  • Will Smith had Denzel Washington to thank for giving him words of wisdom following his win for Best Actor at the 2022 Oscars and his jaw-dropping moment onstage where he slapped comedian Chris Rock across the face after he made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith. Will shared what Denzel said to him in his acceptance speech, saying: "He said, 'At your highest moment, be careful. That's when the devil comes for you.'" Tyler Perry and Bradley Cooper also consoled Will in the slap aftermath.

Not defending what he did but did you ever had a friend pull you back? Like making sure you didn't do something stupid like to get in a fight or stop you from saying something horrible when you were in a state that you couldn't control yourself? They were there for Will because they are friends. I am sure Chris has friends in the audience who are his close friends or in the back consoling him as well. I have a friend I consoled with even after he did something not right. Just saying its good to have friends, but I hope they let will know that it wasn't okay.

Maybe they should have comforted Chris Rock, who acted more like a man than anyone in that room. Diplomatic, graceful, head held high and proud and one of the strongest displays of strength and patience on tv I've ever seen. Notice how Will walked up to him head down leaning in to hide his intentions. Chris never imagined he'd do something so childish and didn't brace for it because it was a sucker punch. Your family should be ashamed Will, you should be ashamed and your children should be embarrassed along with Jada. Its one thing defending a woman of class, another thing to destroy your career for a woman who laughed while you cried and embarrassed you globally with her infidelity. She turned you into a meme and now you destroyed your reputation and career for her. I will always say Jada is the real mastermind here. Go Chris.

Not condoning because Chris is a good dude and got humiliated in a public setting but everyone has a breaking point. I'm sick of the "thick skin" argument that allows disrespect, enables hypocrisy and gives people a right to walk over you and be damned if you react. Honestly, I'm very sensitive and easily emotional. It can take one thing for me to be set off. People around me must understand and understood that whatever will come from me in the heat of a moment will be their own responsibility. There's things you don't say or do. There's people you don't try, provoke, talk shit about or even look down upon. You just leave them TF alone, you tread lightly, you're respectful and be kind. What Will did wasn't cool but I've been there when I was younger. Action led to greater reactions and it is what it is. Anger is human. The sense of entitlement and the delusion that he didn’t do anything wrong or more important illegal is disgusting. And shame on The Academy and ABC for not having the Police move him was spineless.
Our family felt terrible for Chris Rock and his family the way he was allowed to be treated and then to not hold Will Smith accountable.
Will Smith and his wife are absolutely not sorry for what he did to Chris Rock. Will Smith refusing to leave the Oscars when reportedly asked too and then to party it up at the Vanity Fair party is proof of this. Shame on Vanity Fair also for allowing him to attend their party.

I wouldn't have slapped, and neither would I have make mockery of anyone, not to talk of making mockery of someone's love ones. Sometimes that hurts more than a slap. Someone can go into serious emotional trauma after being mocked publicly. Believe me, if you haven't been in that situation, then you would likely not understand. I condemn both actions. But like I said before, no one is perfect. They have to let go and consider the beautiful moments they both have shared in the past, and pave the way for reconciliation and peace. My advice is that they forgive, love, and move on even if they decide not to trust each other as before. It is true they've made some terrible mistakes, but that doesn't make us judges over them. God has the final say. We should preach peace, love and unity. Not hateful rhetoric that could lead both men astray into making wrong decisions as to the way forward. Thank you all. I think that's a bad comparision. Not all middle schooler can stand on themselves when confronting bullying, that's why necessary actiond should be taken by the school to prevent further incidents, while both Will and Chris are adults. They'll settle it themselves, hopefully.
Also, Will is not rewarded for slapping Chris. As for why Will was the one who got comforted, maybe because they're closer to Will than Chris. Even if my friend did something like that, I'm not gonna hug the other guy and comfort him. That will hurt him more and could trigger another incident. I'd prefer to comfort my friend and tell him that I understand his anger, but what he did is wrong. It's not like all people in the room suddenly comfort Will. Now that's I can say weird.

@@shavettejohnson4791 Exactly! I honestly don’t see why people are not considering her feelings about this. Alopecia is a hard pill to swallow for some women. Now I know Jada can be a mess at times when it comes to her husband but had he not did or said something after Chris humiliated her on National T.V. He would have caught pure hell at home.🤷🏽‍♀️
