My goodness, y'all deserve every penny you make off of these jobs. Y'all work so hard.
No doubt your dad was proud as a peacock with the quality of this huge job, Tim! A couple minor hiccups - learning experiences - but a totally professional job. Congratulations!
🦚🦚🦚
This project came out just beautiful!…The stairs, with the railings set the stage!…Wow!…You guys are incredible!…Like father..like son!…
yes sir! TY
Looking great! When tightening the cables: turning a ratcheting combination/box wrench while holding the allen key still, would tighten it while preventing the cable from spinning. And now I'm done with my armchair quarterbacking for today.
haha well I appreciate the helpful tip!
Pro Tip on tightening those steel cables: Use an audio analyzer app on your iPhone to listen the 'frequency' as you tighten the cables and play them like a guitar! You'll be able to get each individual cable very close to the same tension!
dang idk why i didnt think of that
Haha, I was thinking it would be funny to tune them like a guitar. Like an easter egg in construction.
Good things happen when to listen and learn from the master.

Big project for the Odell crew.Looks great.
thank you!
Those stairs ain't going anywhere! Nicely done!
When you put the Trex plugs in, it helps to alight the grain with the board it goes into. It will help blend and disappear better. Love the railing! Great job guys.
Before painting
Great work on this series editing must have taken tons of work, you and your crew did an amazing job on all the work.
Ty
This backyard is going to look awesome!
Great job everyone
Fence and Stairs came out Amazing. Love the look. Perfect 10 !
Ty
Tim, the backyard looks great! However, I have a comment or two. I noticed that you had to cut off one of the anchor bolts for the stair corner post, (most likely hole not deep enough/maybe rebar in the way). But you didn't mention cutting it off as a solution. Second and a big one - the method that was used to tighten the wire ropes was incorrect. The Allen wrench is used to keep the wire rope from rotating while you tighten the retaining nut. Not used to tighten the wire rope while hold the retaining nut from rotating. By turning the wire rope you are messing with the tension of the wire rope assembly which is a characteristic of its multilayer construction and strength. From the wire rope railing manufacturers instructions - "Tighten the locknut with a 7/16” wrench while holding the hex wrench to prevent the stud from turning". I have worked in the safety field with wire rope and when I saw the guy turning it, I cringed! Sorry, but I thought you should know this...
appreciate the comment and helpful advise! for the achor bolt I think I was sticking on rebar
2:10, put the nut on first. Cut above the nut. When you remove the nut, it will follow the undamaged threads, and help make starting the nut on the threads easier, for when you put the nut back on for the final time.
Makes sense
Fantastic Series. Super skills on display.
Ty
Deplorable and beautiful work
my tip for expansion anchors: insert anchor as far as you can by hand, set your hammerdrill in hammer only mode, place tip of the drill on the bolt and slowly drive it to the bottom. it requires some practice to stay on top of the bolt with the drill but if you can do it that saves soo much time. Also don't worry about the drill, it has carbide insert on the end and won't get damaged. you can also buy or make special special tool just for that that goes in sds+ adapter but with the drill you can stay straight and you don't need to change drills everytime
good idea
TY
Great work Timmy! 🔥🔥🔥
You do great work brother. 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Ty
Great work looks awesome
TY
Sweet 👍
Great job team, railing looks real slick and by God that landing and staircase could support a tank! 💕👏👍
I concur
TY
luv it

I loved that you added all the little details of the stairs construction. Y’all really do great, meticulous work! The project looks great! I bet the client is very happy with the changes!❤❤❤
Thanks so much!
Great series. Beautiful work!
TY
You guys went Above and beyond to get this one done! Nice work!
Yes! Thank you!
Beautiful guys
TY
That was a great build series! Enjoyed each one - great job! 💯
So used to watching your dad work but honestly I’m getting used to the transition with you and enjoy your detail comments. Looks like Odell concrete is in good hands for the future!

why everyone needs to learn math
great work, turned out really nice!
You guys did fantastic 👍

