We got literally 3 missions with Jackie.
The “6 months later” cutscene is 10000% percent time we SHOULD have spent building our relationship w Jackie.
Agreed,
Spoiler:
So when he died it really was not all that impactful. You can tell they meant it to be too because the funeral mission for him.
I genuinely get the vibe that those 6 months were originally playable
Because you have a positive relationship with Padre and the Valentino’s going into the
Game with 0 explanation
@@JJsiN84 Yep. I just didn't have any connection with him. It doesn't help that you can spend literally 20+ hours running around after your first visit with Victor doing everything except the main quest before you ever even talk to him again.
That 6 month time-skip so dilutes the relationship that it doesn't feel much stronger than when you first meet him in the Prologue. Can you imagine how much it would have affected you to have a strong bond with him and his Mom? Maybe even helping his relationship with Misty? Talk about your missed opportunity.
And speaking of the funeral and the visit to his little garage/workshop/crash pad, trying to get all the info by asking questions makes it seem like 'V' didn't pay any attention to the guy at all! WT actual F. CDPR really dropped the ball on the V/Jackie best friends relationship.
@@mannymelo949 Indeed, to me It feels to me like the Prologue Montage should've been like the actual first third to half of the whole game, rather than... well... a montage...
@@Uldihaa i did have some of a connection, but it's an old issue for me: "Person that is shown to be important to the Main Char has something happen to them. Emotional!" But we, the players, had just a few scenes... or a 15 to maybe 60 minute Tutorial/Prologue with the character... sure, you might feel bad about it because the protag liked the character, or because in that short time the char was sympathetic... but it just won't have as much impact...
The world makes me feel like I'm the ONLY mercenary in the city.
@Stebo 64 👌
@samsong samsong True, but it has better characters than any open world game ever made. I hope the next GTA steps up the franchise's side characters and missions. They're all trash and forgettable.
I got board plying the game even though it looks great. Started playing godfather 2 on Xbox 360 from 2009 and it’s more interactive.
You know, when 2 indie devs can make a dynamic UNIVERSE (Starsector), but hundreds of AAA devs can't make a single city, there's something wrong.
The only one that matters after Jacky
When CDPR said "It's ready when it's ready" what they meant is "It's absolutely broken and unreleasable and we will release it when it's slightly less broken"
After the trailer the guy saying 'coming when it's ready' gave me chills but after this release just feels depressing :/
Don't worry. It just works. 16 times the detail.
Its 2022 and it still isnt ready, so far for "If they had two more years, maybe they'd deliver on what they promised"

I was disappointed in that there weren't any "day to day" activities in Night City. I couldn't take the day to go to the theater then sit down at a ramen shop and eat a bowl of noodles. Things that would allow you to be a citizen of Night City. Even copying Red Dead type side activities would have been fine. There were too few immersive things to do outside of an actual quest.
Exactly how I was feeling about it. Might as well just go and play GTA V which is definitely more immersive.
That's what I been telling people, besides side missions theres really nothing to do in NC outside of grinding for loot.
Yeah, not even able to bring anybody back to your apartment. They really lied about what you could do in this game lol
Exactly. There's nothing to do in the game outside of "go here and shoot this". Even GTA V had a fully functioning movie theater with actual movies to watch. CDPR should've just stayed in their lane.
@@e.lsabbath3258 Yup, I felt the same. My appartment was just a place to dump iconic loots. And the side missions were also not that interesting. There could be so many random quests, but the side missions we got are almost always "rescue person X, shoot person Y"
Cyberpunk as advertised was like the Big Mac you see on a McDonalds advertisement. The Cyberpunk we got was like the Big Mac you get from the restaurant.

Imagine microtransaction following shortly after their multiplayer release in 2022. The last nail in the coffin for the fanboys.

