grew up with Stanky and loved dancing to his music. Home station was WVIA.
John regularly visited a friend of his in the nursing home, and he was so kind and pleasant all the time. It was an honor to know that this wonderful man was the "Stanky" I had heard about on commercials for so many years.
This nurse loves the guy.
Stanky and The Coal Miners have been around forever. I remember seeing them preform at Angela Park near Hazleton in the mid sixties. A NEPA treasure and legend in the polka world.

Grew up with Stanky as my Grandfather ( Jake Bush ) would hire John to play in Amsterdam New York for the Policeman ball each year. John Played for My brothers wedding (Ken & Karen Trzaskos) and also played for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary (Jake and Gert Bush). After playing many nights at Bishop Scully High School in Amsterdam they would stop by for snack and would play in our garage weather permitting at my Mom's house (Rita Trzaskos).