Amazing job. Love these lomg video's
Ty
Odell Complete Concrete and Construction. That turned out really nice. That was a big time project I’d imagine. Great series, I really enjoyed it, thanks
Ty
Love how that railing came out. Wish I would of use wire one instead of wood on my deck.
Great job.
one time
This has been quite a job. I can't wait to see what it all looks like when it's completely done.
I really hope you plan on going back for a final look-see... when they have the pool filled and patio furniture and all that. Always nice to see the finished project.
Nice job!!! Erik and Jamie Perkins are my favorite YT builders...good to see their ideas are migrating to the West Coast! Sure would like to see the final final job- this was a big one!!
Bloody great job guys 👍🇦🇺🍺🇦🇺
ty
If/when I do mine I'll use a rubber dead blow hammer for the plugs. And be sure to hold the cable with an Allen wrench after getting the ratcheting box end wrench on the nut to tension the cable by turning the nut instead. I wonder how much length you gained as the cable twist relaxed. Those wraps on the stairs are a pro touch! I like it.
Best to use a block of wood or another chunk of Trex like he did. Dead blow will still leave a mark.
Block of same material is always key
6/3/23;..7 part pool surround & 5ft H block partition wall with sleek black Aluminum square posts & 12 SS cables running horizontally...Wow! Tim, this was a huge time consuming job with lots of grade change, tree root obstruction issues, cc slab prep & finish (beautiful) then transition to ~5ft lower patio slab via 6x6ft upper platform & 7 (ez walk) steps downward on Trek deck boards & treads utilizing same Alumn. Posts & 12 SSwire cables as safety railing. Very nice job!
Gotta say I was expecting a visit from yur Dad to stop by & comment to all we viewers...but guess he is busy in...Arazona?? New Mexico? Stay safe & carry on!👏👏👍👍👍🔧⚙️💪✅️🙂🍺

The really cool thing about that wire fence is, that if Humpty Dumpty were to fall off it, he be in easy to reassemble slices. 😁
Sweet
You've got a great dad.
TY
First time I would like you to do a follow up a few months from now after the home owner gets everything perfect. Nice to see the finished product with the landscaping and pool refurbed.
Sounds good
FKN AWESOME ODELL!!! FKN AWESOME!
Great job!
TY!
*TIMMY!* Nice detail work. I really like that vinyl fencing. It's too bad code only let's you build it so high. If I could I'd surround my property with one of those fences twelve feet high. As it is I have to show my neighbors where they can kiss it every time I go out to the above ground.
ty
👍👍
Nice series... ;-D

I've seen several people have the same issue with those base plates. I think they are designed for the old thicker blades and now everybody has battery saws with thin kerf blades.
For sure
I don’t understand the raw plywood under trex decking? Can someone please explain this to me?
that damn landing could hold an elephant up my god
I concur
love the concrete work everything you guys did to that property, to bad the house itself looks like a crap building
Those caps, either a dead blow or maybe a rubber mallet will work best. I think a dead blow with a soft end would be the best option for those. The grain lines not lined up on the caps was buggin' me! Maybe in person it's not that noticable as it is on camera. My OCD is triggered on that, LOL.
Weathering will blend it in now time.
역시나 멋집니다!

