This is such a great idea. My husband always leaves 3-4 slices of bread that he won’t eat. He has a sweet tooth. Now I have a way to trick him into eating the entire loaf. 😂

Dates are only rough guidelines. The products SHOULD AT LEAST be good till then, but it can be good far longer or less than the given date. Always use your own senses and estimate on everything you eat. If it looks, smells and feels fine it's probably good. If it's moldy, bloated, stinky, mushy, sour etc when it shouldnt be it's probably not good anymore

I'm sure by "expired" she means bread that hasn't molded but past the sell by date.
Probably she put it in the fridge. It became long lasting till a week or more (i forgot)

It could also mean stale, like just to the point where you wouldn't want to use it for a sandwich, as it is too dry

Yes you can use stale bread, as long as it's not molded. And I'd recommend using no-salt or low-sodium bread. Salty bread won't taste good with sweet whipped cream. 🤗
@@msshiandmrhe breads always either become moldy OR stale, no in-between and certainly can't be both in one loaf. The moldy ones are a result of too many preservatives. Whereas stale means that it's is superior since it can be used for things like your strawberry cake or to make some croutons.
