I appreciate that. Wish I hadn't sold my 2100. Limping along with a DBX BX-3mkII at 300 or so per channel. Still doesn't have the MAC autoformer sound though.
Hey Mark great video. Im having issues with my Yamaha HTR-5750 pulled out of storage, it turns on and shuts down right away like your repair video on HTR-5460. Any help would be appreciated
good morning could you help me with a Pioneer receiver that is not turning off the device working only in fm when you press the button to turn off it appears on the panel like this 1.00 /17721a thanks
I blew up my old AVR-4800, and I can't find anyone to work on it. I'm pretty sure the problem is that I installed a 3 Ohm speaker on the center channel, and it killed the amp. Now when it turns on it triggers the protection right away. It's rather dear to me, and I'd like to get it fixed. Would you be able to help me out?
Hi Mark, I am trying to track down a volume pot for a Mcintosh MC2200 amp. The question has come up from a potential supplier on whether it is a single or double deck pot. I would would like to have the part when I bring the unit in for service. Thanks in advance.
Each of the front panel level controls are singles, 100K, linear taper. Pretty sure they use a half moon end for the knob to fit onto. Couldn't tell you the correct shaft length, but it would be fairly short.
I'm the kr9940 guy from eevblog, found your youtube by chance (thought I remembered the avatar) and have been watching through all your vids here. Quite a few gems of info for a newbie like myself, thanks for the uploads!
Hi Mark,What are main caps value on the 4800?Mine is the Avc A1 240v model. The main caps on my set is 2x 15000 ohms. A friend of mine has the same model but the caps on his set is 2x 33000 ohms. Do u know why 2 same models have different cap values?
18,000uF at 71v in my AVR4800 service manual. The operating voltages in the different versions might be somewhat different. For example the 5700 looks the same but might have higher power rated amps. Otherwise - who knows?
@@mdzacharias It's understandable if different models have different component values and specs. But 2 exactly same Avc A1 240v models in the same country with widely different component values? That's very intriguing!
I suppose. Quite a difference between 33,000 and 15,000, but I don't think you'd hear it. I was looking at a Phase Linear 700B schematic just a little while ago. 350 watts/channel and the caps are 5600uF.
@@mdzacharias It's rather strange though!Btw,I'm abt done resoldering just abt all the suspect dry joints now and if I should decide to replace the main caps, will it be ok to replace them with higher capacitance caps if I can fit them in?
Hi Mark,I've got a denon avr 716 with no sound. None of the output transistors are shorted.I'm getting 51v on the output collecters but no voltage on the emitters. What could be causing it? The 15v and 5v regulators are fine. Can you help?
@@stallion63m35 If there's no sound but it doesn't shut off in Protection mode I'd be looking at IC701, the input select/electronic volume control IC. After making sure it has power first, of course, the + and - 15 volt supplies, and resistors from there to the IC itself. I've replaced a couple of those. Not for the faint of heart.
@@mdzacharias Hi Mark. Thanks for the great help.Looks a bit tedious. Will check that out. Btw,There's no shutdown and all functions and display are normal. No shorts or blown resistors etc.The +15 -15 and 5v regulators are all fine.Just no sound. But the bias seems high at ard 20-22mV. But I did desolder the output transistors pins cause they looked crusty and resoldered them.Do high bias cause the no sound problem?
i would just like to say it isn't easy trying to find someone who can still work on an dennon reciever. I wonder if i would be out of line to ask if you could work on mine. its a denon 2370ci? I would send it to you if that would be alrite? I do have a repair guy here but hes so busy and i am without a reciever. so would you be that guy?
what if i wasto send it to you ina great box that is also the pick up andreturn from my door to your door then from your door to my door? would that be alright with you mark?
Love your repair videos Mark. Your skills are both informative and entertaining.
Nice to see you again. I want to thank you again for the really good work you did on the

happy to see a repair vid from you!
This was several years ago. The video was blocked for copyright reasons and I didn't even know til yesterday.

I've Denon 4311ci it shows DSP 01 error no audio out (analog and HDMI I/P), rest of the things working fine how to fix this?

Can you show how to repair the red blinking standby light for this same Denon model? Thanks.
Could be a blown channel or solder connections like in the video. The power supplies in these are pretty reliable but anything's possible.

It would work fine, but might mean more stress on the main power turn-on relay right at power-up, due to larger inrush current.
