Served in Desert Storm, had scud attacks in the area I was in and was close to the boarder to watch the oil wells burn and the bombing runs. Did not have any symptoms of thyroid problems but in 1999 during a physical it was discovered that my thyroids were as hard as a rock. Further testing did not provide any information other than the thyroids were non functional. Choose to have them removed and they were cancerous but they are listed as non service connected. Also developed Gird during the time I retired and had the operation.

They deny all of our ailments or give another general diagnosis of our problems. I am having heart problems, Nerve problems and Spine degeneration which is debilitating but all not Service Connected so I Hired Hill & Ponton to deal with them on this crap. It is not fair when we did what we were called upon to do! If the war was a day or 20 years. War is WAR and the Exposures are deadly more so than the enemy fire itself! Semper Fi and Can Do (Yes I went into service as a Reservist after getting medically Discharged from Marine Corps. Chasing my dream of retiring from the Military but it didn't Work! Sigh)

I’ve watched many many VA assisting sites here on CZcams, but I like your site best because you leave out personal opinions and bullshit. I am an Army Guard Iraq vet 2004-2005 with 32 years total service and trying to file for an initial claim the service connection and couldn’t file after leaving service because my medical records were lost (stupidly tried to file with VA in 2006 without med records got denied no med proof) and not found till 2011 by a friend that worked in the reserve post deployment office at Schofield Barracks HI. I have an intent to file presently for March,July, and August this year. Trying to decide what to file for first. I have strong medical evidence from service med records and post service civilian med records from 5 strokes, emphysema, colon polyps, Gerds, bilateral trigger fingers, Hearing loss, tinnitus and many other ailments mostly documented on my service med records.Wish me luck. Keep up the outstanding work supplying information to Mil Vets to make VA claims. Thank You for your service!

Yeah, I'm just learning about all of this now, I thought I was just lazy and unmotivated, but all the symptoms all add up to there is actually a reason.

Served in the Iraq war , have been experiencing chronic pain all the time, especially in my back and my legs, once I came back to the States from Iraq I had MRI done that's where they found I had degenerative disc disease in my spine and had faucet Joint Syndrome, yeah I'm not going to keep bending over and lift things. But there was something new but struck me in May of 2020 9 years after I left the army.... I started having seizures out of the blue, I don't know what the cause is no, I never had seizures before ever, nor do I have any family history of such. All I can really think of is my military service, and the exposure to burn pits, and jp-8 fuel. Did something that my neurologist I kept saying to me what could be the cause of my seizures, head injury or toxic exposure, and I really don't remember any kind of head injuries I don't have anything like that in my service record.

I served during the gulf War but did not deploy. I have almost all thr symptoms and am on the gulf War register. Iv seen studies where up to 10% of gulf War disease veterans did not deploy. So is it possible to get compensation for gulf War disease if you didn't deploy? I lost my career job due to the gulf War conditions and am considered unemployable

If you didn't deploy, how would you get a Nexus? You would need to be exposed, as in breathing the environment.

I was denied Gulf War Syndrome when I first applied in the 90s. Had kidney failure shortly after seperation but med records have been purged from the hospital. I haven't appealed it. What should I do? I have a recent award for ptsd & tinnitus. Other claims pending. I deployed to KSA & Bahrain in 91-92.

I know this is a 2 year old video, but with the Pact Act, a lot of things are presumptive now. CFS, Lupus, and other Autoimmune issues are on the rise. If you've been denied in the past, get the help you deserve. DOn't let pride stop you, or the frustrating process of claims. Educate yourself, read up on the M21 and 38 CFR specifics, AND make sure you get a good VSO or do them yourself (like I am doing after two worthless VSOs). Make sure you get a DBQ from a doctor; I now ask all doctors if they are familiar and IF THEY have an issue filling one out. No sense wasting your time if they won't, as many don't want to deal with anything VA related.

Hi there Ivan, sounds like you may want to consider starting a claim. Try speaking to the VA directly or perhaps a local Veterans Service Officer near you who can help you get started with your claim.

@@HillAndPonton I'm wondering if I should start a new claim and hope that they will back date it after showing them the 1st C& P that has it noted. Then appeal the start date or forget and request naroopothy and pain secondary to the back once I'm given a rating??
