you are the only person In the whole internet who actually explains how to do this properly
Your an awesome educator and I am addicted to your channel.
Follow maksim nikitochkin he is also a great worker, they' re the 2 best youtuber
Thank you so much for giving the masses free education! I'm a beauty school dropout with chronic illness. I cut my own hair just because it's physically too hard to get into the salon. Your videos have made my life so much easier!! I appreciate your tips for students/practicing hairdressers too - like what kind of mannequin heads you use. Practice makes better beauty! 💕
THANK YOU for teaching that the strong line helps strengthen the cut, and you can STILL give it lots of movement, without shattering the crap out of the structure. I like to razor cut, too, but this just confirms to the client, WHY regular cuts are important for keeping a style looking fabulous. This is just as loose, free and sexy, and really an easy cut to follow.
I'm with you 100% on the base being more solid. It gives a much more organized feel to the cut while not being too rigid. The combination of layers and blunt ends is bomb! Thanks for the video.
I love that you don't know the Kardashians' names
They're all men, anyway!
Do people know the names
You've got an excellent modern cultural point. My BRILLIANT parents had a vague idea who they were ONLY bc 1) relations of the lawyer father(OJ trial) & 2) Kim for trashy sex video.
NOT knowing about Kardashians is TRULY a badge of intellectual honor during these crazy global (political, philosophical, spiritual & economic) times which demands that wise healthy people prioritize their time & focus to produce good outcomes for their families & lives!
Me too. Dudes in dresses, luciferians... they are the fallen watcher angels that were released after Christ's 1000 year reign.
You guys are saving careers, you don't even know, lol!!!! God bless you all!!? I love FSE!!!!
Awesome!
Free Salon Education p
Absolutely, God bless you Matt!!!
I love the way that you teach and make the cut so easy to do with your technique. I also love that you show how to style the hair. You are gifted at teaching! 🙏🏻Thank you very much! ❤️
Fantastic haircut!! Best use of time with a superior result! Excellent!! I'm a 30 year veteran in the hair business and I learned more useful and progressive education from you compared to any hair show I've been to in the past 10 years. Hats off to you and your well deserved success!!
so glad you demoed this cut. I feel like every client has been coming in with pictures of this haircut!!
thank you so much for this! i tried it on myself and it turned out perfectly , i'm not a hairstylist at all but i tried my best!! i'm willing to experiment !!! your videos are lovely ...
You know the tutorial is bomb when you can do this haircut on yourself, with 4 hours of sleep, during a slightly manic episode, on dry hair, with chunky kitchen scissors ✂️ 👍 😂 and it STILL comes out great!! ❤
Thank you for posting this! I cut my daughter’s hair using this technique. I’ve never done more than trim my kids’ hair so this was pretty drastic. It worked out great though! And she loves it. ❤️
Thank you so so much for this video! Honestly I was dreading to go to the salon because most people that work at those places here make you feel like you're a defendant in court and that you're guilty by default but you gotta go through the interrogatory anyway and the worst thing is that they don't even know how to cut hair and have the nerve to charge after that. Lucky for me I found your video and it's so well done my Mom cut it for me and it looks awesooome!!! Great instructions, great quality of video, love you Matt, you saved my hair :)
Love! Cut this on a client the week after watching and she loved it. Easy to mimic your step by step...thanks!
Best tutorial ever. Thank you so much. This cut is foolproof. I followed every step and it came out beautifully.
Just cut this style today....I am so excited, works beautifully, client was over the moon!!! Obviously, some customizing was necessary.
Love this cut! And I've used it a lot lately! 😊 thank you so much. Keep the cuts coming 🙏🏻👍🏻
Thank you! I couldn’t find anybody who is doing this and I didn’t think entering in messy choppy was going to get me anything but thank you so much for describing this cut this way which allowed me to find you I love it and you made it so simple!
I just love the cut! Your an amazing stylist to watch and learn from! Great job and again thanks for sharing your talent...
Love all your videos and greatly appreciate all that you do. I love that you have such a passion for hair and teaching. I never had subscribed to anyone on CZcams before but after watching your coffee talk interview today it motivates me to get more involved with social media. You had so many good points on that video and i cant wait to get into the salon tomorrow and start recording videos of my work instead of just pictures. It’s so true how we need to engage with our viewers more and who you want to see your work and not just worry about followers, but to make that connection. Sorry for the long comment just wanted to thank you!!!!!!!!! Your amazing
Wow. You don't even know how grateful I am to have found this channel. Not only do you cover some of the basics I learned in hair school, but really how to properly apply those basics, such as shape of the head in relation to cutting lines. Not to mention this particular haircut, which I have actually stressed a bit to myself while browsing pinterest and seeing this haircut again and again that I wouldn't quite know how to get it just right if a client requested this.
