Cable you linked for the vx works perfectly plugged all the way in. However, I had to put the red cable in the yellow video input for it to work, not sure why. the other two can go in either way doesnt seem to matter since it down mixes to mono. Hopefully this comment helps someone else as I was pulling my hair out before trying to swap cables around just for the F of it!
Same here! VX2100. Exact same configuration
@@jonallen125 so weird! Took me forever and like the 5th page of google to find a random post somewhere, I was so heartbroken at first lmao. Check out the videos I’ve filmed so far. I’m stoked to see some footy!
100% worked for me
you're a legend. thank you
Those cables that are sold on Amazon have a * in the description stating that the video/audio might be switched. So I assume they are advertising cables with both configurations but just sending out these ones.
reversing the yellow and red worked for me, without messing with any adapters
Holy shit! I must have gotten incredibly lucky. I use an old cable I found lying around my house and it allows me to plug it in all the way.
would definitely order one if you decide to manufacture some!
You are a god for this!!!
This inspired me to play around with my cables and have found that what works best for me since I have multiple cameras is:
-2.5/3.5mm a/v from camera out to RCA
-RCA to 3.5mm into PowerPlay
and from there just swap the RCA plugs in between until you get video and audio in the Powerplay. So far, it's worked with a few Sharp, Panasonic, and Sony cameras. It's much bulkier than your solution but I do not have your patience to make my own cables for each camera.
Just modded out cable with the TRRS Terminal and it works like a dream! One thing that he touched on is that it feels not so secure even though connectors are screwed as far as they go. Once i got them tied down i glued the fuck out on them to stay in place and wrapped it in heat shrink.
Nice videos, very well delivered content on somewhat confusing topics.
would greatly appreciate it if you did a video on explaining the TRV900 settings/the best settings for the TRV
I think I'm gonna do a series on camcorder basics, will include some settings stuff but the TRV is no different to the way I'd set up a VX or anything else
Brilliant, well done you. Very clever adaption.
I just tried the DIY jack 3.5mm and works perfectly!
The British dialogue is hilarious.😂 thanks for the help
Хорошая идея создавать такие кастомные кабели и продавать их,я бы купил!
yo @NEON AIRSHIP we need you to make another tapeless solutions because i need one for my vx but the one you reviewed is sold out everywhere.
OMTP cable in the description works perfectly all the way in my powerplay with my VX1000. Would be rad to find a shorter cable
I bought a PowerPlay a while ago as a monitor and recorder for my thermal cameras. I made a cable myself with a TRRS breakout in between - but also bought five of these screw terminal TRRS cables and now I am using this instead. But I am not happy with the encoding quality of the PowerPlay, I get 1-2mbps at most as the signal is monochrome. the old cam corders might actually have better quality if you get one with firewire out.
Site going back up soon for mounting kits? Picked up a power play from the quick restock. Thanks!
I also picked one up! :)
I’m really hoping he does find some time to make some more kits… there’s nothing that compares!
What mount do you have your powerplay on?
Do you have a solution for 3rca to 3.5mm? My camera doesn't have AV but the 3rca to 3.5mm works but only plugged in 2/3 of the way. I thought just swapping the rca cables around would do the trick but it doesn't.
what fisheeye are you using for your trv 900?
Hi, i didnt buy the power play but i bought another similar digital recorder with the same issue and it didnt come with the aux cable the power play came with. So i bought my own trrs 3 5mm cable and despIte having the 3 rings and being labeled trrs, it only had 3 wires inside. Can you send me a link to a trrs cable i can do this with? Thank you!
I know this is late. But is it too late to just buy a cable from your shop
Same
hi neon i see you are using a 37mm fish eye on the trv900. I was wondering how you did that cause the filter size is 52 i am looking forward to hearing back from you, thanks jimi
step down ring
Vx chord from the link did not work on my vx1000.
Information gold mine!
my 3.5mm to rca cable just works with crystal clear audio and video when plugged in normally. I have a vx2000
Probably got lucky and found an OMTP cable then!
Link to cable please?
@@Starizm check the description
Me aswell. Same setup.
what cable u got ?
could you explain the soldering order/process for the custom 3.5 jack? Idk which terminals I should be soldering each wire to, i’m pretty unknowledgeable about wiring
I wonder if I can connect FireWire and the 3.5 adapter? It would be interesting to look at all the existing ways to connect the recorder to the video camera
I doubt that would work, lmk if you tried it though
Will there be good video and audio quality if I connect to the 3.5 trrs 4 pin gl 2 cable and the 3.5 trrs 3 pin cable to the recorder? For gl 2 writes stereo sound, and the recorder can accept mono, do you think?
Interesting idea, I don't think the pin layout will match up though
I bought one of your powerplay 3d printed mount for my canon GL1. And the clip that snaps into the power play snapped off after taking it in and out a few times.. have you or anyone else who bought one had this issue? Have you came up with a v2?
