- So we're not really sure what happened but Rosie is in a lot of pain. The doctors think she might have a spine injury! Please keep her in your prayers! Todays vlog is definitely not that great because we had to focus on our little ween! Comment a "❤️" for our RO RO!

Please please please get Rosie a playpen! Keeps her contained and gives her everything she needs in a controlled space and gives you peace of mind of no jumping
I have a dachshund who has had a couple instances where she hurt her back. The main thing that helps is rest and pain meds!! It is SO so important to keep her from running around and being too active. The tricky thing is once the meds kick in they think they feel better and want to run around. So keep her on cage rest for a while even if she seems to be doing better. Also other people have said this but look into getting little stairs or a ramp for beds and couches so she isn’t jumping as much. I know it’s so hard to have your dog be in pain. Thinking of you guys!❤

Hi Ashley! I have mini dachshund name Shea. He’s 14. When he was 6 years old, one of his disc in his back flipped and he had to have surgery. It was the same symptoms as Rosie. It was scary, but he is happy and healthy. He can’t jump or walk up and down stairs, but he’s perfectly fine now. He does have a few things that are a little bit harder for him since the surgery, but he hasn’t let it affect him🩷 I hope Rosie is okay!
I had a miniature dachshund for 13 years, and he had similar injuries from jumping. I highly recommend getting some miniature stairs that Rosie can use to get from the floor to your bed! It took my dog a while to get used to them, but it was better than him hurting himself trying to get onto my bed or trying to train him not to sleep next to me when he’d been doing so for years.

Hey Ash i have a mini dachshund and she had the same symptoms and had surgery by a neurologist. It was scary but she had injured her discs. Pls take her to the specialist and get her back checked out. Do not let her go up snd down the stairs, up on ur laps in chairs. Place her in a play pin with all her toys

More Rosie this is so heartbreaking. It's the absolute worst that we can't communicate properly. It's the main reason we have started teaching our puppy signals to tell us what he needs as best as he can. Those word panels for your dog are awesome for that as well. Rosie is in my prayers. Your such a great auntie for taking care of her. I agree that you should think about a big playpen for her till she's feeling better or you know exactly 💯 what's wrong

For Ro Ro❤️ thank you for sharing your experience with social anxiety. I have always struggled with it as a child and it feels refreshing to see another adult who is still trying to learn and navigate with it. Definitely resting and realizing everyone else is anxious and struggling to socialize helps me remember none of us are perfect and just trying our best. 🩷

Sending all the prayers. My sweet boy had a back injury. He was half corgi half chihuahua. His name was Colby Jackson or Jack Jack for short. When his X-rays came back he had compressed disc and a broken one as well. Still breaks my heart because he was to old to have a successful surgery. We had to put him down since he was in so much pain 😢. I pray this doesn’t happen to you. I know their pain is traumatic. SENDING ALL MY LOVE AND PRAYERS.

Hi ashely! I also have a dauchsand and they too have spinal issues. We just make sure shes not jumping from heights and we carry her up the stairs as well. Its been helping her a lot, but i just wanted to let you and alisha know your not alone!

Poor baby! That reminds me of when my bunny started to bleed in the middle of the night during COVID and I had to search for an emergency clinic and they had to do surgery, I spent all my savings on that but best spend ever!

my older Chihuahua had a sprained back. 5 weeks of strict kennel rest, supervised potty time. cuddling if we gently carried her and stayed w her and but her back after.

A dog ramp is what I use for my weenie to get to bed/couch. Also maybe a larger crate or playpen for her to rest. 🙏Rosie 🙏
Maybe consider changing all the beds to low bed frames 🤍

I understand very well how you feel about Ross. My puppy got an infection in the uterus and the vets couldn't figure it out until it was too late. When they realized it was too late because the infection had taken over the whole body. It was a big loss and pain for me. So I suggest that if Rossi still has a uterus, please remove it because it brings infections. Before it's too late, as it has been too late for me. I wish Ross health and long life with you. My baby ran away and lived only 2 years. I miss here so much..its really sad .....I love you, thank you for the wonderful Vlogs, you don't let us feel alone. Please don’t let her wander. I have 3 sausages and one has had surgery for IVDD I bought steps with carpet on it literally everywhere for my couches beds and everything I found them on Amazon I did months of training with treats as doxins love haha but my other two use them and fingers crossed they’ve not had issues and mine are 12 and 11 years old but we got our one that had the surgery a pen to keep him contained and safe
Hope rosie's pain goes away soon and that the doctors find out what's wrong with her.
It could be intervertebral disc disease (IVDD).
Dachshunds are one of the breeds that have a high risk of it. I have a Pekingese who has had two IVDD surgeries. It is the ruptured, slipped, bulging or herniated disk. It compresses the spinal cord, often damaging the dog's nerve impulses.
If caught in time it reduces the risk of them not walking again.
Most of the time it is just genetics or even age..that "jelly-ish" stuff between the disc starts becoming thinner.
So sorry for Rosie❤
Try to keep her movements to a minimum..heat helps.
Have them do a MRI. It can show which disc has slipped and can possibly be fixed.
I don’t know if it will help Rosie, but I know a lot of people who get help for their puppers with animal chiropractors! Maybe give that a try? Obviously, if it’s not an actual injury. Hope she feels better soon! ♥️

I take my working cattle dog to the chiropractor regularly and it 100% helps!! Just a thought!

Hoping for a quick recovery, please keep an eye on Rosie! My ween started with limping and it ended up being a spine injury. Make sure she doesn’t jump off furniture or use the stairs during this time just to prevent and further complications

Poor Rosie and as for ash I’d highly suggest getting some essential oils with your favorite scent and do some breathing exercises it always help me. And if your at a social event but not feeling it just take a break maybe outside or a quiet place you can find
When I get those kind of stages, I just go for a ride but if you have to stay at home, just do whatever the heck you can for yourself whoever you’re taking care of. Otherwise I don’t know what else to tell you dear.

I have anxiety and social anxiety too. My advice is trying to find that equal balance of forcing yourself to go out, and staying home. My fiancé and my parents have encouraged me to do venture out and do my own thing/having my own little outings by myself (going to Michaels, barnes and noble, target by myself). I have been struggling with my anxiety and recently I have been finding the time to read a little more and doing a little bit more of my art.
This might be so far fetched. Maybe you and Jackson could do something new that peaks your interest and have hime come along as an emotional support human. Or you could bring Taryne or a different to come to different comforting outings.
Poor baby Rosie. How is she doing now and did you guys figured out what if it more of a bad back injury? When animals are hurt and bite, they don't mean to bite you or anything it's just a safety mechanism.
