So much more to see in Ithaca, the gorgeous campus of Cornell University, Buttermilk Falls, the gorgeous homes there, the children's community park...

Ithaca for tourists..there is so much more important places to see, i went there once and would love to go back, it's a great place but not going to street parties, there are amazing different stores full of art and the view from Cornell to the lake is amazing...you must go back and see all the real places.

Dude... you seem impressed by a festival - the same kind you see in any same-size city or in any state, instead of looking at the city. You walked right past The Clinton House - hugely historical. Also you missed the DeWitt building - used to be one of the two Jr Highs in the city... now a mall housing artsy shops. Is famous Moosewood restaurant still there in DeWitt mall? Totally missed Stewart Park. How about the historical Purity Ice Cream that probably employed Ithaca's high school students since it was founded. There's The Station Restaurant, also historical where train cars were converted to dining rooms. How about that Ithaca was originally the "Hollywood" film capital during the silent film era (see its museum). The waterfalls.... original Tarzan movies were filmed there!! Sailboat races up Cayuga Lake in summer. The Cornell crew races up the canal. Soooo much missed.

I have lived in Ithaca, NY for 73 years.
Very expensive to live in Tompkins County in 2024....especially housing!
Many buy homes in surrounding counties where homes and taxes are cheaper....then drive into Tompkins County for employment.

@@ithacacomments4811This is good to know, and I appreciate you sharing. My family and I are considering moving to the area, but have been looking in the surrounding area because housing seems a bit pricey in Ithaca limits.