@@kumorizora2507 It's called a figure of speech and if you read it correctly you'd realize I didn't say every game had multiplayer
I wish they didn't spoil Jackie's death in the cg trailer from e3
Yup major spoiler. They could have easily left it out.
They spoiled a lot of things. Most aren't necessarily major spoilers but they did show how the game starts, they even showed the title screen itself. I didn't mind it at first because a lot of things were expected to change, but when I first booted the game up, it didn't have that impact I was looking for because I've already seen the title screen, I already know how the intro goes.
Honestly with all of the "adverts" they put out talking about how open ended this game would be and how many decisions would actually impact the story creating different scenarios; I figured they put that out specifically because there would be ways to avoid such a situation. Alas they bamboozled me and no such thing exists as there is very little that actually impacts outcomes. Such a shame.
They said it was a player decision. One can choose to go on stealth, which Jackie will live.
I thought it was supposed to be a branching story path if you fuck up somehow. Yea...didn’t realize it was a straight up spoiler
Alex is definitely needed in these extended reviews he’s really the only one to really call companies out when they mess up

"There's no choice" . . . Having only one mission and then the final mission be important literally means no choice, just because you can decide the ending on the last fucking segment does not make all the other 99% have meaning
Honestly, bums me up when they said it was an RPG and how you would be able to do all this and have decisions matter, only to have a half hour opening, different ending, and like one or two unique side quest. Don’t even mention the chat options as most of it is just add a comment and progress the game.
@@GalaxyStudi0s They switched from RPG to Action Adventure gaming in middle of 2018, so middle development after restarting again. With the incorporation of Keanu, they made the game around HIM, thus lots and lots of features had to be cut for the new approach and bc of the difficulties to implement all of them. That's why you are a STREET KID no matter the background, and why 95% of dialog choices are redundant.
Honestly, they should have stared with that from the begining, dont try to chew more than you can.
One path only, make a great somehow linear story, add then DLC's, flesh out the world with different activities, no perk system (it's quite useless being honest), just 6-7 basic attributes and call it a day.
Expand with lots of characters, arcs, mission types, ingame economy and finish it on time. Then add multiplayer and profit with skins, despite saying you "leave greed to others", gamers and shills will forgive you, since you are not EA.
Much more easier and faster than going full berserk mode with an RPG from scratch, with a new engine, with the proyect shifting constantly and working your developers like in a mine.
To be fair that's exactly how the Witcher 3 was. The ending depended entirely on how you treated Ciri after the Battle of Kaer Morhen. Everything before didn't matter.
@@ThaYoungChad Not really. In the W3 you can't determine the ending right before the final mission. CP should have offered more meaningful choices considering V is leagues under Geralt and doesn't change much even when the player picks different choices.

Cancel Multiplayer. Shouldn't ever be released. 100% of the focus needs to be fixing the game (what should've been done to begin with)
I am not at all interested in Cyberpunk multiplayer. I think it's going to be very unbalanced.
I would love to if they cancelled multiplayer and just focused on re-implementing all the cut content.
There needs to be multiplayer because I need more customization!
Singleplayer games end, and then you have a dead game that might have one or two replays before you toss it in the trash and never play it again. Multiplayer games last forever.
Fuck multiplayer. Singleplayer or GTFO.
@@btr003 your idea that "singleplayer = dead game" makes no sense considering witcher 3 is singleplayer only and currently has 15k players. thats after 5 years, most multiplayer games die out in the first month lawl.

But the cut content and lieing is defintly somthing that ticked me off, I mean Christ i knew they cut the main quest down (they admited to this due to complaints witcher 3 was to long which fuck those people), but you can tell they cut hours out of it most notably the start where you get a freaking Cutscene and a timeskip then 4 missions of a "prologue" and a heap of disjointed side quests and meetings (namely fixers), and yes there's more but that's my biggest gripe
And onto the false advertising yeah there's a few big ones there, namely saying it worked on base consoles when no it didn't the game actully made you feel sick on a base (litterly and figurtivly), and here's one of the biggest lies the whole it's an RPG this was marketed for years until fairly recently I believe when most players had already preordered and stopped watching the info due to fear of spoilers (I mean Jackie's death for instance made me stop watching trailers), so never knew they had changed it quietly from rpg to action/adventure, kinda makes me think they spoiled that on purpose to hide it from rpg fanboys who would have dropped there preorders if they knew

