

    Mathews does not serve their loops by design. They believe not serving has benefits. I have never seen a durability issue with them not being served and no serving means not separation at all critical contact point.

    • @huntncast9313
      @huntncast9313  Před 6 měsíci

      Agreed. Only thing is this is me being picky. Looks is a big thing for me and if it doesn’t “look” as good as it functions then I’m not going to say it’s the best string on the market. If it looks as good as it functions then I’ll say it is. As of rn I give the strings a 4.5 on function and a 3 maybe 2.5 on looks. Again, just another opinion!

    • @DoubleMiddleOutdoors
      @DoubleMiddleOutdoors Před 6 měsíci

      @@huntncast9313 I guess that is fair if you are grading a looks. But I think that is an opinion that should be thrown out with that caveat. Personally I see not value in picking form over function on bowstrings if those items are at odds. It would be like having a race car and picking the tires for it based on how it will look in the winners circle and not whether it will get you there in the first place
