  • This video reveals the best carbohydrate sources for building a lean body.
    It explains my top 10 carb sources and my rapid fire reasoning as to why I chose these in my list.
    You have likely noticed that carbohydrates are a topic of BIG debate in more recent times.
    Many people throw around the word 'carbs' and paint them all with a VERY broad brush.
    But, as with other macronutrients (like protein and fat), not all carbohydrates are the same.
    There are some good sources and not so good sources of carbohydrate.
    The quantity of carbs required is also different for each person.
    An individual's genetic profile, hormonal system, and energy needs are just some of the factors to consider when it comes to carbs.
    Thus, the types of carbs you include (if any), the quantity of these, and when you consume them matters A LOT.
    These factors will have a significant impact on your overall health, body composition, and performance.
    And if you are like most, you are likely looking to improve all these things.
    ...especially body composition.
    When it comes this goal, the requirements for protein and fat usually stays the same for most people (generally speaking).
    If someone is looking to lean down, carbohydrate intake will likely need to be reduced.
    If someone is looking to build muscle mass, carbohydrate intake will need to go up.
    BUT, whatever your intake level, where you are getting your carbs from MATTERS.
    Unclean cutting is just as much a problem as dirty bulking for most.
    You will lose excess muscle mass on the former, and you will gain excess fat doing the latter.
    This is NOT good on many levels.
    Both scenarios have implications for not only your body composition, but also for your energy levels, and your health.
