    WNBA Stars FREEZE Out Caitlin Clark... In this video we are going to be talking about Caitlin Clark, the number 1 pick in the WNBA draft and how she is hated by WNBA players. Caitlin Clark was drafted number 1 by the indiana fever after being one of the greatest college basketball players of all time. WNBA players like A'Ja Wilson, Diana Taurasi, Breanna Stewart and Sue bird are not fans of the number 1 pick.

    You can't really compare Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark situations. Angel Reese has the full support of her coach. AR got drafted on a Sky team that knew exactly what to do with her skill set. Whereas Indiana drafted Caitlin Clark but they have no clue what to do and are wasting her talent.

    Caitlin has been playing nearly constant basketball since last October. Now she's with a bad team with an incompetent coach coupled with a maelstrom of negativity relentlessly pursing her on social media. She's only human and, given her WNBA conditions her rookie year, was bound to hit a wall at some point. She looks deflated and beaten down at times. Now you can put that all on her, but that is grossly unfair. Over the course of her career Caitlin Clark is going to just fine and be one of the best ever to play the game. Her WNBA career is off to a tough start, but all things considered, she's still setting records and playing decent basketball. I just wish people would show a little more compassion. Caitlin doesn't go around pounding her chest about what a superstar she is. She's just a young woman who loves basketball trying to be the best player she can possibly be. To top it off, she seems to be a genuinely good, smart, and decent human being who wants to have a possible impact on women's basketball and the lives of young kids who love her. Win or lose, we should all admire her.

      She’s not the only one who has been playing constant basketball. That’s was a horrible way to start your argument. Every last rookie have a different battle to face , some are getting cut. When they said she would struggle y’all called them haters and now tryna use the same excuse is crazy. Ppl knew before ncaa was over what team she was going too. Where was this attitude then. Y’all fans weren’t being realistic or compassionate then. The WNBA is currently a post game before anything else. But no y’all just knew cc was gonna change that, now she going through it bc her unrealistic fans and y’all want the coach fired and compassion while sliding in slick comments towards other players. That’s crazy.

If she plays close to 40 every single night where the other plays 20-30 a night it makes a hell of a difference as the season progresses. CC would not struggle if she felt supported by her teammates and her coach. Her coach with no game plan to clear her out of double coverage but she wants her to take 15 shots or more per game. The other thing people don’t get if CC fails it will hurt the WNBA way more than it will help it.

      @finisher3x Před dnem

      Charlie, while the majority of your post is correct, a line in your post is also points to the problem. "Over the course of her career, Caitlin Clark is going to be just fine and be one of the best ever to play the game."
      A lot of the Caitlin Clark fans absolutely thought she could play the same way in the WNBA, that she did in Iowa. When vets like Sheryl Swoopes and Diana Taurasi told everyone that Caitlin would struggle coming out the game, they were called "haters". But they were proven to be 100% correct with their assessments.
      And what Clark fans ( and sometimes even Mick ) do, is blame everyone . . . except Caitlin Clark. Caitlin, for a rookie, has had a very good year. But the fact that fans of her expected her to be a top 5 player in the WNBA from Day 1, was truly unrealistic.
      And the outside pressure put on Caitlin from people that don't even watch women's basketball ( i.e. the political pundits and blogs ), is astronomical. Their political, sexist and racist spin on things make it even worse for Caitlin. DiJonai Carrington's tweet toward Caitlin a few weeks agon, was more toward her fans chirping at her on social media. At least Mick tries to clean things up in that regard, for the most part, and explain things in basketball terms, and not the political BS that others break it down to.
      Instead of just letting Caitlin play ball and figure things out as a rookie, there's always some conspiracy theory by her fans ( and her outside interests ) as to why she's not playing like she did at Iowa. None of the other rookies is getting that kind of scrutiny. Only Caitlin.

