- The F1 car is finally back together! We're off to TDF in the least sensible Shmeemobile possible, to see the reassembled Williams FW19 showcar in all of its glory. After some progress with the office build, we also have a few special extras to reveal!
Before things get started, let's jump back to the start of the day to see what Martin and the Novus team have been getting up to. Doors are being installed, final bits of plasterboard are up and Webbo is taping and jointing the whole construction. There will be a brief pause before things continue once the next materials have arrived, but in the meantime it's amazing to see the dream coming together.
Now it's time to pick a car for the journey to TDF, and because it's damp and miserable outside... the McLaren Senna seems like the perfect choice, right? @Shmee150 and Tom are embarking on what's going to be an interesting drive! Having made it safely, it's time to uncover an almost complete Formula 1 car and run over everything that's been done with James (a wizard when it comes to all things F1) from the custom-built mirror stalks to the steering wheel now turning the wheels.
Finally, Tim and Tom are setting up a new desk and chair in preparation for the completion of our office build. These include the Noble Chairs LEGEND TX gaming chair finished in anthracite and the Nitro Concepts D12 gaming desk finished in black & red. Brad has also been using the Nitro Concepts D16E desk which is electrically adjustable. You can find everything we're using at Overclockers: www.overclockers.co.uk/

This is such an exciting project, I can't wait to have it back at the garage in full completed glory! However, those new things we've shown for the office space are going to be really nice too...

For safety reasons I've not have the door opening up into the garage
It's not too late to get a plug fitted into the wall , high up so the sign would cover it, and hide any cables. Maybe fit it with a TV bracket so the angle can be changed depending on the size of the car and angle of the camera shot?

Tim like where you are going with all the Shmuseum upgrades especially the neon light! Now you know where you are wanting to place the main sign, you should put an outlet/receptacle at the location where it will be behind the sign so the cord can be hidden. Now is the time while in construction to plan where you want to place items so when you are done with construction you will not have cords visible everywhere. Just an suggestion and love your channels!

The office build is looking good, however I think you should have glass panels on the doors to let natural light into the reception room.

Love the F1 car... I was a huge JV fan! ( I'm Canadian didn't have a choice lol) Thanks can`t wait to see it all done!
You can get fire rated doors with glazing, why you would chose to fit a solid door going into the barn is madness, it would allow natural light into the passageway plus also means you can see what is on the other side, a solid door is an accident waiting to happen.
Imagine a small electric motor in the F1 car to move it around. Some sort of one pedal drive- brake system to get it to stop. A reverse gear would be very simple too then. Fitting it would be a challenge probably. Given Tim had something to do with those little legends cars sourcing the powertrain shouldn't be too hard.
Get a space heater to dry the tape joints quicker.
Tape joints should dry properly.
While there is still work in progress going on now would be a good time to have a wall outlet installed behind the new neon sign so as to not see any wires.
Also for any tv’s as well.

I don’t like EVs but if the F1 car was mine I would stick an electric motor in it just so it can be driven when moving it, doesn’t need to be driven in anger but would be great to just drive it around every now and then and being electric would be much less maintenance plus it would be massively expensive to source a correct engine for it and they aren’t the type where you just hop in and push the start button
It is a shame to use that downstairs space for office; a welcome room would be more appropriate
