If too many people come here it'll be a "Pana-monium." No but seriously #Panama really is like the "bridge between two worlds" linking North and South. And now they've become a sort of "Singapore-esque" nation with lots going on. ENJOY! Feel free to let me know anything I should've added to this episode!

As a Costa Rican I can confirm Panama is our best friend, except when it comes to football.
🇵🇦🇵🇦🇨🇷🇨🇷
This.
Even when it comes to football, Every Costa Rican was happy that we lost to them and made them reach the World Cup. We love Panama 🇨🇷🇵🇦
We're especially best friends when it comes to football! CR helped Panama get into the World cup.
Even if you're football rivals, it can't be as bad as when El Salvador invaded Honduras over a World Cup qualifier match.

There are around 200,000 Chinese Panamanians living in Panama BTW FYI (Geography Now) (around 5% of the population). Also love your channel 🥰 Panama Canal was also built by Chinese and Jamaicans and many other immigrants. They deserve credit too for building the canal and contributions to Panama’s society 🤦🏻♀️ Also hola from a fellow Panameña 🇵🇦
@Austen Hernandez this is the official data from Panamanian government. I know because I'm Panamanian. 16% it's not a small thing. It's more than the population of any other province in the country (exception of panama province). The guy made an incredible work
He mentioned Jamaicans but I didn’t hear anything about Chinese Panamanians.
Its true though, you can find them in small stores to get snacks
Thank you for this comment. I just read it after mentioning this too. I'm Chinese-Panamanian and my great-grandpa was the first in our family to move to Panama almost a century ago.

Panama City (Florida): *exists*
Panama City: wait wut
Panama City FL received its name since if a straight line is drawn in the map from where is located to the south it crosses over Panama City. At its foundation the canal construction was trendy so they used it as a name to attract people live there.

There is also influence from the French language in the Panamanian lingo. For example the word "Beaucoup" , which means a lot in French, is used in Panama as "buco" to mean the same.
Woooow didnt know that y siempre lo digo xD
Actually 'Que Xopa?" is spanish for "que paso?" or "whats happening" but backwards.
One of the natives in the videos pronounced "xopa" as /tsopa/ which does hint that it could be from whaTSUP.
@@jaroslavlosos5498 it's spanish pig Latin. Panamanian people invert words. Que pasó is que (x)sopa, primo is mopri, tío is otí, hambre is breham, and so forth. The english words are guial - girl, fren-friend, man- any person, chillin-chilling, parkin-parking or also used to refer to hanging out with friends

I love how Panama has it's own tectonic plate
We all rely by the saying "God is Panamanian" "Dios es Panameño" because we don't have (so far) tornadoes, hurricanes, whirlpools, tsunamis or any hardcore weather.
When that plate elevated it divided the Atlantic and the pacific oceans, forming the climate that gave rise to the evolution we now know, so literally humans wouldn't exist without the Panama tectonic plate.

Old clothes is a type of meat that we eat in Panama. It is really delicious.
John Dee. Old Clothes is a kind of meat 🥩. It has really a good taste.
Actually, “old clothes” (just like so many Latin America traits) comes from my country. Ropa Vieja is a very popular dish here in Spain!
Old clothes are pieces of meat that reseamble raged clothes!
The meat cuct is called skirt and is the cow's diaphragm
There are also a ton of Chinese in Panama who are descendants of the Chinese who built the canal.
Already told them that for the 10th time :/ hope it comes this friday
Thats probably why panama is the best in math in latin america.

My completely chinese family has been in Panama for 80 years, we came to sale wares to those builders as part of the 2nd wave of chinese immigrants. There’s then a 3rd wave of immigrants who came escaping communism, and now a new 4rth one looking for economic opportunities.
Yeeeeeaaaah! I was so shocked they didn't mentioned on the video. Chinese convenient stores, for example, are a very normal thing and we got lots of influence. Just go to Chiriquí and you'll see the one of the highest concentration of Chinese-Panamanians in the country.

The reenactment of Panama's history was fun - especially with the us just forcing itself there. Good job on the video!
I don't think any country has *begged* the interference of the US, although I am sure it is written in your "history books" that was done for humanitarian reasons and to bring democracy there....
@@JuanMartinez-bs9ck problably the only ones who begged where the separatists
@@Destroyer-od5dm yes and no. Separatist were of course nowhere near happy with the central government, however the video does give a hint and what actually happened. The Colombian government did not want the US involvement on the construction of the canal, so the US sold the separatist the idea that they would support independence without requiring anything back from them, so afterwards the US basically invaded Colombia and send also warships to block the Colombian ports. Once Panama was granted independence under this amicable environment, the US flexed their muscles again against the separatist, making them sign a treaty that would give the US complete control of the canal forever.
Basically the US used their well known "bigger army diplomacy" against everyone involved just meet their goals.
@Jonathan Williams please read my lengthy answer before, thanks.
I was waiting for this for so long! Thanks guys I really like it. Greetings from Panama !!!
You guys are running this show too fast. But I have to admit I’m an old man. Lots of good information, practical for people who planning to visit or move permanently. You did a good job!
I agree
You can always use the option to playback at a slower speed. I find that helps.
@@subpolarity Me, too -- that option is in the little gear icon near the bottom right of the video as it's playing. Click to change the speed.
panama to brazilians = where the plane stop so we can take the connection to miami
Don't forget visiting boquete town
Love to visit Panama one day. Beautiful country 🙌
Finally my country PAPUA NEW GUINEA's next. Been watching GN just over an year now and to say I'm excited IS an understatement. 🤩🙌🏾
I remember a few years ago 2 girls got lost forever in this pass near boquete and we're never found, except for their phones of which multiple confusing and creepy photos were found in them. One corpse was found with bones. Very spooky.
I am Panamanian and I remember that.
I think they may have been eaten by a jaguar or another big animal, because they went by themselves, to the jungle, not knowing the road...
They also only found a foot with the sneaker still on. And an animal wouldn't be able to eat that.
Well, that was a sad case.
Theres a myth about a tribe called indios conejos that Eat people and lives in caves deep in the mountains
Yes a pair of Dutch girls
Yea! Panama is low-key FABULOUS! Thank you for the segment!!!

I'm from Panama and enjoyed it a lot, keep up the good work!
This was very well put together! Great job! I am a Panamanian, Spanish teacher always looking for resources. Thank you! I love it
One of the best episodes yet, and I have visited Panama twice, really nice people, scenery, nature and such a rich culture, lots of things were missed out in the video though
3:34 Bro those are just minecraft trees
Bruh moment
PLEASE PLEASE! Just let me go ONE day without a bruh moment
As a Panamanian. This video was pretty on point. Great job ❤️💪🏽
Fun fact, Justine Pasek is half Polish, she was born to a Polish father and Panamian mother (it's beyond me how a Panamian found themselves in eastern Europe during the cold war) they moved to Poland to a city called Wożuczyn which is very close to my home city Zamość. Then they moved to Panama
Nice to hear Ropa vieja is a National dish in Panama. It’s also famous in Cuba
We eat a lot of the same, we should be siblings
We also have carimañolas which I recently know from a "Pero Like" video you call them yuca rellena 😱😱
Oh my God, the Harpy Eagle looks so cool! I'd take that as my national animal any day!
Greetings from Germany, which has an arguably less cool national eagle.
But you have a kids book about a tiger who wants to go to Panama or something like that
@@melissamoran5626 But Janosch never interested me as a kid.
YOU GUYSSSSSS OMG!!!! I was waiting for this and u did a great job! So happy. Keep up the good work.
As an educator and new resident of Panama, I approve this message! Great information!
