    This is something that Buck should do at the factory when 'building' the knife, it would give the knife a more 'refined' character and feel...

    I realize this video is 3 years old. You might want to try using a safe-sided disc the next time you make this modification. I used them all the time in my dental practice. The safe side has no grit on one side of the disc. Face the safe side next to the brass to do half the modification. Rotate the knife (or the disc) 180 degrees to do the other half. Or keep doing it however it works best for you. Just trying to help.

    You could soften those grind marks in the brass with a buffing wheel on your Dremel if you really wanted.

    “I think I’m gonna to be OK.” Famous last words. ;)
    Great idea with the half-stop!!!

    Very cool mod! Thanks for the demonstration, that must have been a pain trying to do that behind a camera. Cheers, buddy.

    That 110 has some for real 'walk and talk' now, JJ. Steady hand on display, too. Nice job. Enjoy.

    Good idea and an ingenious execution. I think I'll try this on my 110. But first, I'm going to get some shim stock to slip between the blade and the bolsters.

    Fascinating method, but knowing my skill level, I’d probably end up with a wobbly, wonky Buck.

    Did I miss the "Don't try this at home. I'm watcha call a musician" caution so even the dullest amongst us will know to be careful when wielding the 'whirling wand of unintended consequences' and to have all of our cuss words prepared for the aftermath?

    Yeah, cool mod, but I think I'd probably eff up my knife 😂

      Modifications are part of this channel. This one works for me, but only on this Buck 110. I have not modified any other 110’s I own.

    It's a cool mod but why?

  • @Exiledk
    @Exiledk Před rokem +4

    Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Say goodbye to your warranty.
    If this was critical in any way Buck would have already incorporated it into the knife. This is just unnecessary and pretty close to stupid.

      Nothing stupid about it,i love my 112 but it can be downright dangerous without a halfstop.

    • @MrF4tty
      @MrF4tty Před 10 měsíci

      It’s not like having a half stop is anything new. Many knives come with this feature. It’s not added only because it costs more in labor.
