How to Fix GREEN Water in a SMALL Pool!

- Hey everyone, so after having absolutely no issues in my first year of owning the Intex Easyset 10x30 pool, I had my first real challenge. The water turned completely green after a tropical system dumped about 5 inches of rain. There is nothing worse then coming out for a swim and finding this green pool algae and cloudy water. I thought I would treat this like a larger pool and fix everything with pool chemicals, giving you all the steps on how to make the water crystal clear again. After all pool maintenance isn't rocket science right? When it comes to small pools or hot tubs, honestly sometimes it is best to just drain the water and try again. I did use shock and went back and forth between ph up and ph down before finally starting over.
If you are interested in the specific products I used, I will link to them here:

So watching this video was a waste of time 😂
Basically but damn didn’t we have a laugh at his solution 💀😂
I’ve never disliked a video before, this received a 👎
lol hell yeah
That’s exactly correct I have both an inflatable hot tub & a similar version of the kiddie pool you have. The hot tub hold about 280 gallons & in best circumstances I get 6 weeks of use before draining & refilling depending on usage & the kiddie pool I have is roughly 625 gallons & I keep it going for about 8-10 weeks relatively clear using the floating chlorine tablets dispenser.
Same thing happened to me yesterday in fact I added water to the kiddie pool & it became milky & cloudy & I began the process of determining which chemicals & add this & that & blah blah blah & I said forget this nonsense I am in North Texas the forecast is to be in the 100’s & above for next few weeks by the time I figure it all out I am missing pool time so, I drained that pool into the yard which already has dry cracks in it & then got my O’cedar spin mop & cleaned up the pool & then refilled it & I won’t miss any pool time….. it’s a win/win for me since my yard was in desperate need of hydration & me I’m in desperate need of some relaxing in my backyard kiddie pool 😎
Love it! Sounds like you’re making the most of this heat! Nothing like a good pool day to beat the Texas sun. Here’s to chillin’ in the kiddie pool all summer long!
I love how this video has a great twist at the end, but to be honest with a small pool (I have an Intex 3x2m, so simialar water capacity), your advise to just start over is I think the wisest advise I've gotten from any of the many pool maintainance videos on CZcams. Thanks! :)
Thanks so much Wayne, I knew I was going to get a little roasted in the comments for how I ended this one, but really I think I came to the best conclusion!
@@thevetdad6383 I totally agree (I wasn't being sarcastic, I found the same!)
Is it cheaper to just empty and refill this instead of using a bunch of chemicals?
put baking soda to become crystal clear water
My problem is sediment in the well water. I’m going to try this! Thank you, Dad!
Wish I'd saw this video. This is exactly what happened to ours just literally 2 rainy days and went to check it and soon green. NOW THE TASK OF CLEANING IT UP AND STORING IT WHILE LIVING IN THE COUNTRY.
So sorry to hear that Amanda! Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a comment.
Your end conclusion was the right decision. BTW, nice house!
Thank you for watching and the comment! I definitely was guilty of over thinking how to fix that water!
Ok so if I have that pool in a slightly smaller size but without a pump then im definitely fighting a lost cause? 😩 I've shocked it and upped the algaecide. Waiting for clarifier to arrive but seller hasn't dispatched it yet 🤦🏻♀️.
Wanted to avoid flooding the garden though 😬
Totally agree with this size of pool 👍
Thank you for watching and for leaving a comment!
Legendary
How much did your water bill go up?
Probably $10
Hi Jenny, I would say not really even enough to notice.
Solar covers are useless.
Why
@@moelester3062 they're always a hassle to put on take off . The sun heats up then pool enough.
Lol
All I do is just drain my pool, clean it out, and refill it , do that weekly or sometimes twice a week.
How crazy is your water bill?
For water i pay $12.50 a month @@user-xf3ec9ql4r
