Yep. That 01 Eastern Conference should have gone to Milwaukee had it not been for some of the worst officiating I’ve ever seen.
They should have gone to the finals and probably would have won since they swept the Lakers that season (as well as Pop’s prime Spurs and a very talented Utah Jazz team) as well. But add Dirk, could have had Dirk, Glenn Robinson and Ray Allen. All time dynasty. Definitely disappointing.

Ray Allen became a pure shooter in Boston because he wasn’t gonna be the main guy with Kevin and Paul on his team. Amazing how he found a way to help the team and still be a superstar. Most players don’t evolve their game to fit the rosters. Kobe always was a shooter, same for mj. LeBron always the primary ball handler. Like many superstars don’t change their game for the team.
He also wanted to preserve his career too I think he was so smart for that he could have easily kept being all around but notice he basically stayed healthy more than pierce and kg

Fact is Ray Allen never got the credit he deserved. He never was the face of a championship team. When I think of that Celtics team, that was Paul Pierce’s team.
I look at the Heat, that was LeBron’s or Wade’s or Bosh’s team.
But he was the face of the Bucks. After finally waiting for a new super star after Sidney Moncrief and Marques Johnson, the Bucks finally had a great duo of Allen and Glenn Robinson. That should have been a great duo.
And if they hadn’t gotten cheated out of that 01 Eastern Conference Championship, there’s a good chance the Bucks would have given the Lakers a run for them money and maybe have beaten LA.
Not only did they beat the Lakers earlier that season, but they swept them. And not only them, but also Pop’s 58-24 Spurs, the 56-26 eventual champion Lakers, the 55-27 Kings, and the 53-29 Jazz. The top 4 teams of the West got swept by Allen’s Bucks.
If they get to the Championship, it’s for sure one of the best Finals we’ve ever seen. Shaq and Kobe vs Allen and Robinson. That would have been awesome. As a whole, we all were robbed of a titanic series thanks to refball. Allen is criminally underrated and deserves all the love, especially from Milwaukee.
But it doesn’t help that Milwaukee drafted Dirk Nowitzki but then traded him to the Mavs for Robert Traylor.
