I bought the Tangram vinyl in 1985, when I had 18yo and I was discovering a lot of new Electronic Music. Now I'm a 54yo electronic musician, and hearing this version I'm really moved, man... really ! A lot of memories coming in to my mind... those moments when to buy a vinyl and to listen it from start to end was a ritual ! Thanks for upload this version !!
My absolute favorite Album, together with "Staatsgrenze West". I "discovered" TD in the early eighties by a radio transmission with "Staatsgrenze West". My Love to TD was born.... This version of Tangram i heard the first time! Thanks!!!
Always one of my favourite TD albums. After a poor few years it showed them back to their absolute best seemingly utilising the latest tech of the day....to my ears anyway. Thanks Richard 👍
the 1982 album of the same name is the purest distillation of the Franke, Froese, and Schmoelling sound. Surely no mistake the boys named it Tangram. Gram as in signature, from the Greek gramma meaning a ‘thing written’, from graphein ‘write’. Tangram is that 'thing written' in sound.
Thanks for another hidden gem, Richard. Too bad they didn't play the whole Part 1, or at least I can't recognize the parts after 10:40 Compared to TD's 2008 version, this one has more personality and feels like a true modern interpretation and not just Tangram with a 4/4 beat, although the hand claps sound like they come from the same cheesy place...
In this album, Tangram is only 3'19, here, that seems to be another version? Have to say I enjoyed this - some lovely bridging techniques used here. Wished this was more prevalent with modern day players. Yeah - a worthwhile effort.
Tangram was a top notch TD release. This revisit sounds fresh and clean and flows much better than the disappointing 2008 "rerecorded" (overdubbed) version where there are timing issues between old sequences and new drums (Sorry Edgar).
Pas vraiment mieux que l'original, les parties "pompières" n'en sont pas rehaussées ou affinées, ni les zones plus "romantiques" sensiblement améliorées... Une bonne reprise quand même, on confondrait pas avec le Stabat Mater de Rossini...
Tellement bon, tellement musical...
I love Johannes, his classical training and brilliance shines like a diamond!!

Your channel is pure joy for an »exill»-german. Greetings from Kuala Lumpur.
Sooo beautiful!!! ♥♥♥
I was fan of the original Tangram record, even though it was simple, but I Love this one very much too. I know TD from the very 1st album ^^.
I like The Seven (last) Minutes.;)
Mostly the audience clapping I suspect ;-)
@@RichardW001 Exactly! Nothing like a cheering audience.;)
And now back to my book.
Soooo Nice this Revisited Version. With Respect to the Original.

From 10:40 it is Quichotte Part One (Johannes version is called Palace Of Dreams).

wtf. i have no audio on my computer. is this to be a tangerine dream homage?

Well that's just cost me £50 in CDs DVDs and postage :D - Thanks :)
The solo in Time And Tide is worth the money alone :-)

Berlin-School, or something to that effect. Replace the style name with something more imaginative. Thanks, Richard W.
The first Tangerine Dream album I ever owned.