    Many basketball fans expected this eventually. People have been taking advantage of Caitlin because of her popularity by pushing their own monetary and political agendas. They have focused and pushed on the narrative of the league and WNBA players being jealous and hating Clark because it gets attention and clicks. People are really benefitting from doing this and I have seen views and subscriptions go up markedly for people who use tags implicating " Caitlin hate, or jealousy. When you go to view, many times they either really talk about something else or just go on talking about jealousy or hating narrative. The truth is that neither the WNBA, the WNBA players nor anyone in the league have anything to gain from Hating Caitlin, quite the opposite. The people who handle and manage Caitlin have allowed opportunists to take over narrative in a negative way and leaving her isolated. If everything related to her gets spun or twisted, no one wants to get caught in the madness...we can now see that it is even starting to isolate her from her coach and team. The WNBA produces a lousy product, almost unwatchable. But, Caitlin Clark is a joy to watch play this game, but it’s getting depressing to watch her get beaten down by this nasty clown show that is the WNBA. A clown show that’s completely dependent on the NBA’s charity, and I think that has affected their ability to understand that all sports, even their sport, are dependent upon the fan base. The NBA has been losing its fan base for years and that trend continues. If that trend continues, eventually the NBA may have to stop funding the WNBA. CC was and still is a golden opportunity for all of the WNBA but they just don’t get it. Talk about killing the goose that lays the golden eggs, but that’s exactly what the WNBA is doing

Also, why would someone like Wilson be expected give advice to someone on the opposing team advice in game?
    But I think you have it right. Caitlin seems more of an introvert than Reese and Brink. The latter two seemed to have built up pre existing relationships with players before this year, so it’s not surprising they have better relationships with players now.

      @@jsanders9975 yup. I can see a situation where there is unfortunately a lot of toxicity by many (not all) Caitlin Clark fans that leads to the Fever not being able to hire a good coach (because any good coach will see it as a toxic situation where the coach will get crucified for any losses and even during wins when Clark doesn’t get her numbers; the pay at $500k isn’t worth the toxicity and hatred compared to what they can make elsewhere like in college).
      Their best players will want to jump ship (I really hope a book eventually comes out, but it wouldn’t surprise me if players like Boston, Mitchell, Smith, etc are thinking to themselves this is the least fun and most miserable they’ve ever been in their lives because of the toxic circus).
      And they won’t be attractive to free agents (eg, Carrington would be a great pickup next year for them but why would she want to join this toxic cesspool when she can resign or sign elsewhere-the best players will get their salary money). You might say being associated with Clark will get you more endorsement money, but so far as I can tell none of the other Fever players have really benefited-it’s more like a Michael Jordan vs his teammates situation where he became a billionaire while players like Scottie Pippen and others didn’t really get as much as you think he would have gotten.

You can be better than the player to mentor the player. Third, you can't compare Angel and CC situation.. The Sky has a hall-of-fame coach, a WNBA defensive MVP, a WNCAA champion, and the assistant coach in the NBA, where Zion said she was critical to his growth and mental health during injury. She knows how crucial culture is to the locker room and what it takes to get the best out of her players(Which is what you're seeing with Chennedy Carter and Angel Reese).
    Coach Sides isn't the best coach for a generationally talented player(To her credit, only a few people are). CC would fare much better with a coach who played the game so they can see things the way she sees them while helping her understand where she went wrong and how she can correct it.

    We are looking in the wrong places a lot of this has to do with Caitlin clarks character. Caitlin Clark seems to always be distant from everyone she doesn't seem outgoing and social. Kaitlyn Clark's team hasn't embraced her because she hasn't embraced her team. Everyone who watches woman's basketball hears the noise and here's the ill will spew at all of her teammates by her fans she is the only one that doesn't scene to hear it. Caitlin Clark says she is disconnected from social media an outside noise but this outside noise is affecting her teammates. When you don't address these problems knowing that everything you say is her an amplifier why would your teammates feel like you have their back so in turn they are distant from her. The vets in the league as add to hear from the media and a few NBA players that they are hating and jealous when given their opinion so most people will not reach out to you unless you reach out to them after seeing Caitlin not addressing things it almost seems as if she's in agreement. Nobody ever rejected her Caitlin hasn't reached out

Even with Alyssa Thomas (who choke slammed her). Respectfully, there is also probably a cultural gap that doesn’t lend to a natural relationship. Not everything is a slight, she just maybe needs to find personalities that more organically align with her temperament and they can advise her.

