A fun song and album I heard every weekend growing up when my folks listened and danced to it. John is a good man and entertainer. His Book "Apple, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie" is a nice read about his life and travels as a Polka Star and musician. More Stanky and The Coal Miners...now "THATS FANTASTIC"

Back in the day, the lead vocalist on this album, "Happy Tony," was the real showman who carried the band. I remember seeing them preform in the bandstand at Angela Park north of Hazleton.

I love it.. John Stanky is the best. Always true to what means the most to him. Making people happy with what he does best. Playing and feeling every note... he NEEDS to write another book ....

I used to have relatives in Carbondale, PA, and these guys were really popular in that area when I was a kid. It's fun music.

I don't know anything about polka, but this has the combination of tight musicianship and dirtiness/sweatiness that I just love.

I still have this album and a couple of others. Used to see them at the 752 Club in Kingston(?). My Dad and I played their music at a bar called Krajewski's back in the 70s.

If I'm not mistaken, the lead singer at this time was the gentleman wearing the dark glasses...."Happy Tony Karvatski"....a childhood friend of my mother.

Espy Street isn't far from where my grandfather lived at 4 Charles in Sheatown. This is the real thing.
