My husband and I are learning so much. I have been looking for new things to do and for my kids as well. and this is very educational. We have two young girls so, we have been busy taking care of them. But this sparks our relationship because before we had our kids we were always doing outdoors stuff. thanks
It’s awesome that you guys met up and the chemistry you guys have. As a small channel with even a smaller niche, it hard to find people who willing to work together and most of the big guys don’t bother to look at our content. Happy to see you on the rise.
Hello from Florida! I have literally been binge-watching this playlist! My favorite part about all of this is all the awesome beer you guys drink!! Cheers!!
oh my... Kevin.. You made it happen. This is the episode I was taking about. Great!!!!Good Job Taku. Good Job Kevin!! Team players!! Go get em Scallops.
I love how towards the end of the video at around 9:00 the bird is just chilling, coming closer to have a look at what you are doing and stay . They love fish.
Outstanding video! Scallops are some of the best eats! And striped perch plus rock crab! Weird that the urchin was so empty, and I can't wait to hear why! That is one epic meal y'all put together! Great stuff!
Great video once again. Glad to see those crabs went out like rock stars lol. Congrats on spearing that fish. Would love to see a scallop ceviche episode. Keep up the great work 👍
Great vid as always! Those scallops had some FAT kaibashira. Makes my mouth water just looking at em. Also really looking forward to the vid on the purple urchin issue, especially from someone in the industry who is right there in close proximity to such large quantities of them. I plan on making an uni harvesting trip up that way sometime soon. Keep up the good work!
So I came from fisherman’s life channel and wow I can’t stop watching your videos and how great of cook you are......also I wondering where you learned to cook from.
I only recently tried (cooked)scallops , never knew what I was missing. I’m sure they are a few days old by the time I get them where I am. But still a treat
Oh dude you are living the life.... sadly I'm in San Jose hours away from any kind of viable beach, it takes me 2+ hours to get to Santa Cruz, for instance. But I'm learning about the local plants, like the excellent wild/feral radish tops, I'm going to have some good eating next Spring (they're pretty much done for the year now) and I'm also "foraging" for some things in my local Asian markets, where you can find abalone, turban shells, and a wonderful discovery, whole boiled scallops from Japan, at Nijiya market. The main muscle that you eat is good, but the other stuff, wow really good flavor! In 5-10 years I can retire home to Hawaii and maybe I'll go fishing every day!
Raw scallops are so delicious, i have never tried it as sashimi, but i love scallop nigiri. Cant wait to see what you will show us next time ! Keep up the great work. Love from an aspiring sushi chef from Norway
I have that same folding fillet knife. I know for a fact it doesn't come sashimi sharp from the factory. You gotta do an Outdoor Chef's knife sharpening/care supplemental video. Love your vids. Always make me hungry.
Taku try searching under crevaces or rocks for fish. And when you see a school of fish don't dive in quick. Pick a target then slowly close in and aim for it.
Haha at the end, the sea urchin spine going in your chin, ouch. I got those long really sharp black and white sea urchin spines in my foot at Sandy Beach when I was a kid, I pulled out what I could, and the rest, I had to just leave in my foot and let them dissolve... it was prickly walking there for a while.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, I would PAY to spend a day with you going fishing and cooking up a beast of a meal on the beach. Love your vids! Keep it up :)
scallop ceviche is really good. You can also mix em in with some shrimp, aguachiles style. Look it up and try it. you won't be disappointed. If your ceviche fan, you'll love aguachiles.
You should do a goose neck barnacles catch and cook there usually found on the shoreline with mussels. Me and my dad went to go get some after we saw a video about them. You should search it up and do a catch and cook
Watching all of this while I’m making my top ramen. I got scuba lessons for my birthday though and I start in two weeks. Hopefully I can make some of the stuff you guys are.
Bro I'm from Eleuthra in the Bahamas. I'm looking to do stuff like this when I move back home! Would love to host you guys and do a collab. My knife skills are on point but your channel has helped me refine them and you fillet skills are legend! I can't wait to move back and start practicing! To fillet a fish seemed an impossible feet but not anymore! Your channel is great dude! Keep it up!
"Hopefully he was... finished" hahahah! That's all we can really hope for in life isn't it? As long as we finished it's all good.
Rude! ;)
No way that's a happy ending....
If I saw that I would’ve left my guy to handle his business.
Joey Hinds
"happy ending"

Kevin has one of the best channels out and it's just getting slept on.
He keeps saying that he’ll start making videos again soon, hope he does!
The music in your videos is so good I sometimes catch myself watching these without even noticing while I do my work

Damn!!,, The visibility was killer.. But Jesus, the kelp got hammered ! I don't even want to know what the abalone looked like down there :(
It was gin-clear, but yeah the ab situation is really sad to see!
Kill the purple urchins. As many as you can
Great video once again. Glad to see those crabs went out like rock stars lol. Congrats on spearing that fish. Would love to see a scallop ceviche episode. Keep up the great work 👍

The water is so nice up there... We've had this yellow murk in the first 3-5meters here in San Diego almost all spring... way to much rain
Probably the coolest thing about cali is being able to do stuff like this
Your vids are great! Editing and music is subtle and appreciated, I hope success comes your way!
That was funny with the crabs lol
Hhahaha. “Hopefully he was finished” hahahaha🦀🦀
Poor crabby! The ocean is vast but still no privacy for them to do their thing lol
Scallops and Bakery by the Bruery, what a combo...
I love your videos. I'm on a trip to Arcata from Ohio at the moment, and would like to try my hand at costal foraging, all thanks to you!

Lets go! That was a sick episode man. This weekend the weather looks prime for crabbing 🤙
OMG! You threw away the roe! The muscle and roe is the best!
You should do a goose neck barnacles catch and cook there usually found on the shoreline with mussels. Me and my dad went to go get some after we saw a video about them. You should search it up and do a catch and cook
Great beer choice! Great video Taku, food looked delicious!
I was wondering why sea urchin or “uni” is so expensive when it seems to be all over
In nz its expensive because they have t harvest i by hand with out dive tanks. So they can only get what they can reach in one breath
Uni doesn't last very long after its been harvested. Unfortunately, after 2 or 3 days, the uni loses a lot of its good flavor.
Welcome to the world. Instead of purchasing uni, just find a spot and catch some. Not even catch, grab some.
Expensive coming from people.
It's because commercial uni is actually red urchin instead of purple, and as you can see, red uni is less in quantity in the sea
Lots of uni for grabs !
Very cool video Taku!
KUDOS TO JOCELYN AND DIANE FOR SUPPORTING YOUR MEN !!!
