Best polka orchestra of it's era, enjoyed dancing to their music live many times. Bernie was a very accomplished musician.

I still have this album and a couple of others. Used to see them at the 752 Club in Kingston(?). My Dad and I played their music at a bar called Krajewski's back in the 70s.

Back in the day, the lead vocalist on this album, "Happy Tony," was the real showman who carried the band. I remember seeing them preform in the bandstand at Angela Park north of Hazleton.

@KptNNate Johnny Prytko is from Manchester, CT. They used to play a lot on Long Island, hence the album title. They played all over the northeast US back in the day and had quite a following. John patterned the band after another famous CT band, the Connecticut Twins, but he had his own vibe. His stuff is frequently on eBay. This early stuff is excellent.

This song is awesome! It's amazing how much energy can come out of polka music! I'm wondering where the band originated and played around. Would it be correct to say New York, because of Long Island Sound?

I love it.. John Stanky is the best. Always true to what means the most to him. Making people happy with what he does best. Playing and feeling every note... he NEEDS to write another book ....
