    This was the simplest version of Cryptomatte that I've seen on CZcams. And the only one that I could understand. Thanks!!

    I was wasting time using legacy and different outputs until now. Thanks! For your convenience you can use Ctrl+Shift+click on the node to see the viewer. Just have to enable node wrangler

    This should be the official Cryptomatte tutorial. No one's been able to explain it so clearly. You saved me hours. Thx

    Straight to the point. Next time render as OpenEXR with DWAA lossy instead of a PNG sequence. 32 bit and smaller file sizes.You'll thank me later.

    100,000% the best walk through of Cryptomatte (for a new Blender user) I've seen. Thanks 👍

    This is the simplest version of this that I've seen. Just wanted to get a matte out for some basic compositing. Thank you!

    Really good tutorial! Thank you! Just 2 cents here - if you keep making only these good Fusion / Blender tutorials, you will have thousands subscribers

    Thanks for the tutorial! There is one essential thing that might be handy to know. In order for the files to get written from the compositor you have to make sure that "Compositing" is checked under the scene tab. I was banging my head for 15 minutes before figuring that out.:)

    Awesome. I've watched like 10 tuts on cryptomatte and blender and all of them seem to disregard to whole point of rendering them out at all, or worse, just showing how to render out one object and not even explaining.. which is wild, because one object would just be the alpha, so like, thanks for explaining absolutely nothing. So, Light Sail VR, thank you for actually explaining! Much appreciated!

    Thanks for doing the video! It would be nice if you can do a tutorial trying to save all the cryptomate info by the compositor and saving it in OpenEXR Multilayer with DWAA Lossy and try to make it work in DaVinci Resolve using the cryptomate node in fusion, this way helps to make the workflow a lot faster in big projects

    This was really helpful, learning the basics of Blender's node editor and thought there must be a way to choose objects with ID somehow, will help also combining with mask node I assume.
    But for heaven's sake don't hurt that mouse, simple click is enough!

    How do you render a correct cryptomatte that gets you 1 matte per object into a multilayer exr? It "works" but in the EXR separate objects are together in the crypto, making it useless. It's supposed to have the possibility to target each object separately and never to group different objects together in "chunks", as it does now (It's set to render cryptomatte pass only on "object" and NOT "material" or "asset").

  • @chlbrn
    @chlbrn Před rokem

    Other render engines like octane and vray automatically output all layers and cycles still doesn't do that, you have to manually add file output and select objects and materials you want which takes too long. Let's say you have a character, you want to tweak the color of hair, face, eyes, body, cloth, shoes. and you have to manually add outputs of all those things which is beyond me...

  • @redd1029
    @redd1029 Před rokem

    I tried this, when file output was EXR and in the Output properties where you normally change Output settings is in PNG they get both rendered 1 PNG sequence and 1 EXR sequence. I wanted to just render 1EXR sequence for 1 object but I have to put both settings to EXR but I get EXR sequences and another EXR Sequence (separated Object). I just want the separated Object, I don't know how to do it.

    Thank you for a great tutorial. Do you know any way to make a cryptomatte mask of everything EXCEPT one object? The rest in the scene are multiple objects with multiply materials I just need to remove the floor and its shadows from renders (but keep reflections on the main object) PLEASE HELP

    what's the point of using cryptomattes when we pick our objects before rendering?
    That's not the correct or good workflow!

    • @FlyingBanana78
      @FlyingBanana78 Před rokem +1

      Allows you to adjust a bunch of individual things in the render without having to re render the whole thing. Allows using the sequence output as layers which help as masks for vfx work. Allows for the always dreaded "lead" saying looks good but I think I want that box blue not brown not to be a headache.

    how can I solve the color bleeding with the cryptomatte node ?? A green screen leaves some green lines .. almost invisible but still present.
