I am aware how big IU years ago but never really delved into her music, I was just a fan of actor IU but when I watched her drama My Mister I was in awe, so I started to listen to her songs and this live performance made me a huge fan of singer IU. This is also the video I send to my friends who don't know how talented she is ❤
My Mister is how I discovered IU. From the 1st episode she had so captured my heart I would go to bed at night worrying about her. After I discovered she was a singer it took me awhile to get up the nerves to actually hear her sing. Because I didn't know anything about Kpop and I didn't want to not like her music. So I started watching CZcams videos of some of her behind the scenes stuff. And started to hear some of her songs in the background. I didn't know it at the time but I was already well entrenched in the IU rabbit hole and have been inviting as any others as I can to join me.
GrayhairedIUfan back in support. I too have used this video to introduce people to IU, this and Blueming Love Poem Concert. There is a video of this performance that has subtitles. The only problem is that viewing it doesn't credit IU's video with a view. But the lyrics are very accurate. I have found some people who will almost immediately have a negative reaction if there aren't English subtitles. Now I like you grew up in the 60's and 70's and I can say in all honesty that I very rarely understood what most of those guys were actually saying. So I have always appreciated the music and the voice with or without understanding the actual words. And there is no one who communicates emotions through her singing better than IU. I have to admit that I tend to get a little short tempered with those type of reactions or comments. My younger brother made just such a comment and if we had been 55 years younger I would have kicked his ass, like I did on a daily basis growing up. Which I am convinced helped prepare him to get through West Point and retire as a General. But you know he never thanked me for that either. Well I digress. This song came out of her best friend’s death. She was moaning for her friend Sully who committed suicide due to cybe attack. That’s why she was wearing just black and white and the stage was very simple. It was to show her solemn mood and grief. You can see, she wasn’t smiling.
