Even when the Cold War ended in the late 20th century, a fragile peace remained over the planet . Some new military powers emerged to challenge the balance of the established powers. The race in armament production and the building up of military strength continued, and in the second decade of the 21st century, the world's armies have grown to a level never seen before in history.

Got to love that word obsolete ""I'm okay I was shot by an obsolete bullet ""😂
i don't think numbers alone can be easily compared, a lot depends on the potential reserves, mobilization state, and the actual number of active personnel that can be deployed to any particualar area.
The Russian war in ukraine is a perfect example of this, on paper russia's military is far larger, but on the ground ukraine actually has more manpower reserves because it has mobilized its entire defense force.
same with many nations throughout history, during times of peace nations tend to keep small active armies, but in times of national emergency reserves ca be called up, conscription introduced, and general mobilization initiated.
As such it is not possible to compare sizes of armies across different nations in different circumstances.
You are correct.
Fighting in your own home is far easier than invading an unknown country tbh. You know your own country and can mobilize forces far easily compared to the invading forces.
Ukraine is not waging war on its own. I'm willing to bet that NATO provides intelligence, satellite images, and also advises the military at headquarters and at the front. In fact, Russia is at war not only with Ukraine, but partly with NATO.

Though with the recent budget increase to 60 billion and the potential onetime 109 billion payment (that has to be decided first by parliament), that may soon change. If everything goes to plan then the money will be split like this (according to the Federal broadcasting service ARD):
- 10 billion for the Deutsche Marine
- 40 billion for the Luftwaffe
- 27 billion for modern air combat technology
- 17 billion for the Heer

"Mostly modernized T-72's".. so you mean antiquated with a paint job.
"In 2010 the Russian government allocated over $650B to procure new weapons and equipment for all the branches of their armed forces"
Except that we now know that most of it went into buying new yachts for the oligarchs.
And wasting money on utterly horrendous vehicles and weapons - the AK-12 is reported to be a garbage platform, with most troops hating having to use it.
Unsurprising, it's russian, it exists to be destroyed.
Are these numbers still accurate? I feel like 5th place might be slightly smaller.
Nah no Russians have died in Ukraine, Putin said so (he’s very trustworthy).
take in mind the reserves being activated
Great Video. Great Presentation.
Proud to be Indian😎🇮🇳💪. We have the world's largest voluntary army and we control the world's largest battlefield. We also have an air force base in Tajikistan.

Looking forward to a video on the Moskva that sank considering you also did a video for An-225 Mriya after that was destroyed.
It didn't sink, there are pictures of it being towed back to port. Also, that's not something "huge", it's one missile cruiser. The An-225 was because it was the largest plane in the world, and it being destroyed was a big deal.
I'd much prefer a video on the Battle of Mariupol video, describing the battle and also talking about how Ukranians held civilians hostage as meat shields, or how torture victims were found under Azov's base.

"Even though the last war that the US officially fought was WW2" ... I almost "officially" spat out my coffee... and I dont even drink coffee.
Great work man. Please make video and for the STRONGEST armies on earth, not especially by size.
we're seeing just how well the world's largest tank fleet fairs against the NLAW :] losing a 2 million dollar vehicle to a 40,000 dollar missile sounds like the peak of Russian strategy to me... here's to 150 years of military incompetence
Yes. They should adopt American strategy and bomb everything using air force.
Careful the slavaboos are gonna come after you now lol
NLAWs are meant to kill tanks, any tanks, tanks arent meant to kill NLAWs, the disposal of NLAWS are for the infantry support of armoured units. No tank fleet will get around this, the ABRAMS, Leopards, Challengers, the Leclerc, they are all weak against a well hidden NLAW. Also NLAWS are quite new in the battlefield, so it is expected that Russia might be initially un prepared to face them, but the are taking their time and they will very likely adapt their strategy to counter NLAWs, they are even getting some themselves.
@@oi2837 this recent foray into Ukraine is but the tiniest top tier of the multi-layer cake that is Russian militaristic ineptitude... they enter into engagements with massive advantage in resources, numbers and technology and still cannot achieve decisive victories... my comment was more to make the point that boasting the largest tank fleet in the 21st century will soon be akin to having the largest cavalry in the 20th century :]
I dont think there's any tank in the world that can defend aganist NLAW. You take an abram to fight NLAW its the same result.
