- For the first time, hearing aids can pair directly with your Android phone. Jon Hurwitz, product manager on Android Bluetooth, shares how his team delivers a low energy audio solution with longer battery life, and product tester, Shaunin Baoerjiin, explains the significant impact it’s had on her life.

As a hard of hearing user this is nice to see them committing to this. Keep it going Google!
Ok

Agreed. I'm glad to hear I won't have to go the iPhone route - which used to be the only game in town.
So many devices are iphone only. It's frustrating
I agree but the have the same chipset and design that's why it's easier to make hearing aids for them
I have had the Resound Linx Quattro hearing aids for approximately 1 year now. A week ago replaced my Samsung S7 with the new Samsung A 51, and I would like to know if I can stream audio, make phone calls, etc. with the A51. If so, how do I do it? If not, when do you plan on enabling this feature? I was trying to get help from the hearing aid manufacturer concerning this matter, but they weren't able to help. They gave me a list of Android phones such as the S10, S20, Google pixel and so on, but nothing on the A51. Please help. It would be so nice if I can have this feature on my phone. Thanks!
I have a pair of Signia hearing aids, which say they connect to an Android phone with Bluetooth. I also have a phone which says it is an Android phone, and it also has Bluetooth. But it refuses to connect to my hearing aids.
Why? When is an Android not an Android? and when is Bluetooth not Bluetooth? What do I have to do to bridge the gap between them so that I can hear the voice in the phone calls directly in my hearing aids?
which andriod phone is compactible hearing devices
Sounds great, but my new hearing aids can't connect to Galaxy s21. They pair but won't connect. Help!
I'd love it if there was a public database of phones that have this feature enabled by default by OEMs, which gets updated each time a new phone comes out. The lists that cochlear implant companies like Cochlear have on their websites isn't updated frequently enough.
I just got a new set of hearing aids yesterday by Oticon. I have an android phone and even though it connects to the Oticon ON app when I try and connect through Bluetooth is keeps telling me "You need an app to connect". I have the app does this mean I won't be able to stream music or videos on my phone directly to my aids? Will buying the connectclip solve this issue?
I love android but I couldn't find one that would work best with hearing aids so I got an iPhone and I hate it but I only got it so I could hear and connect the hearing aids. Wish I could find an android phone that works and is loud enough and connects with it.
thank you
Very glad to see this as somebody with (strong) hearing aids. Been jealous about iOS devices being widely supported by hearing aid manufacturers where Android always requires some additional hardware. So this is going to be standard for all devices? Also those getting Android 10 as an upgrade? And when can we expect manufacturers to start and support this? Is it limited to specific devices and hearing aids?
Which hearing aid she is using
Mine work on CZcams, music but only works on speaker for phone
Why this grandma looking so young!
Not able to find ANY instructions on how to use my Oticon hearing aids with my A53 Android - I have them paired, but they will not send call audio to the hearing aids. How can I do that?
Apparently you can't, I ended asking Oticon how to do that and the reply was you can't, they are not compatible. The advice was to buy "a small clip" which cost more than my Nokia C32 phone.
does it support cochlear implant ? Please answer.
2021 year.
As before, only expensive flagships Pixel, Samsung and Oneplus support the ASHA.
Why cheap smartphones with Bluetooth 5 and Android 10 don't support ASHA?
I had to buy an iPhone 6s because it is 3 times cheaper. Luckily, I only use my smartphone as a dialer, so the tiny battery isn't critical. But I don't really like iOs.
BLE was also in the note 9s s pen

I have a pair of Phonak hearing aids, they already use BLE with Android 8 and 9. Don't know what is so new about this.
It's the direct streaming capability of calls and music straight into the hearing aids without the need of an intermediate device
@@markallonby6693 i have Redmi note 8 pro with android 10 but there are no capable to stream. how i can fix it. can it fix by flash pixel rom
@@RohitGTA I doubt it, its more a hardware and software issue, rather than a software issue. Flashing a ROM will only add software settings, not the hardware needed to allow ASHA.
how can I tell if my current pair of hearing aids is compatible with my Android 10 phone?
First, check if your hearing aids have Bluetooth functionality. Then see if the BLE protocol is supported. I don't think that this is very common however

My wife uses Resound hearing aids. impossible to use an android phone. The whole industry seems to be locked into the I-Phone system.
How do you turn this off? It's really annoying

I have had signia styletto 2x hearing aids. and I would like to know if I can stream audio, make phone calls, etc. with the Redmi note 8 pro. If so, how do I do it? I have a list of Android phones such as the S10, S20, Google pixel and so on which are support streaming, but nothing on the Redmi note 8 pro. can i enable this feature by flash custom rom (Pixel rom , One Ui etc). Please help. It would be so nice if I can have this feature on my phone. Thanks!
Pixel 3 and above will support ASHA. If you are adventurous, you can download and build AOSP and enable ASHA - making your own ROM.

I have Nokia 7plus with android 10. Can please help me how to connect my Oticon opn 3 minirite hearing aids?

And ANOTHER reason why I love Google so much. They really, really care about the world and the people in it and do everything they can to help make it a better place for all.
Don't fetishise companies.
Or to make money of users with hearing aids
@@reesericdotci Hearing aid manufacturers got that well covered already
No they care about money. And the way to get money is to get ppl like you to like them so you are more likely to buy their products.
@@iminni3459 Actually- have you ever considered that some companies actually want to help?? Not all are just money hungry monsters.
I am deaf and I've always put headsets on very louds for music. It would means a lots if all hearing aids can be connected by bluetooth and android got own apps of volume controls ect for it 👍
Name aap download ??
Android
wow nice
Pues yo wuiero android 11 en ni android 9
To bad that when Android 12 released, my Resound One aids no longer stream to both aids. Resound blames Android. Android blames Samsung. Samsung blames T-Mobil, and so on. In the mean time, it's been 4 months with no fix in sight. I filed an FDA medical device complaint due to my medical devices no longer working as advertised or as my audi promised. Not a peep from any audiologist either. Disgusting support for $5k aids...
Dr Cliff should be ashamed to "sell" features that really aren't available or work as claimed. I am only asking that the features I purchased actually work
The same thing with Xiaomi 10T Pro and Android 12. With Android 11 works perfectly 😔
Shame on you android! I was waiting for this feature for more than 5 years. This could have been life saver for millions of old age people who had hearing issues & have passed away. You guys no where innovating on time.

Hearing aids worked really well with iphone. It's sad to see android never care the hearing impaired users.
Apple had this nailed in 2013. My samsung tablet released in 2018 dosent support it and my samsung smartphone released in 2019 just about works with it. Disappointing.

Wow Google really care the world.
Apple smartphones have been working with hearing aids since 2013.
Google will be caring if cheap smartphones support ASHA.

Google should give stylus support for every android phone, so we can use it like Samsung note series...

At this moment, it only appears to be the Pixel 3 and 4 variant models, Samsung S20 and a OnePlus model I'm not sure of