    You say "she can be taken out of games" like she goes cold. She is being taken out of games by her coach and teammates when they purposely take the ball out of her hands and sit her in the corner. They arent putting her in a situation to succeed. Replay the games and look at the crap screens they are setting for her. She is putting up good numbers despite her team, her coach and being blitzed on defense. If you ask me it seems like the opposing coaches thinks she's rookie of the year by the way they're setting their defense up for CC and only CC. Seems like they dont think any of the other fever players are threatening enough. All the attention is focused on Clark even when she doesnt have the ball. And the vets embrace martin because she doesnt get all the attention clark does. The aces vets would ice her out as well

    The fans and the media is the reason why no vets give Caitlin any advice. Y’all basically crapped 💩 on the entire league as if their skills were trash and Caitlin was the coming greatness & the long awaiting that the WNBA needed. That would make any person say well damn… If such person is so great what the hell am I to do to help her cause clearly she supposedly great already. Also Caitlin never paid homage to any Veteran, not a single one. She just road that hero horse that was painted as if the hype was real. You can’t trash all these veterans who’s been playing for years then turn around and ask them to help someone who’s labeled the best of all time before they even get to the league. Make that make sense…. Its not about ticket sells or butts in the seat, all that can be fabricated just from one rich person who just decided to spend money just because he can but understands nothing about what he’s spending money on.

      Excellent analysis, I was going to write something similar, but you hit nail on the head. I heard an analyst put it this was "The mainstream media has treated Clark like she is the CEO of the league, but the vets look at her like an untested colleague, certainly not above them." Clark has played only 19 professional games, that's not a baseline to judge anyone's career, people need to chill out on all of the superlatives used to described Clark, her career is in its infancy. Aja Wilson stated that it takes 2 to 3 seasons to decide if someone is going to be a success or wash in the league.

    It does not matter where you were drafted, it what you do after you are drafted. If the player don't buy into the HC scheme the team is a loser. The scheme has to work for everyone not 1 player. CC is not likeable and its now her, its her fans because they make her into something she's not. I didn't hear not 1 Sky fan cry about AR not starting at the beginning of the season. Because of the injury to Izzy she started. The problem is CC fans think she better than any player in the WNBA but is that was true then she would be leading in scoring not turnovers.

    • @SinisterAristotle
      @SinisterAristotle Před 2 dny

      Looking at it from the outside, one of the biggest differences between (most) Angel Reese fans and Caitlin Clark fans is that neither the coach, players, organization, or WNBA itself will be crucified like it was the end of the world if they lose or if they don’t get their numbers. Just think about if you’re a good coach, player, or executive. Which community would you rather join? The Sky, Aces, Liberty, Lynx or the Fever-the Fever probably have the most toxic community in sports partly because it’s built around one player vs the team as a whole.

      @@SinisterAristotle All of this is because of 1 game, and the fake build up from the NCAA, CC fans bought into it because they were misinformed that there were other players just as good. The hype will go away when Paige and the others get drafted, she seem to get long with her opponents after all its just a game. When you take the time out to teach other players, your rivals, you have to be a special player. When you agree with the opponent that the refs are tripping live in a game, I saw AR has done in college and Pros, makes her special. When the Fever player almost tackled AR out of bounds to make sure she didn't get the rebound, AR didn't complain, Yes AR was out of bounds where the fans were held there by a Fever player. CC is the biggest trash talker than all the rookies but her fans say she's classy, she flops, they scream foul.
      Teams are worried about winning ... they don't care about CC, they are trying to get the prize, Chicago isn't there yet but with some good guard play next season they will be.
