    Make sure to use a very small amount of baking soda! A lot less than what you see in the video.

      It is a smart question. Most fruits should be ok. However, citrus fruits are usually better. Like lemon, orange, lime etc.

      If you want to do this with a less acidic fruit, you'd need to add something else that is acidic such as vinegar, for example. So not the best considering any acidic ingredient will change flavor. But it's possible

    The solution will have a salty taste because of the sodium citrate formed from the reaction resulting in an unpleasant drink. It's best to react the lemon juice/vinegar (acid) and the sodium bicarbonate (base) in a separate container with a connecting tube that bubbles the carbon dioxide into the water in a separate container.

      @@prorandocopier7945 see, when you add acid + base it gives salt and water so Acid + base ----> salt + water. So, when we react baking soda (base) with lime/lemon juice or vinegar (Acid) it makes carbon dioxide and salt resulting in a salty floury over all unpleasant taste of the drink. He’s/She’s saying that we should react it in a separate container with a tube connected and sealed on to that container & the 2nd hole of the tube put in a glass of water to carbonate it. Hope you understand….

      let me explain.
      It isnt safe since You might have some base or acid leftover.
      so Citric acid (in lemons) [HOC(CO2H)] reacts with baking soda (which is a base) [ NaHCO3 ] to pruduce random salt that dissolve in ur drink and CO2 gas which also dissolves and water) so why it isnt safe? here ima explain, baking soda is base which if u drink can react with acid in ur stomach. citric acid isnt that dangerous but still it could hurt ur neck or smth. Also as i said it produces random salt, which could be dangerous, i dont know much about it but yeah. i have my own methode to do that, ill probably post it into my yt channel soon! u can watch and its surely safer then this. gl! And no it wont probably taste bad but still i dont recommand this way

    How did it taste for you? All of my previous attempts tasted so badly.

      It is because of too much of sodium in the baking soda. Make sure to use a smaller amount of baking soda (a lot less than what you see in the video) and you may also want to add some sugar or some flavor

    I want my fizzy water on daily basis. Drinking this on daily basis doesn't sound very health. Any known risks to this?

    Hello
    Isn't the taste affected?

    • @teekotrain6845
      @teekotrain6845 Před 3 lety +2

      YES. Instead, i put two bottoles side by side. One with liquid to be carbonated filled with 1 inch head space, and the other filled about 1/2 way with water. In the screw tops i have a tube connecting through holes i drilled in caps and hot glued around to make airtight. Use whatever you have such as silicone, plumbers tape, gorilla glue, whatever semi flexible sealant or glue. make sure when you glue the tubes that one tube will fully submerged to almost the bottom of the liquid and the other tube will remain towards the top where the airspace is of the water so it does not submerge. take a tiny piece of tissue paper and make it into a little pouch just to fit the baking soda into. Make sure it will drop in the hole easily and quickly so make it long and skinny. Drop it in liquid FAST and close lid FAST. Still working quickly attach or screw on the juice or liquid to be carbonated. Now it's air tight and the reaction from the baking soda will release gas through the tube into your liquid, force carbonating. It will not affect flavor, you can do it over again to get more carbonation, and you can carbonate ANYTHING. Have fun kids!!!

    I actually made carbonated water by shaking it in a bottle. it took a lot of effort and didn’t work that well, but it works