The stairs are not slippery?
They do great work and its a really nice setup I just cant get with that super long post at the bottom of the stairs. It just throws it off for me, if it was same as top posts I think it would look so much cleaner.
WOW looking like a magazine cover so far
I agree ;)
This was a great build series start to finish everything looks great and yeah I saw the stair layout on Perkins also it's been used a very long time I learned it fourth years ago and yeah I'm old. My question is total cost of complete job labor and materials
100,000
You should have put glue before laying the plywood down… still give you credit for not being a framer carpenter. Stairs came out good
Great over all job. The railing looks too industrial for a home IMO, but to each there own.
Yes
I didn't quite get the joint tape on the exposed treated stringers. Water will still get under it no problem. You should have a quart of that stuff to slop onto the fresh cuts so that the treatment is fully maintained.
More the merrier
Line up the grain on the plugs with the Trex board next time.
It'll weather and blend in no time.
Will we see the finished product?
Great job. What is the reason for the top of the landing not being even with the concrete surface?
custom
Tim, what are the solver posts up above?
Wire rail
Did you cut out the 15 minutes thread repair?? after grinding.
10:10 You can also use those mini brass clamps that you tighten down right onto your framing square at the rise and run distances and use the framing square to lay out your stairs.
Any video of the pool getting refinished?
no unfortunately i didn't do that portion
was the wood that they used for the staircase pressure treated sequoian redwood?
I wish
@@OdellCompleteConcrete that's kind of what I thought because I know it's expensive, but it had such a deep burgundy color to it before you painted it that it looked like it could have been!
Greetings from the UK 👋👋 Is that end of the series?? Will you be doing any more work at that house??🤔
Maybe
Did the homeowner decide on the open wire railing to allow for air flow along the poolside? Kinda allowing for a breeze?
Yes
How does water drain through the plywood under the Trex? Is the plywood pressure treated?
Great question. I didn't understand the use of what appeared to be regular plywood and not treated or marine grade for water but maybe it was. I hope so!
Could be
Part 7 !?!
Sorry, I'm just not ready for that kind of a commitment.
Please edit full start-to-finish future projects into a single 30-minute video.
👍👍🍻👷♂
How do you bid these jobs?, I would like to learn more about that. Looks good, but i think its too fancy for the yard
TY
How is water suppose to drain through the plywood below the Trex decking? I would think that plywood would be rotting within a few years.
Are you going to face the cinderblock retaining wall?
yes
Is that actually Trex decking? It really looks like Fiberon decking, which I've installed everywhere at my place.
Yes
9:34 shoutout to Perkins builder brothers
yeah they are awesome :)
WHERE IS YOUR DAD AT?
living the dream
Arizona
We miss him greatly no offense
In the desert living the dream… 🙄🙄🙄
@Ovidiu Ciuparu that's where my wife and I are retiring too.
Are we getting to see the final product.
yes
not tryin' to be one of those not-it-all's but you really want to have your nuts on the bolts first before you cut the bolt off. It's really easy to cross thread the nuts if you don't.
Sounds good
TY
Do you have to install plywood under the composite deck boards? I thought you could install it directly on the framing lumber.
it helps give it more structure and something to fasten to
Could you share where you got the cable rails from?
16:47
Who is that song by
Why would you have not cut the deck joists to have ended on TOP of the posts, vice butting into the post? Resting on top of the post would support far more of a load.

NICE :)
What happened to west coast custom concrete weren't they part of your crew
back in the 90s they pumped the concrete for my dad, so in a sense they were part of the crew
@@OdellCompleteConcrete cmon bro we are not that old😂I met your dad in 2007. By the way you are doing a great job on these projects ✌️
What was the reasoning for having the top stairs platform not meet the concrete at the top? I know there's a reason, just curious.
I would like to know it too.
It’s probably one of them weird California things. 😂
just a home owner choice. Plus this way it wouldn't eat up more concrete space as we would need longer stringers for more steps.
The top is a step every step I seen there is no reason to put even
@@rubenvarela4077 was just asking because it looks like a hazard if people aren't careful. Like I might want to put an orange fluorescent reflective tape on it.
What was the cost of this project?
85000
big money! $30k or snooze
80000
5:52 you can get away with the same amount of screws..1/4” …

doctor friend and client spent a fortune on a tex deck ,patio, hot tub area ect, it was a grey colour, light grey, his son was getting married and called me to come and power wash and generaly do some paint touch ups for the occasion, the deck was just 3 yrs old they live on the waterfront , humidity bugs ect, anyway I tried everything to get that deck to look new again, powerwashing , bleaching , tried everything, looked a 100% better but still the decolorization was right into the plastic and couldnt be removed, being a light grey didnt help, I think the trex is way overpriced and doesnt stand up well to the elements colour wise, the darker the better for that product
Young buggers have to use calculators to add up stuff!
Yes
Everything looks great... but... plywood? :/
marine grade
@@OdellCompleteConcrete phew
I wish
Applewood would’ve charged $660k for this
Ouch
Those stupid cable railings look like an NSA antenna. And they are hard on toddlers and pets.
