It was so bad that Dirk spent the offseason on some kind of Australian walkabout trying to find peace and meaning in life. Mark Cuban cried during Dirk's MVP presentation and Dirk didn't even want to accept the award. So yeah, it was a pretty devastating loss.

usually the player got the award in the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs during a home game cause it was assumed his team would go that far. thats probably the 1st time in nba history that mvp got eliminated in 1st round

lol - my brother (and many others) waited at the Oracle parking lot for the ticket booth to open on the day of the game (game 3) to purchase the residual tickets, probably 7am or something. Once a booth opened - and it was not known which one would be open - there was a mad sprint to the open booth, people jumping over parking dividers, climbing walls, etc. to get in line for the chance to buy the few hundred remaining tickets. It was totally worth it and in our house hold, we still have the Comcast We Believe Tshirt swag from that game.
