    Ah yes. 2007. I remember it well. Warriors and Mavericks. The mavs demolished everyone in the regular season to an astounding 67 wins. Dirk put up some incredible numbers: 24 PPG, 9 RPG, while having one of the most efficient shooting seasons ever. 50% from the field, 42% from 3 and 90% from the free throw line. Only to get bounced by the 8th seeded warriors. Luckily Dirk would get revenge a few years later in 2011.

    giannis didnt collapse in the playoffs, rather the team did. The bucks were a threat because of giannis and his paint dominance and becasue of that the wall was made by nick nurse in 2019. But the issue with the wall was that it usually left spots on the perimiter open. Giannis knew when to not score because of 2019 so he used his body was a way to drive in and cause open spots on the floor and dish it out to players there. The main issue with this bucks team was its shooting. Brogdon wasnt there, moritic wasnt there, lopez and bledsoe were inefficient. The only true shooters to rely on were middleton and hill unlike today where there are shooters on the team. Giannis only had one bad game in that playoffs with was game 3

    Man, Dirk must have been in so much pain (psychologically), previous year (2006) he lost to the Miami Heat in the finals while the Mavericks had a 2-0 lead and in 2007, he underperformed against the Warriors and they lost 4-2 in the first round. But, he overcame it and in 2011 him and the team won perhaps one of the toughest championships against Miami's superteam.

    • @younglove3362
      @younglove3362 Před rokem +1

      That Heat team was no super team. Most of those high caliber players were past their prime. The 2005 team was much better. We lost to the Pistons because all their home games were officiated in favor for them. I would complain, but in honesty, we got favorably against both, the Heat and Mavericks in 2006. I'd be lying if I said I didn't see suspect officiating.
      P.S. Yes, Dirk was hurt because the officiating robbed him of a ring but it also didn't kill him, resulting in making him stronger in 2011. I knew that if the Mavericks were in the finals that our Heat would be in trouble. Lightning 🌩 doesn't strike twice.

And his fg% was still above 50. His blocks aren't on a stat sheet but had 7 blocks per game in that series. So how did wilt underpreform? And his 2 all star teammate who played 46 minutes score half as many points as wilt and also let's not forget who's he competing for rebounds bill fucing russel also having 3 all star doesn't match 3 hofs where 1 is averaging 25 boards and other 2 are scoring 25+ per game.

This year everything has gone their way, (compared to past Timberwolves teams anyway,) and I see this as the shape of things to come. If Minnesota wins even ONE playoff series, it will be a successful season by their standards.

    The MVP usually doesn't make or win the finals. The MVP has won the title I think 23 times in a 75 year league. I really don't think Curry belongs on the list for making the finals, reaching game 7, and averaging 22 being double and triple teamed on an injured knee and losing to a top 2 all time player. He got them there and his team played poorly around him despite him soaking up the defense.
    So the 73-9 warriors as a whole definitely disappointed, but the MVP? Nah. He didn't play terrible given the circumstances, and if the expectation is that the MVP needs to win the title, this video would be an hour long. At some point it's a team sport.
    Side note: did you drop this video now because you don't want to write and film a new section about Joker later this year? Lol

      @@nicholausbell2749 See but when your 'worst' playoff performance is almost identical to any other year statistically (seriously, look it up, the numbers aren't different than any other year, almost identical to how he played in 2018), and his worst series is something like 22/5/5, it still isn't really a choke. People simultaneously say that Curry doesn't show up in the playoffs and hold him to higher expectations than anybody besides Lebron in the playoffs. I don't see much OKC or Houston on this list and those MVPs couldn't even make the finals, but Curry is literally just four points a rebound and an assist below his playoff average 26/6/5 IN THE FINALS AGAINST THE EAST FAVORITES and it's a "choke".
      There are MVPs with first and second round exits, MVPS losing to 8 seeds, MVPs getting stunned by teams nobody thought had title chances, MVPs putting up role player numbers for a series, I don't get how people think making the finals, losing to the team everybody thought would make the finals and challenge them, and averaging like 22/5/4 or whatever it was in the 7 game series is in the same category.