Everything else can wait.
It’s gonna take years for them to fix all that shit
most of what you asked for doesn't matter. Having train is pointless because there are so many fast travel points why would you want less ways to travel? That makes no sense on a design level. Even with food vendors, why did I step in to a restaurant, select order a drink, and get soda bottles and pre-packed ramen??? I feel like this was a step back even from Shenmue and that came out two decades ago.
Yup let’s also forget the 80+ side missions and gang fights to get sick loot lol

The ripperdoc idea with changing your body too much and looking crazy: they did that in Borderlands the Pre Sequel with Wilhelm, as you get more abilities you look more and more robotic
And soon we will be able to do the same in real life. 🤣
yeah it didn't impact the story that much but was still cool. You went from a normal person to having a robot voice, cyborg legs and a cyborg punch. It's too bad RPG's don't have an "appearence" modifier on speechcraft. Like would a storekeeper give a discount on a creepy guy wearing a scary skull mask like my character in Skyrim? In that game my tall skinny character, wearing heavy robes and a creepy skull mask hiding his face, went around the town trying to talk to and adopt small girls...

I didn't experience that many glitches playing on pc; and when I did see them they weren't game breaking/didn't interfere with my ability to play the game. Since I was lucky, my issues were mostly with the story, the decisions, and the elements that are supposed to immerse you in the world. I tried to do most of the side missions and optional quests but the world still felt kind of empty, the game feels like a long rollercoaster ride; You can change your position, what your wearing, whether you hold on or put your hands in the air and who is on the cart with you but in the end the rollercoaster smashes into a wall.
14:50 Joe following the theme of Cyberpunk and getting bugged for a split second lol

Honestly CDPR needs to scrap multi-player, the foundation set for the single player can still be realized, after the patches, bug fixes and next gen upgrade they need to sit down and pull a no man's sky, this game has the potiential to become another fallout new Vegas in terms of replay ability. It really disappoints me when I see all the cut content in this game. What this game needs is a renovation, we don't need multi-player.
For real brother multiplayer clearly was just an after thought to give people more of the universe and further sales if they enjoyed cyberpunk 2077 but after this messy ass launch they might as well just cancel it.
Agreed i can speak for everyone but i think a good chunk of the community does not want multiplayer like joe and the guys were saying its predictable that weapons are gonna be extremely OP and game breaking and just make the mode itself unfun to play
I just want them to expand and focus more on the story as much as possible there is a lot of untold stories and unexplored potential with this games story
Question is, will they face another lawsuit if they cancel the multiplayer because those investors are expecting it?

honestly though the bugs arent even the whole of the issues with cyberpunk, its issues are deep rooted in its structure and outcomes, there are many promised things that still have yet to be implemented, things the devs promised throughout advertising and so much of it was lack luster. How the city functions, reactions & operations of civilians, so many open world city mechanics that games like GTA have had decades to smooth out and polish, whereas cyberpunk is still at square 1 in its format and foundation, & with all the hype around it and the direction it took, it came out half baked and sort of contrived, instead of staying true to itself as cliche as it sounds, it went hollywood with keanu and forced a game surrounding him i think to kinda make up for its shortcomings, Hoping the worlds favorite man would rub off some magic on the game and people would be forgiving, because well, Keanu's in it.. .. They should of brought in some Rockstar devs part time or team of open world guidance directors, because Honestly for the "Future of gaming" it might be set in the future, but it acutally seems like the first game a dev makes after doing something completely opposite for so long, and it shows tremendously. It really seems like they were out of their element in this game, and just TRYING to keep the nuts and bolts from breaking or popping out & honestly the story and universe of The Witcher was already a win, it had a solid framework and foundation behind it that was layed out on a platter and it just needed devs to build it and flesh it out... Whereas Cyberpunk needed the foundation and framework MADE and built, the idea of the game was only an outline of potentiality, and They put waaaaaay too much coal in that hype train and promised, and said too much, & it derailed.. Cyberpunk will never recover.. but hey, these are just my opinions, im sure other people would disagree.