Thank you so much for this easy to follow, excellently explained tutorial! I cut my hair at home and just tried this cut for the first time. It looks better than if I would have went to a professional! I'll be referring to this video in the future! I LOVE this cut! Thanks, again!
I love FSE so much!!! I watch these videos all day long on my off days! 💖 Matt, you're AMAZING! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Ohhh yay this was helpful, thanks!! You should do a video on troubleshooting layers. I feel like sometimes my layers can be slightly choppy, not flowing.
Love this cut! Used your method for cutting get my own hair the other day and I love it! Thanks for the great videos!
I used this technique today! Client loved the results so did I! Thank you!!
This is awesome to hear! Thanks for sharing
I'm going to a Pivot Point member school. I love watching your videos to help reinforce what I'm learning in school. Our manikins are the snap cap ones. Not exactly fond of them. We have the older version of them and they're difficult to change the caps. Love your videos, again helps me to reinforce what I'm learning in school.
Love it! You're very interesting to watch, and your thought process is amazing.
I did it, thank you, I'm a cosmetology student in Canada. Great instructions.
This is a beautiful ,great and prefect hair cut .Thank you with my best wishes for you and your company .
Just did this on my hair with side bangs and it turned out fabulous. The easiest tutorial I have seen so far for this type of cut that I been searching for. Thanks for the video.
I wanted to thank u for all u posts you do for all of us fellow hairdressers. After 14 years in the business and a teacher myself u have given me such valuable lessons and u are a true educater. Hope to make it to learn from u in person one day! Thanks again!
A from Israel
Love watching your videos. So informative. Explaining why you do things the way you do. I could watch your vlogs all day. Thank you so much
Love his hair cut I love that you simplified it for us . Iam looking forward to doing this hair cut Thankyou😊
No one in my town can do this cut. I'm going to challenge it myself. Thank you for this wonderful video.
OMG I love your videos you explain everything so well, thank you again for another awesome video;)
Can you do a tutorial on “mature” haircuts? I’m in Beauty School and we have a lot of older client walk ins and their hair is so fragile (usually not all the time) and I have trouble cutting while weight distributing
Such a great cut and easy to understand like always!! You guys do an awesome job!
Awesome thanks 👍🏻
I just tried this cut on myself, in a way you'd probably shiver at - with dry hair, cheap scissors and a lot of guesswork (I'm not a hair stylist). But guess what? It STILL came out great!! So I guess that is how amazingly clear and concise your video is;). Thanks!
Thank you for making this video! Exactly what I was looking for.
Would you please demonstrate an A line bob on curly hair??
Thank you so much for this video and I loved it !! I'm going to use this technic on my client hair tomorrow !!!!
Love your videos Matt, could you do a video just on the various ways you section hair and why? I know you have a specific way that you section hair that seems slightly different in almost every video but Im having a hard time retaining all of them.I know you explain your reasons for the partings before each cut but If you could do one video with a rundown on how you go about choosing which sectioning to use I could write them down and categorize it in my brain better.. hope that makes sense and again thanks so much for the education. Your vids are priceless!
I have fine hair and I like to cut it myself. I was having a tough time figuring out how to get this cut and your explanation and demonstration is perfect!!! Thank you for taking the time (but not too much,) to break this down. AMAZING!
I have fine hair too and can't find a stylist that can ever create the looks I'm going for. I feel like I have never had a great hair cut. I'm fairly adept at cutting my own hair to some degree but how in the world were you able to do this on your own? Particularly the back....I would appreciate any advice or tips :)
I love all of your education videos! I would love to learn what I could about doing at least some of these hair cuts on women who have very, very dense hair. Thank you!
Love it !I'm going to try this technique soon ! Thank you for this video !
I have naturally curly hair and did this haircut on myself today. It came out great. Thanks for the great video.
You did it yourself?? How??
I wanna do it to :3
I have naturally curly hair as well. My question is: how long the top layer is relation to the guide from center back? I assumed it would be long than the back guide and not curl as well?
Hair salons are mad at youtube... I can do my own Bob at home Aleluya 💇♀️
Me too.
Can you really do this to your own hair?
Loved the free flow cut!!!
Thanks keep sending videos
✂️
The curls are distracting to seeing the finished haircut 🤷♀️… Can you please smooth it (even with just a brush) before you Curl it next time? I really wanted to see your cut
This!! Like I need to see what it actually looks like, there’s no point in the video if we can’t see the outcome 😅
I just did this to my best friend and it turn out good I love it.. Thanks for explaining every step..
this helped me with styling. I feel the woman who cut my hair did it and really didn't walk me through to keep it looking like this. Thank you
Wow I think you explained more in one haircut video than my teachers did in two years of cosmetology school! Amazing video, thank you! Subscribed!
loved this cut, im a real big fan. im gonna try it myself now!
