Thanks just made mine from blue satin and it looks and feels great, I do not own a sewing machine so I did it all by hand!, it took about 5 hours and it is my first project, I am really proud of myself but I will be even prouder if my seams will successfully endure the washing machine!
This was PERFECT to follow! I so much prefer seeing the process than hearing it over the top of the video! I'm still new to sewing and I LOVED making these!

Wow! this is perfect for a pillow cover with faux fabric fur! 2 seems less (at each extremety) than other videos ! Perfect for me..... less strugle with cutting less fabric that plushes all over ! Many thanks XX

Excellent explanation! My fabric ravelled easily, so after hemming the short ends, I did the folding with the overlap wrong side to wrong side, then flip, press and sewed right side to right side enclosing the first well trimmed seam. You will need an extra 1/2 - 1" of width to do this. But then your ravelly side seams will be enclosed.

Thank you for this tutorial! Two questions: (1) Is that a .5 inch seam allowance? (2) what's the measurement for folding down the edges? I seem to have missed these instructions. Thanks!
I wish there was a response for this. The video mostly great but not knowing how much seam allowance was used and the amount used for the hem on the sides (I used too much and lost the full length by 1 inch...plus why 4" for overlap (personal preference?) And why isn't the envelope opening in the middle?? Thank again but just have a few clarifying questions... thanks!

4.5 is the standard measurement I usually take while sewing an envelope pillow. It works well and never disappoints me. ☺️

Hi, great tutorial, but quick question.. I am making a huge rectangular pillow measuring 26 inches by 80 inches. Would I still use the 4.5 inches for the flap or more???? Its a gift for a friend. So I don't want to get it wrong. Thanks
Hi Laila!! You can take around 5.5" extra fabric for the flap.. that would work for a bigger sized pillow cover.
