      in the world of the NBA, they're champions therefore World Champions. I mean when someone tells their wife "you're my world" they don't mean she's planet sized or you duel someone and you're at a disadvantage and they say "you're in my world now". Also most of the WORLDS best players play in the NBA minus a few I can count with my hands because they didn't want to play in America for no matter the amount of money. LeBron ain't playing in Europe but Jokic is playing in America, Jokic doesn't even like being in America but is because of the NBA, that's how worldly the NBA is. Until some other league starts stealing NBA players in their prime, NBA is THE world championship. These tournaments aren't a gruelling 82 game season followed by a best of 7 post season. Now Soccer/Futbol can have that argument, no single European league is a "world championship"

      @tenthousandagainstone7967 Před 9 měsíci +2

      I mean, Canada can only do so much at the moment. Shai can't win every game for us. Jamal and Wiggin's would, ofc, add much needed depth, but... still 3/4's of the NBA are American players. Until the world has about half of that at the very least, the US will probably still be the best team, provided they unite the Avengers, Light the Beacon so to say. But, honestly, I don't care. Many of their best players are at or approaching the wrong side of thirty and Canada has a decent amount of promising young players that can be added to our depth and more Canadians are entering the NBA at a consistent basis, pretty much annually. Shai, Jamal, Wiggins, Barrett, Brooks, Dort etc are all 20 somethings and with someone like Zach Edey potentially entering the association next year, he'll be a nice addition, given that our front court needs some work. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we have 50+ strong in the NBA within a decade or two. Not bad for a country that's only had an NBA team for a few decades. The rest of the world will continue to produce MVP's and NBA Champs. So, America will have a lot of competition in the coming FIBA and Olympic games. They won't dominate for much longer. 😁😁😁

    Well, it was previously stipulated that professional players can not play in Olympic and FIBA World basketball competitions. They tumbled down to the bronze in the 1988 Olympics in Korea with the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia taking the gold and silver medals. The following year, FIBA lifted the restrictions on pro players and the Dream Team was formed and dominated the 1992 Olympics. In 2004 Argentina also won the gold. So while the best players are in the NBA hands down, basketball is still a team game and there is always a chance that another country can beat them.