DLC: Jackie´s story!
I'd love to see this in the form of a massive overhaul of the prologue portion of the game: replace the 1-2 minute montage cutscene after the lifepath parts with interactive instances of V and Jackie bonding, cappin' fools, and so forth that last much longer and add in some smaller semi-slice of life missions before being contacted by Dexter DeShaun for the heist to give more of a reason for players to like Jackie as a character. I got an interesting ending. I became a legend in Night City as queen of the Afterlife, Judy broke up with me while we lived in a luxury apartment, and V killed herself by flying into space and de-pressurizing her suit while outside her ship. I dunno if that was a good ending or not so I'll consider it "poignant" and leave it at that.
I won't pick up the game again until the bugs keeping me from completing the game 100% are fixed and more things to do are added to Night City. I love how combat feels (especially with double-jump making combat feel like a slower-paced DOOM experience) so I did most of those encounters, but there's one question mark in Watson I think which is stuck inside a building I can't enter, so what's the point of continuing to play post-main story if I can't do everything? There's actually less variety of things to do in Night City than there was in San Andreas in GTA V, and I thought that place underwhelmed. Golf and tennis are pointless and not exactly fun in GTA V but at least they're there. This is from the same company that put the most enjoyable diversion of all time in The Witcher 3, so I'm fucking confused.
The crafting system sucks and is pointless. Even the less useful skills in The Witcher 3 were fun to at least experiment with.
Patch 1.2 is coming and it's going to improve police AI, allow you to steer cars out of stuck situations, improve how vehicles handle (with a steering sensitivity slider), and fix accidental dodging, but that doesn't count as new content for me so I'll stick with DOOM Eternal and Hades, two games from last year that have been terrific from day 1

I still think the game is amazing as it is now, but it’s just not as good as it could’ve been and that hurts the most.
It does seem like there wasn't a focus on the story but I guess once they got Keanu Reeves in they had to make Johnny Silverhand central to the story.
Easily the worst decision story-wise is cutting out the first few months of working with Jackie and making your reputation up to the big heist. If we could actually play that part instead of just a cutscene his death and funeral sub quest would have been so much better
There is a rags to riches ending
Tbf this is Cyberpunk. The obvious creator OCs are the "legends" in the setting, and the story almost always revolves around them. It's not Keanus fault here. Like the ENTIRE PLOT of this game is a continuation of a adventure in one of the last Cyberpunk tabletop games. The bombing of Arasoka tower? An adventure. The saving of Johnny's girlfriend? Another adventure. The issue is that the game was obviously meant to have Johnny as a protaganist, and the PC just being the body for him
@@autumnlotus6250 I understand. I just feel like the main story we got would be better as DLC. I would rather experience my own story in open-world games like this, not someone else’s. It’s definitely not keanu’s fault, he is just an actor.
crafting got me enough eddies to buy legendary subdermal armor, kirosho mk 3, and reinforced tendons on a level 3 character. You can make about 2100 eddies by spam crafting/dismantling 100 bounce backs from the start of the game. paying off victor right away gets you early access to some cyberware that normally takes at least 12-14 Streetcred to access from other rippers. id recommend at least putting 3 perks in it and raising the stat to 7. downside is that i probably spent over an hour in the crafting menue before seeing vic. also it glitches out and stops giving components if you dismantle your entire stack of bounce backs at once. (keep 4-14 components and bounce backs in your inventory to keep this from occuring) but yea. with the tech stat at level 16 you'll be able to use the bounce back loop to create every component in the game and never want for eddies.

I'm all for having significant choices in games, but this one I don't undesrtand, you need to have some events fixed or you just can't work out any narrative flow out of it. Jackie's death is poignant and it would lose importance if it could just be avoided, same with some of the other NPC deaths.