Do you have a sound? on gl1
yeah that happened to me to. i just zip tied it down onto the 3d printed mount. i am currently designing my own, more durable version.
worked perfectly tyyy
Hi dude, love your videos and appreciate all the help, I’ve currently got a Sony HDR-FX7 and the av out is dissimilar to the vx, is there any way of using a 1394 cable with the power play ? Need to find a solution 😅 thanks
Does it have HDMI?
I was gonna get the power play but its sold out everywhere
They restock pretty regularly keep an eye out!
I found mine on aliexpress. From some random RC store in the uk. Had to go to page 10 on Google to find one.
Your the best thank you
hey there! just got a quick question. I recently got a new microphone for my TRV900, as the one I bought off ebay had a broken internal mic and the XM-8 Shotgun mic it came with was being weird and not always picking up audio. With the new microphone, the only way I can get it to pickup audio is by unplugging and plugging the powerplay back in after pressing record. any idea on why this is happening or what I could do to fix it?
Has anyone noticed the power play deinterlaces footage top field first instead of bottom field first causing jittery footage?
Hi, I noticed this too when I tried to record on my Panasonic DVX100B with a PowerPlay. Have you found any fixes for this?
@@aidan1080 I did actually I use virtualdub (could probably use something else) interpolate the fps to half then double them back up
@@dethclik2002 holy shit dude it worked. FWIW I went into premiere and just set the frame rate in the sequence to 30fps, or half the frame rate that the immersionrc records at. thank you man
can you do an export/import settings video pls
why not just by a ctia to omtp adapter off amazon for less than 10 dollars??
@@ThePinkBeachTowelExile :((((
Tried it, doesn't work :( It needs to be camcorder layout to OMTP and they don't seem to exist
Alternatively, could you use a CTIA 3.5mm to RCA Female cord plugged into a Male RCA to OMTP 3.5mm you linked for the vx? That way it’s still Left, Right, Ground, Video (CTIA) on one side and Left, Right, Video, Ground (OMTP) on the other? Sorry if that’s too confusing
i order the vx cable to try this out, i’ll let you if this works (10 months late i know)
@@mysickmemepagebro3271 mine didn’t end up working :/
with my vx1000 i still have to have it plugged in 75% in and when i film lines i keep getting audio glitches. i was about to buy ur spacer but if this other way works and ur selling one that will work perfect for the vx1000 and 2000 im fosho coppin
you are a legend
what should we do now that this is unavailable? :(
Does this omtp cable exist with an 1,5mm side rather than the 3,5mm (for a eachine fpvdvr) thanks everybody :)
Weird.. just started using my powerplay with my vx2000, and it let's me plug it all the way in. Maybe the newer powerplays fixed this issue??
It's not an issue for immersionrc as its designed for FPV so it won't be changed. Must have got lucky and ordered a cable with the correct layout
soooo.. will you be selling the cable?
Eyo wich mount do U use in the thumbnail and does it work for the vx1000?
And ur Ship Ur mounting Kit Worldwide?
It's my mounting kit + an andoer monitor mount off amazon, really good combo! Yep ship worldwide
@@NEONAIRSHIP thank u for the quick reply
Hi, my camera doesn’t have an AV port(Sony FX-7). It has an HDMi port and I used a HDMi to RCA cables , I paired this with an RCA to AV adapter and plugged it in to the PowerPlay. All I could get was flashes of white but nothing else, could anyone help me?
The vx cable linked in the description did not work for me I tried the adapter on some other cables too and still didn’t work
without the adapter it should work.... in theory at least
Ordered the OMTP cable you recommended for my vx1000 but sadly still needs to be inserted half way in to get video.
Damn that exact one?
Ya, I got the US one from the link in the description. I’ll let you know if I find a work around.
No idea why but that OTMP cable works for me.
@@keithfejeran2934 I'm glad, it should work in theory!
We need it
To anyone that got the cable in the link( i ordered the us version) it doesn’t work unless you still swap the red and yellow
Did u ever produce these to sell 😹 I’d like to buy
Im using the powerplay on my vx2100 works perfectly fine with the 3.5mm to rcd av cable I bought from Amazon. full crispy clips and perfect audio. But after purchasing 2 more camcorders the vx2000 model this set up only records video with no audio. Same situation with both vx2000. are they different outputs? don't even know where to start as iv bought 3 different rcd av to 3.5mm jack and none work at all!. just purchased this cable you have linked for the vx so hoping this solves my issues, anyone else know a fix to this issue would highly appreciate a point in the right direction, cheers!!
geeenius
Me watching this after suggesting a solution on the old video: 🤦
hey man pls reopen store ty :) also interested if you would have the cables to sell
been having some issues with the printer but think I've nearly sorted it. Hopefully back up this week, maybe even tomorrow 🤞
yeeeaaaaahhh
New video :)
