  • Here's a brand new truck that I was not even aware was on a route; a 2021 Peterbilt 520 Labrie Expert 2000 Dual Helping Hand.
Myself and Jonathan were out really early (by 6AM) peaking around a nearby complex to try to find one of CWS's M/As. After not finding anything, we decided to check out another area that we thought #523 was in. In the morning darkness, I saw what I thought was a M/A, but the entire truck was white and the body didn't match up. Then it clicked that we had found one of the 520 Expert 2000s that Garden City recently received to replace their diesel WXLL Expert 2000s.
The funny thing is that this is actually Mike's new truck. He said he used to have one truck for the one-way streets (#702) and one truck for normal residential routes (#622). The company I guess decided instead of giving him two trucks, he just has one truck that can handle both the one-ways and normal streets.
I gotta say, it's still a shock to the system to see a brand new GCS truck, but it's a pleasant surprise as well. Found it kind of odd that they went for a tag axle & flat tailgate set up on an Expert 2000. They even went as far as to ditch the comb lifters on the LHD side and replace it with an entire arm. It'll be interesting to see how it handles one-way streets, as everyone's accustomed to squishing the bins together down there.
Special thank you to Mike for allowing us to film!
    Enjoy the video!

These are not too bad! They are pretty quick and quiet for the most part. I really liked that GCS sticker with the old cng sticker they have on the tailgate, nice signboard too. Hopefully they get quicker and possibly start flipping lids. I wonder what else GCS has coming to their fleet.

The Garden City fleet was mostly Labrie Automizers and older Autocar wxll Helping hands. Judging by the description, he drove both trucks.

Hi, this driver would drive 702 on Monday and Thursday. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday he would drive 622. Only reason why there is a dual operating arm because it is cost effective to give this driver 1 truck so it can work in all of his routes instead of buying 2.
