I’m from Kenya and have met Eliud. He’s probably the nicest most down to earth athlete ever. Asked him what he thinks helps him most, and he said diet + sleep.
They often train in areas with high altitudes to train their bodies to need less oxygen, and their dieting and running/workout schedule is insane. I've tried as a highschool cross country runner that runs 6 miles a day and I still am nowhere near these guys level. Props to them fr shit ain't easy

Running on a treadmill is also way easier than actual running since theres no air resistance working against you (aside from swinging your limbs ofc). He has an insanely low BMI. And a crazy and dedicated schedule. That's why he is so good. Also, running on road is always harder than treadmill because of wind resistance and some other factors.
I think it comes down to form. He has a high kick and smooth form. What I’ve noticed is that lower cadence seems to make a runner look effortless so the reason that Nico looks like he’s sprinting is because he has a really high cadence and Kipchoge has a lower cadence
@@nabranestwistypuzzler7019 I've had three knee surgeries on my right knee. Running or walking on hard surfaces for too long makes ankles and my right knee swell up.
His world record time was only like a minute and a half or so longer. The state of art technology and pacers only reduced his pace by that much over 26.2 miles. It's the average speed of 26mph He could have been a lot faster and a lot slower on many points of the race Or it's just crazy stamina, endurance and genetics
That's also without wind resistance, obviously he has other runners with him to help divert that air stream where they can but some inevitably gets through. On top of that with a treadmill it's much easier to just throw your legs back and let the treadmill do the work than running on regular ground as you have to generate all of the force and movement yourself.