I aint complaining im just saying with the hype of them saying choices this and that and everything else. Youd think something like that would be possible
I didn't run into nearly as many bugs and glitches on the Series X. Of the ones I did have though, some were pretty bad. Namely the phone calls in which the character would call, but the dialogue would never start, locking you out of your menus and preventing you from progressing. The biggest problem I have is that much of the cut content can't exactly be re-introduced, at least, not easily. The engine and coding very clearly does not support a lot of the features that were promised, and it would take years to remedy that. The game can feel extremely immersive at times, but the cracks really begin to show the longer you play it. The replay value is extremely questionable at this point, with life pathes contributing very little to the story or gameplay, a linear progression for the main plot involving the same characters and missions, and endings that all involve V's death (or to put it better, endings of which there is no return; to keep playing, you have to load the save prior to starting the ending sequence). The DLC and expansions for the game will likely include a lot of the cut content, but will it be able to fix many of the fundamental problems with the game? Hard to say.
Some things we definitely need:
- More apartments. There are several locations that were clearly designed to be, but as of right now, sit as unused assets.
- Some sort of public transit service. We may be a ways off from a monorail or subway system, but at least introduce cabs. Maybe buses even. At the beginning of the corpo life path, you even get to ride in one of those flying cars. What would be so hard about setting up some stations or "bus stops" as you will, that let you travel from one point to another this way. It would allow for an alternative mode of transport than fast travel, helping with immersion, and allowing you to focus on your surroundings as you are not the one driving.
- Continued Delamain support. To clarify, after you finish all of Delamain's quests, you can potentially walk away with one of his cabs added to your collection of cars. Unfortunately, it will not drive you places, and Delamain never addresses you when you ride in it.
- A Hwangbo that isn't Hwangbo. Seriously. One of the worst things about this game is how lonely it can feel at times. Sure, most of the main missions have you fighting alongside your pals and going on wild adventures together. But they all end the same way, going your separate ways due to V's "condition," returning to an empty apartment, doing side quests all by yourself. We need followers or companions in a game of this scope. And admittedly, we do find out about the lives of our friends, and why they can't necessarily follow us around all the time. So perhaps as a reward for completing their arc? I dunno.
Those are just a few of the things that might bring me back for a second playthrough.
This came and left my mind faster than any "rpg" I've ever played.. Alex said it perfectly. Such a disappointment for all gamers (and I did have some fun with it)

Cdpr isnt talented enough
Yeah they won't cancel it, the investors want it so they can sell comsetics to all the braindead fanboys, hoping to match GTA Online in revenues.
I'm starting to think it's the only reason this game was made in the first place, at least from a shareholder perspective. Might explain why they went from advertising an RPG to releasing a linear action-adventure game. CDPR wanted to make an RPG, and the investors wanted a GTA-like to make more money.
Brrrr
@@Texelion3Dprints i mean, imho a GTA-like RPG would've been the perfect type of game for Cyberpunk 2077... too bad that it ended up as neither flesh nor fowl nor a good fusion of both.

“You had faces in your game” had me going that was hilarious lol
I think they could use one of the endings, make it "canonical" for the DLC/Expansion whatever (there is one particular ending that would allow the story to continue, keep both V and Johnny in the picture, as it where and would also allow them to expand the game world. Yeah, there was no faction system in the base game because V was on a timer. He had to get shit sorted first. That is done now you get to do whatever you want in Night City. Implement the faction system, let the player choose their own allegiance, make their own way; have all kinds of races, events, investigations, whatever, and set an important but non-urgent overarching goal. You've told the story, now let the player actually be a night city merc and make the game more systems driven than event driven.
My concern however, is that no matter how much the devs or CDPR as a whole might want to do something like this (or whatever their original vision for the game is), it may not be realistically possible due to financial or investor pressure. CDPR isn't that huge, they don't have a major release every year... and they might just be forced or at the very least highly incentivized to just move on as soon as possible. Bring the game to a decent technical state, add content as paid DLC but otherwise not improve or overhaul the game significantly.
I want the replayability. Done everything in the game, and replaying it would not be that different.
The city design is beautiful but needs a lot of things that adds to inmersion (better npc ia and daily routines, interaction with street vendors, animations for riperdocs like the 2018 demo, better police system, tatoo and barber shops, car customization, minigames and more)

My favourite multiplayer type is cooperative, PvE. In a roleplaying game, MP often is incredibly fun in a team up scenario.

