  • Ingredients:
    - 1 package (15 sheets) phyllo dough
    - 250g clarified butter
    - 200g pistachios, finely chopped
    - 1/5 cup water
    - 2 cups sugar
    - 2 whole cloves
    Instructions:
    1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
    2. Trim the phyllo dough sheets to fit the bottom of your baking dish.
    3. Brush the bottom of the baking dish with a little clarified butter.
    4. Layer half of the trimmed phyllo sheets into the baking dish, brushing each sheet with more clarified butter as you layer.
    5. Spread the finely chopped pistachios evenly over the layered phyllo sheets.
    6. Continue layering the remaining phyllo sheets over the pistachios, brushing each sheet with clarified butter.
    7. Use a sharp knife to cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes.
    8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
    9. While the baklava is baking, prepare the syrup: In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, and cloves. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and let it cool.
    10. Once the baklava is baked and while it's still warm, pour the cooled syrup evenly over the top.
    11. Allow the baklava to cool completely in the pan. Garnish with powdered pistachios.
    12. Enjoy your delicious homemade baklava!
