  • Get in the head of a former Royal Marines Commando overcoming challenges and obstacles: amzn.to/3jBUeoI
    I have been asked to make a video on why I left the Royal Marines. I left the Royal Marines in 2009 and I believe leaving was actually harder than joining. In this video I explain some of the main reasons why I left.
    I have been challenged to attempt some military PFTs from around the world, please comment below what ones you think I should try!
    Thanks for watching.

      Hey thanks for the uploads Iv been loving the RM videos. What is your opinion of joining RM in late 20s. I am approaching 27, I have passed PRMC and have been offered a place at CTCRM. I really enjoyed the experience. But I was older than most all other applicants there, 10 years older than some lads. I am university educated ( did an agricultural degree, my work background is in farming so used to bad weather and early starts) but applied for the ranks rather than officer as heard ranks is more fun. Most of me absolutely loved it and I’m keen to start but being honest, I am a little worried about my age being a disadvantage or coming to it “a bit late”, I was 2nd oldest there and sometimes felt out of place but not sure if that’s a legitimate worry but sometimes I have doubts in my head like by the time I would have done my general duties I’d already be 29/30, most people would have already been in 5-10 years by that age. Is this kind of life change advisable at my age with regards to career even if I wanted to do just a few years? Will I be at a physical disadvantage during training? Thank you for any advice.

      @@adamdexter368 I'm glad you've been enjoying them mate and thank you for watching them. If it's something you want to do then just go for it, it seems the only thing holding you back is you. Do what's best for you - if joining the Marines is what you want - then join the Marines!

      Thanks mate, they're all very similar, bit of running and some bodyweight exercises. I hate the running bits though 🤣 my training is going to go back to more bodybuilding from the "functional" I've been doing for the last few months, so those tests will be harder for me the longer I leave it. Fairly certain you can still do that Citizen to SEAL program. You'd need to become a US citizen but you can get that fast tracked if you're intending to join the US military

    When you said you jumped out of a helicopter do you have to do parachuting in the Royal Marines?

    • @MuscleWorld
      @MuscleWorld  Před 5 lety +9

      Hi mate - no we would fast rope out of helicopter or they would lower and we would run out the back if it was a merlin with say a ramp, you kinda jump off say a lynx as it doesn't have a ramp. So yeah I meant fast roping though... so maybe I should have said "swung our if helicopter"? Haha thanks for watching mate. Some RMs do para jumps though if you want. But you could just join para reg if wanna do that or look into special force support group.