Exactly, I’m a Keanu fan, but I find his character extremely annoying. They should have it where you can get rid of him if you want, or keep him though the story.
But that would take away the character building in the story. You share a mind with him.
There's nothing stopping you from exploring the world, just don't follow the tracks till you are ready.
Should have been an optional side quest that could change the ending and other situations, would be way to short for paid dlc.
@@Alex-K94 I would rather have it in the story where I could get him out of my mind for good. And the story follow accordingly, and change. Sorry, but I can't stand the character.
You didnt even mention the terrible clothing system with locked stats. You have a choice: Wear cool ass looking outfit that you found with 10 armor, or wear an orange bikini, buffalo fur hat, pink shorts, green swimsuit and flip flops with 250 armor. There is no way to upgrade old items to good stats.
There is an upgrade option in the crafting menu. But its cost prohibitive and not really good enough to let you keep using what you want. I think they wanted to let you do that but once again didn't deliver.
You have to look for clothing with mod slots. Then use one of the mods that boost Armor like 100. I also found that if you go to a clothes store, save and reload. The options/items with mods can change. But I agree it should be better.
yeah i cheesed this a little with crafting upgrades (found a cool jacket and matching pants). eventually had to pick Generic Grey Trenchcoat because it had like 60 more armor and i was getting destroyed :(
The multiplayer could be something like Payday, each player being either a merc on a mission or corporate security trying to stop them. Or things like corporate espionage missions, hits on rival gang/corporation convoys, etc.
I think these could be fun if implemented correctly.
We would most likely not be playing our V during the main story's timeline, but maybe these could be based during the "6 months" between the prologue and Act 1. Or just play another merc, whatever.
Cyberpunk 2077 turned me into a retro gamer, I'm playing half life now.
I'm playing Oblivion
Deadass these games are out here turning us into hipsters playing outdated shit I even considered buying gta iv just for the culture LMAO
@Harper Swan graphically, I'd beg to differ lol
Me playing Deus ex HR
Alex telling it like it is is so refreshing.
He makes Joe uncomfortable, he starts looking at his phone lol

Where was this?

@@Kronos0999 I think that’s Joe looking at his notes
"What would multiplayer be then?"
Utterly imbalanced and broken.
Getting shot through solid cover, because weapons like widowmaker or Blyatrevolver exist? Yeah not nice.
A weapon with homing bullets that can aim for headshots? Not nice either.
Multiplayer have to completly rebalanced or outright ban some weapons(-types). I am hoping CD Red scrap that idea of a maybe GTAlike multiplayer here.
Folks already datamined multiplayer files. We know there will be a "scoreboard" and what stuff it tracks, but also that there will be p2p gameplay with one person as host and "Heists" so you can play with chooms
Multiplayer doesn't mean pvp. Could be coop
coop, not pvp.
Would be fine if mp was just coop campaign.
Heres my take when it comes to crafting:
On the first playthrough it was completely useless and everything was so damn expensive that I didnt get any of the good upgrades until way later in the game. HOWEVER once i started my second playthrough i realized that selling spare food (that id picked up and never used because the game gives you plenty of meds just off of looting bodies) and crafting weapons to sell were the way to go to get some serious cash. I was around lvl 15 with lvl 32 street cred off of doing the side encounters and crafting and selling stuff. By that time i thing id had over 200k which was WAY more than id ever had in the first playthrough. I think there had to be a bigger need for it when it comes to actually using the weapons you can craft because i really never had any use for them since id do a side mission and come out with wayy better guns that anything i can craft.
They should of had us play the 6 months later montage mission it looks like a bunch of fun cause Jackie is that one cool dude you get in a game and he's thrown away 2 missions later literally
Yup I was about as attached to Jackie at that point as I am with the booger I just picked.
And now they're both just gone, and I don't care.
I thought the montage was hilariously put together but yeah they should've included more Jackie missions. Such a great character.
I thought it was a preview. Like, this was a blank slate main character. In most 'life paths' they literally say, "eh, forget the past." Then in the life path intro your world is reset AGAIN. Now is when you freaking establish V. Nope. They fucking take that away AGAIN. Then they kill you, making V a literal blank shell. Unbelievable. It's like a story where every scene ends with a character being knocked out becuase the author doesn't know how to do transitions. This games writing was on another level bad.
@@DrRynsta exactly proving his fucking point, they fucking FAILED TO MAKE HIM IMPACTFUL
I will take Jackie over every douchey coked out character Marc Maron has ever played in Keanu's digital form.