Thanks Matt for deconstructing the haircut and showing it step by step, very helpful! I have two haircuts that I am curious about, one is the Rachel (Jennifer Anniston's character on Friend's) and the second is how to properly taper a man's neck line like a barber. Thanks for helping us out in the field, it is very, very much appreciated.
Great cut as usual Matt; thanks! Good point mentioning the SAI with the Pivot Point mannequin-that's a serious issue in many countries.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 thanks!!
finally found what I was looking for just love it
Thank you so much for all the videos you post....you rock ...keep em coming 👍🏻
Super clear, organised, methodical approach. Thank you!
gorgeous. I can't wait to be able to try this!!
This was really fun to watch i cant wait to do it in the salon
This was SO HELPFUL. Thank you 🙌🏻
So glad you did this I have been looking for this style for a long time
You, Sam Villa, and Guy Tang are my favorite hair channels on CZcams.
Matt, question: when you are starting to cut the right side of her head (7.21 mins in) are you taking your guide to cut those side layers from the back layer you just cut? I keep trying to rewatch and determine as I see you bring in a little piece, but I just want to be sure! Thanks for all your fabulous videos! HUGE fan!😘
Just did this cut on my mum after watching this video a ridiculous amount of times, she loves it!!
Love it and it is a fantastic style! Thanks for sharing this with us...
This is the most helpful video I’ve ever found- THANK YOU
thank you so much !! you are awsome
I have learned a lot of things from you guys
God Bless and keep up the good work!
Having a straight end to a curl really does make a difference. It makes it look natural and carefree!
OMG I totally love this haircut!! I wish you were in Australia to cut my hair!!
I cant get enough of watching you . You are my role model . Amazing .
Another beautiful amazing haircut video!
Thank you!👍👍👍
Just a quick question. If the client parts their hair on a specific side, would you change how you cut the horseshoe section?
Thank you! I tend to cut my own hair and you've just showed me how to get a more polished messiness🤗 I will try to follow your work in the front of my head since I've already cut the back shorter than you have. Wish I would've seen this before last night 🤦🏽♀️.
Love this!! Wanted my hair like this and the stylist I went to cut it way too short. 😕. Gotta let it grow out now before I can get this style.
Thank you!! Love this video!! You are an amazing teacher!!
Hey Matt, great cut! This might be obvious but I missed your determining length when you pulled the side straight up. Did you use your guide piece from the top of the back section?
Your videos are great! You explain it so well thank you!!
Gorgeous cut 💜💕
LOVE watching your videos!
Great job! Love the cut! 💗
I am a student so this is really great and useful to me! saving my grades
Wow that’s the best and the simplest tutorial I’ve seen. After 89 other videos! Thanks❤
Thank you for this video!!! Haircut of my dreams...I have fine, wavy hair....this always works for me.
Love it!! Just a lilbit too layered on top for me , great video anyxay
Thanks so much! My hair turned out great!💇🏼♀️
When he holds it like that and you think of Medusa 😂😂😂
Yes! I was just about to say, she looks like a gorgon
Great video, thanks for all the work!
Yessss I've been looking for this and then I found your channel. I study make-up and hair but we also learn how to color and cut hair because we learn how to make wigs and we need to know how to style them. But we only learn these super boring and dated hairstyles. This channel is a lifesafer!
Stunning!!
U guys are doing amazing. U explain everything soo gud. Luv u guys
Thanks Matt you're the best 😊
Love it! You are really genius.❤️
Great video!! Thanks so much! Exactly what I am trying to achieve! Can you tell me how long is the guide on top? Thanks
thank you guys for choosing my cut! I was half asleep and saw the headline. ..then saw my question and thought I was delusional. ;) very helpful, I have a few different methods I use now so I can definitely add this... it's much quicker and more structured, since I do always end up going in with a razor. Jose Rivera had a good follow up to this, he asked what if the client wants to have a slight A line in the front? :) would you change up the sectioning?
thanks again! jen
Can you help me understand what you mean by A-line front??
+chilloften slightly longer toward the chin ;)
Haha you're welcome! I would change my finger angle during elevation to work shorter from the crown to longer at the face. Then once the layers were cut I would hold everything straight down just like I did in the video but instead of cutting square I would change my finger angle to represent the line I want at the base.
Awesome thanks! ;)
I'd add a photo if I could :/
✂✂✂Love it your amazing I would love to see what you could do with my thin hair
looks great. i'd love that cut for myself but could never cut it myself like that.
Definitely going to use this~
Did this haircut on myself last night and I love it!!!
