  • We all know about Toni Kroos and his football boots that he hasn't changed in years, but what about his shin guards, or lack thereof? He doesn't seem to wear shin guards at all! Is that allowed by FIFA? Is he wearing something else instead? Is that unsafe? All of these questions and more will be answered in this video! Would you play without shin guards if you could?

    Apparently everyone has there own idea of how to pronounce "Kroos". I've heard it pronounced multiple different ways, with the seemingly most correct way of saying it being the way that I say it in this video, at least that's what I'm trying to do. If that's not exactly how you say it, I'm sorry. Enjoy the video. Joosh.

      that pronunciation man, jeez.. i am german so let me tell you: just pronounce it kinda like "crows" (english speakers tend to say it like "crews" or "cruise" or "cruz", which is wrong), but without the gliding from the "o" sound to the "u" sound, so it's like you are leaving out the "w" and you are getting something like "cro's". the double o's are simply a stretched "o" sound.

I never achieved to go to any high level league, but i never wore shingards, and cleats were a problem for me as well. Playing alot of futsal makes u kind of hate the studs, ball roll in a wet environment is like almost impossible, idk just completely different. I’m from uk. Few years ago in a Sunday league match a team mate of mine got a yellow card for consistently letting his socks go down and exposing his shin pads. Apparently the edges of the shin pads are considered dangerous and it is against the rules to have any part of them showing. Also, much like Toni Kroos; Francesco Totti, Rui Costa and Juan Veron wore next to nothing as shin pads. Always gave me the impression that they were never gonna put in a tackle or run very much in the game. It just looks unprofessional but at their level i don’t think that statement works lol.

    Hey Josh, I had surgery on my foot a while back and its fine now, but after a couple of hours of football my ankle are and top of foot begin to hurt. Are there any products that you recommend that would help strengthen the area/make it less painful over time (preferably within a reasonable budget). Thanks.

      Tape is by far the most effective way to stabilize your ankles, especially when wearing tight fitting soccer cleats.

    So can someone play with a shinguard the thickness of a credit card , as the rules don't talk about the thickness or length of the shinguards( I think )

    • @Soccerreviewsforyou
      @Soccerreviewsforyou  Před 6 lety

      The rules don't seem to specify that the shin guards need to be anything specific, so technically you should be able to do that.

    Hey Josh, I havent bought a pair of cleats since my T90 laser 3’s in like 2012, I now work for adidas and was wondering which pair from adidas would be most like the t90’s? Ive been looking at the womens 18.1 since I recently saw ur video or the Nemesis.

      Nothing from any brand is anything like those. That's a style of boot that simply went away.

    I forgot to put my shin guards on during a highschool final game. We lost 4-1, because the ref kicked me out of the game with a red. A frickin 8th grader had to play striker.
