Teddy didn't think Fury had Wilder in the second fight ...
I think too many Americans just want the belt held by an American but I do think Fury has an awesome combo w His size and skill ... not as fast or vicious as Mike but He has 7 inches of reach on Him and almost 10 inches in Height , how does Mike even hit Furys Chin ?
... I don't see it and I love Mike Man , He's the most vicious that I've seen in His prime but that's boxing btw ... People have been debating about Champions for ever ... Mike's podcasts are the best out there imo .
Just Happy to see Him Healthy and positive , Great Man .

@@raylars752 Well when Mike was at his best from 86-88 and not head hunting he would deliver that combination of a right hand to the body followed by a right uppercut or left hook. Watch his fights from 86-88 and you will see it and it was quite effective against taller fighters. After Rooney we really didn't see it again except the first fight against Holyfield in the 5th round when he hurt Holyfield with it then never saw it again or any fight after. But yes he would be able to hit Fury and like most fighters that fought Mike from 86-8 when you are getting drilled by a good body attack and combinations to body and head they either held on for dear life or got KOed. So the only thing I see Fury's size helping him is tying Mike up to stop the damage.

@@briancamilli8873 ... I know , I know He's a badass and He was insanely brutal ... How could He Possibly Punch So Hard with Both Feet off the Ground ? ...but he was strong enough thru his core and his timing was that good ... But again , factor in Tyson's height and reach and I think Fury would have to be leaning in with an exposed chin for Tyson to touch it ... but just reach and height puts Iron Mike at a huge disadvantage... But Tyson has the best gigs going for Him now , growing weed and his Podcasts are awesome ... He's as good as Rogan with his Podcasts but on different spiritual areas imo

I have watched many documentaries on Mike Tyson and became a huge fan when he first started out. The sheer power and strength he generated with either punch was incredible! The great Cus D'Amato trained many fighters to become champion, unfortunately Tyson was his last. For him to see this type of skill in a little criminal kid from Brooklyn was amazing! The was he was trained by Teddy and then by Kevin Rooney was simply something that doesn't happen everyday. I feel that he had the potential to become the greatest heavyweight ever, by breaking Rocky Marciano's record and retiring undefeated. If he would have stayed with his original team and not gone over to the dark side with Don King I feel it would have happened. Overall, he had a great career but I think that all Tyson fans such as myself feel that he could have accomplished even more than what he did.

Much of Teddy's animosity for Tyson, in my mind other than the personal issues they had, is the wasted talent and missed opportunities that Tyson chose to allow. Sure, he was a champion, but he squandered much of his talent (and the rewards that came from them) as well.

He should’ve kept his extended guard so that Mike’s body couldn’t get close, he had less success when he was dancing on his toes (on account of the fact that he kept his hands down). When he was stiff arming Mike, Mike couldn’t get any meaningful punches in, and his hooks were not hitting Larry’s head at all.

The Punch: Larry Holmes parried Mike Tyson’s jab with his right, but Mike’s jab was only the diversion. As Holme’s right hand pushed Tyson’s jab downward, Tyson dipped his left shoulder to allow his right hand to come in over the top of Larry’s left hand guard. Heavyweights typically throw an overhand right, but ANY other right hand would have been caught by the Larry’s left glove or his shoulder...but Mike’s punch came in from on high and caught Holmes flush on the temple. The force of Tyson’s punch continued all the way down Holmes’ face and into his chest, meaning none of the power was wasted - Larry Holmes absorbed every bit of that punch. This is a tricky right hand punch you seldom see outside of Mexican fighters. Cus was a master of the game, and adopted that punch for his fighters.

This why Tyson would of always beat Holmes as well as Tyson with Cus and Rooney or just Rooney would of been tough to beat. Cus actually had Holmes on the radar for Tyson to win the championship but then Larry lost so focus then was on the other titlist. Cus and Rooney made sure that every opponent was taken seriously as a threat and had a gameplan knowing the opponents weaknesses. Tyson after the Spinks fight abandoned the style that he was taught and made him successful and just relied on pressure and throwing bombs with no game plan for a particular opponent. .
